Haven't been to there in a few years but when I stopped in I asked for chilli cheese dog and chili cheese fries. The dog came with coleslaw which I'm not a fan of but waitress talked me into keeping it on and I'm glad she did, it was

Generally very good food with better than average wings. Wings could be a bit more crispy and be perfect. Usually full of WVU students and very noisy. Come early. Huge basket of great fries-ask to have them delivered asap before they get cold. Parking can be problematic when they get busy. Very popular sports bar. Definitely going back.

Best boneless wings I've ever had in my life, and I've had traveled extensively. Truly that exceptional and cannot recommend enough. Drinks are stiff and the environment is great especially to watch a game, place is clean. Parking is great, easy to get to, and they have some solid options for a pescatarian/vegetarian as well. Service could improve a tiny bit, but the only real dig is that prices are most definitely on the high side. Not a super cheap outing.

Met a friend for lunch and haven't been here in quite a long time. The food was good. Service was just ok. Prices have really gone up. I ordered a French dip sandwich and subbed French fries as my side. They charged an extra $3.50 for the sub and an additional charge for ranch dip. Then, they charge another fee if you pay with a credit card. Crazy!! My lunch was $20 plus tip for a sandwich and fries! Won't be returning. Many better food choices elsewhere for that price.

Went in for a late lunch on an away game Saturday. Wasn't crowded but took a while to get a server, we finally went to the bar to ask if someone could get us drinks. Everything on the special menu was sold out and no substitutions offered. Good food and nice atmosphere.

A former co-worker suggested this restaurant for a family meal. There are many options in Morgantown to choose from, and we thought we would go check out if this place really is as great as we have been told. The menu looked amazing, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of sandwiches on the board, and other tavern-style food options. Unfortunately, we found the meal to be lacking in areas, and overly done in others. For example, my daughter ordered the chicken wrap and although it was very well portioned and the ingredients were fresh, the chicken lacked seasoning and there was no flavor to the cheese at all. She ordered a side of ranch to help give it some flavor. My husband ordered the Varsity Beef sandwich. He was looking forward to it until it came literally loaded with enough mayo and bbq sauce that the sandwich bun was drenched and soggy. The sandwich literally deteriorated and fell apart in his hands while trying to eat it. He said it was ridiculously done over with salt and sauce. He would recommend giving it a hard pass.I ordered the Cubano, and I will admit it was a great sandwich! Nothing bad to say; all positives on this meal! 10/10.My son ordered the Calzone and added ham. The ham had no flavor, which was strange, as ham can usually be salty. This ham was flavorless, and did nothing for adding flavor to the bland Calzone. It lacked the normal italian seasoning flavors that we are used to for this type of meal. Instead of making it so big (it was huge), more effort could be given to making it taste better.Since all sandwiches are served with chips, we opted to add a large basket of french fries to our table ($9.00). We felt this was the better price, as it would be an additional $3.50 each to substitute the fries for our chips w/the sandwiches we ordered. We were very disappointed, as the fries were so overly salted, even my teenagers said they felt their blood pressure rise by taking just one bite! We would have asked for them to be replaced, but we did not see our server again until the end of the meal. It wasn't her fault, as it appeared that only 2 servers were waiting on tables in a busy restaurant. The only reason I gave 3 stars for service, is strictly because there was too many tables for the amount of staff working to handle. They were very good and we appreciated their efforts. All in all, this place has a great reputation. We are going to just believe that we visited on a night that was just not up to the normal quality. However, we will not be making another trip to see if it improves, as our bill came to over $100 (w/tax & tip).Dietary restrictions: If you are watching your sodium, you will want to ask that they go lightly with the shaker. The fries were so overly salted that we basically wasted $9.00. Would recommend getting them plain and adding your own salt. I'm sure that would be a major improvement.

Always great food and fast service even on gameday's. The sandwiches are always a top choice but you can't go wrong with the nachos or wings.

Varsity Club is the best place for a Hot Hoagie/Sub in Morgantown. That is because of quality and Variety. From their Baked Italiano with Porchetta or their hot pepper cheese steak, they pay attention to detail. The roll is reminiscent of something from New Jersey or Philly. It holds up to the sauces, cheese and meats. But, is not dense or too filling to where you cannot enjoy the sandwich. This passed time, I had the French dip with Horseradish sauce. It was very good. Stuffed with shaved prime rib with melted cheese and caramelized onions/mushrooms.

Clearly you need to be a local or a regular to get noticed or get service here. Was visiting WVU. When traveling try to eat locally, heard about Varsity Club so we went for dinner. Place was 1/2 full, stood in the entrance for 5 minutes before someone said just grab a table or booth. Sat down and waited and waited and waited, person next to me, clearly a known regular had a waitress, several others did too, about 15 minutes easy, looked at my daughter and we just left. Not sure if there is some.secret hand shake to get attention or service, but we just went elsewhere. Its summer, place was 1/2 full, seemed to be plenty of server to patron attention, but I and college student got none. Probably wont go back there for a second bite at the apple.

As our daughter is in hospital again, this time at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital. We try to find places to eat other than the dreaded hospital cafeterias. I found this place while Googling.A very WVU Sports oriented place run by alumni. Very close to the hospital and stadium. The atmosphere is very nostalgic of WVU sports, very hometown vibe. Large menu of pub food from steak to funnel fries for dessert. We had a French dip sandwich and a turkey and cranberry painting. Both were great. Also had the Buffalo chicken dip, also tasty, but a bit salty.Reasonable prices.Eighteen different draft beers on tap that are changed regularly.

In town to visit friends, and I thought I would do something different and I went to varsity club. Somewhere I only go once a year. The food is good, and they have a big menu. The price here is usually a little bit more expensive than average, but to be fair to them they always use good quality ingredients. Don't try to come here on WVU home football weekends. Because of their proximity to the stadium they get extremely busy. Other than that though I recommend it anytime, good food.
