“This is my second time eating here. Each dish is always more surprising, more flavorful, more harmonious than its description. Order many different dishes. Portions are perfectly sized to my taste, but I HAVE immediately placed a repeat order when a dish was spectacular. The servers are reliable guides, especially if you have a dietary restriction or allergy. “Arizona” was a great waiter. Pleasant mid-century modern decor in a motor lodge—ridiculously outshined by the food. And a good cocktail doesn't hurt.“

“Stumbled upon this gem with a coworker who happened to be staying at a nearby hotel. We sat at the long sushi bar, so service was amazingly quick since we could order the sushi with the chef in front of us.He was super friendly, even when the place was busy. We ordered the rainbow roll, Hiro roll, miso soup, and the spicy tuna crispy rice (my personal favorite, highly recommend).Everything tasted VERY fresh, and the chef confirmed that everything gets shipped overnight.“

“Delicious and healthy, the meal commenced with a bowl of miso soup. Shrimp tempura was light and tender. Edamame are tasty. Gyoza was delightful with each morsel yielding a variety of texture. Chicken Katsu Curry had a light panko bread, offering a sense of fusion cuisine. The California roll, lovely in its simplicity, paralleled the dragan roll, an excellent combination of shrimp and smoked eel. The green tea perfectly complimented the meal. The music is not japanese, is too loud, and is somewhat disagreeable. Besides that, the atmosphere is pleasant and server Ariana was attentive.“

“Had a great experience at Uchi. The food was exceptionally prepared, all allergies were taken into consideration and service was great! The only thing that was “off” was the shrimp tail that was ON! It was too dark to see it, so ended up chewing it!! Still not sure why anyone leaves the shell on in the first place! Omakase for 2, a la carte for 2 was perfect for the four of us. Will return.“

“This evening me and B we blessed enough to experience the dining experience of the year. (Possibly decade for me) We were lucky enough to catch a 5:45 seating at Shinbay: Chef Ken Tanaka's latest triumpth. The nature of the experience is honestly kinda failed by the typical Yelp format; and it's a real "ya just had to be there" kinda moments. But take it from the both of us, you won't see a single cell phone screen from anyone, the room is consciousness is dramatically present, this is a daringly sharp taste journey that stays with your thoughts and conversations for hours and hours after you leave. This is place is not for the amateur food scene enthusiast... it's strictly for the elite and uncompromising. My recommendation go, at all costs if you're as passionate about this art as me... and only take someone who has the ability to appreciate it as much as you. You will never regret it“

“Fabulous welcome, sushi, sake and service! First visit but we will definitely be back! We had the Gyoza, Salmon Carpaccio, the OMG roll and the Sex and the City Roll. All were delicious. While we were waiting we were treated to a taste of the chefs special. Really good!“

“The food is excellent! But, if you order takeout from the different apps, such as DoorDas, Uber Eats, you are not allowed to ask for Eel sauce, or to have the dumpling, steamed, or no salt on the edamame , etc. That's one bad thing about this place so it makes me not order from the restaurant anymore and go to the other sushi restaurants“

“We found this little sushi place and my goodness was it ever good!! The owners were wonderful (they are the real deal!), the presentation was beautiful and the fish was absolutely delicious. “The food is delicious. Top favorites are: Appetizers: egg rolls, deep fried gyoza. Signature rolls: Red dragon, kiss of fire and hot night.Baked rolls: Dynamite. We are still working our way through the Specialty rolls but the Salmon belly osaka roll is our new favorite! All the food is delicious so you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. All of the staff and servers are also very friendly and provide excellent service.“

“Came here on the way home from work since I was craving sushi and missed their happy hour by a few minutes (until 5:45pm). But, they have about 10 items (including 9 rolls) that are $5 each all day! They also have a special on Wednesdays that's $25 for a bottle of wine and two rolls. I ended up getting 3 rolls. Figured I could try them out and take whatever was left back home. I got the chunky toro, negihama and dynamite rolls. They were all really good and didn't take much time at all to make despite the place being pretty packed for a Wednesday at 6pm. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I've ever had, but for the price and great service, I'd say it's definitely a place to check out!“

“A group of us were in old town Scottsdale, and was walking around the new civic center to build up an appetite. 4 adults and 4 children that spanned the ages of 4-16, so we could have went to Grimaldi’s but passed by this place and some of the kids were tired of pizza and wanted Ramen. I know, kids tired of pizza… seems odd but true. They have a nice and clean A/C dining room but we opted for the outdoor patio seating area. As there was a nearby Jazz festival. It set the mood for a great dining experience. Ethan was our server, and even though it was a packed house, he got all of orders and assured that the food arrived nice and hot. We were happily surprised by the quality of the Tonkatsu Ramen, the noodles were just the amount of al dente and firmness. The broth was flavorful but not overly salty which complimented the pork belly and the medium egg. It was delicious and just 12$. We ordered some California rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, tempura udon soup, and sashimi. It was yummy, not leftovers at all. It was delicious, my family and I returned again. Ethan and the owner are not only great “hosts” but also delivered world class customer service and hospitality at the level you may come to expect at a fine dining establishment. “Sushi here is decent and the service is good. I've also had a takeout ramen and the way the food was packed was quite good as the soup was separated from the noodles to prevent the noodles from getting soggy. This restaurant has been around for awhile but it looks like the little Japanese restaurants that I've seen when we lived in Tokyo, made me feel like I was back in Japan.“

“Beautiful amazing steaks. I love shopping their floral department as well as produce. First visit to this location. Fast friendly check out. They have some unique food items, gifts, and decore I love coming here. They have a nice alcoholic beverage area as well. The desserts are a big hit and I always pick up a macadamia nut white chocolate cookie or two from the bin for my hubby. Delicious sushi and hot food always on display ready for you to pick your faves and take it to go. They have a nice patio area if you would like to sit and relax.“

“This review is specifically for the karaoke rooms. When we first tried this place out in 2022, it was just an okay experience- the room felt a bit old/unclean, the song selection was limited, and we spent half our alloted time battling with the glitchy sound system. We tried it again the following year and it has SIGNIFICANTLY improved- the machines work flawlessly, the new karaoke app has plenty more songs, and the rooms have been tidied up or remodelled. This has become one of our favorite experiences in Old Town and we're constantly finding excuses to come here. The service is great and their specialty cocktails are delicious as well. We will definitely be back, undoubtably several times more. :)“

“Seems terribly lonely inside. The option I picked was just teriyaki chicken and beef and rice and green onions and that was it. All the toppings are an additional 2-4 $ which can add up very quickly. The chicken and beef was good but needs more toppings!Perhaps I should try the sushi next time… good prices but who knows the quality …Dietary restrictions: Gluten free ✅“
