Once upon a time, in a world where technology met food, three tech-savvy pals faced a common
problem: where to have lunch. As coworkers at the same company, they often found themselves
discussing their food experiences from their travels or the local roasteries serving specialty
coffee beans. They realized that none of the existing websites or apps for foodies quite hit the
mark. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands and create the ultimate restaurant
review website.
In 2016, Restaurantji was born. The trio's vision was to gather all available information about
every restaurant in the nation from various sources on the internet, including Google, Facebook,
Yelp, Reddit, and Instagram. They aimed to analyze this data and find the best places for you to
eat in your area. Being tech-centric, they wanted to provide users with quick,
easy-to-understand answers - no need to read lengthy reviews. That's when the word "restaurant"
met "emoji," and the unique brand name, Restaurantji, came to life.
Over the last 7 years, Restaurantji has aggregated information on more than 950,000 restaurants
across the USA and Canada, analyzing millions of customer reviews. Using text recognition and
AI, our platform has collected 883,000 restaurant menus. Today, we serve over 5 million visitors
each month, who generously share tens of thousands of comments and photos of their past food
experiences.
We continue to improve our search algorithm every month, striving to create the ideal restaurant
app. We may not be there just yet, but we're getting closer to our dream every day. Join us on
this delicious journey as we explore the world of food together - one emoji at a time!
