“I’ve heard they have a reputation for good burgers, so the kiddo and I drove an hour to check them out. Well, we can confirm the burgers were fantastic as was the server/service! The fries and cheese balls were excellent too! Make sure to try the jalapeño ketchup, it’s outstanding and also available for purchase! We will be back!“
“I have been to Backstreet quite a bit over the last 40 years I lived in Waukesha. Always pretty steady with good drinks, food and service. Their Friday fish options really cannot be matched in the area with both baked and fried and I've never had one I didn't like. I had to give a review as last Friday night we went with friends and for some reason, there was a mix up and the other 5 at the table got their food and mine didn't come. It was noticed right away and immediately I had one of the owners come and apologize and even offer me soup while I waited. It did take a little bit but what made it right for me was that she checked in yet again and our server came over as well and owned the fact that he had made a mistake. What impressed me was the fact that it was important to them to make it right. In a world where so many could care less, make excuses or just plain not acknowledge, I appreciate those who will just look you in the eye, speak the truth and apologize. It was a busy night, waiters were hopping and I appreciate what they do when I know they are putting all they have into it. I felt like I had the best dinner... No corners cut, hot and made to perfection!“
“The best breakfast in Waukesha. This may seem like a hole in the wall bar from the outside but don’t let this fool you. The cook in the back always has daily specials. The breakfast is amazing here. Do yourself a favor and try one of the cooks specials. Love this place.“
“We ordered the battered cod and half the fish was pollack and the other was cod. The pollack was so fishy tasting the dog wouldn't even eat it. It went down the garbage disposal. Fries were overcooked, almost burnt. Salad was all leaves, no tomato except for 2 tiny pieces.The bun was the best of the whole meal.Tally's has always been our go to for fish fries. Always excellent. Hopefully our next visit will be better or we'll be on the hunt for a new place.“
“Parking is difficult now that a new company took away the extra parking. Went there twice in the last couple months the and couldn't find any parking. Had to go elsewhere. They have the best blue gill and potatoes pancakes. They also have a peanuty popper bacon wrapped. Oh yum!“
“Last visited this restaurant 8-9 years ago and the interior is relatively the same. I can attest to the service being excellent (shout out to Maggie) and the food arrived to the table hot and to order. I would recommend upgrading to the waffle fries over the chips.“
“Came on a Friday with a friend for her birthday lunch. She was craving a burger and this place hit the mark! It was way busier than I expected for a hole in the wall place in Waukesha. There is a front area with tables, a bar, and a stage. We went into the back area that was a little quieter - still had TVs and a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was sweet but a bit overwhelmed. Took way longer than expected for two burgers with tots. I had a turkey burger and my dining companion had the black and blue burger sans bun. We both liked our meals and the prices were fair. There were a variety of families, friends, and coworkers hanging out. I would return to watch a game or for lunch, but wouldn't bank on getting in and out quickly, so plan accordingly.“

“Nicely decorated for Halloween. Pool tables, darts and a few machines. Fast service despite it being a Friday. Great Bloodys with garnishes and loved the fish fry! They accidentally brought me fried fish instead of baked and they were so quick and polite to bring me baked and a box to take the fried home. Great service is hard to find nowadays and they went above and beyond! Plan to come back again soon!“
“What a friendly neighborhood bar. Clean and pretty comfortable. Ok selection of drinks.But the food!!!!!The wings and some of the best around and the other food looked great as well.Huge wings...my finger was trying to show size. They were meaty but not greasy or drowning in sauce. Perfect.“
