“The ultimate coffee-geek experience in Vancouver. This place has a unique vibe that makes you want to explore all their brewing methods and taste all their coffees. Ordered a flat white and was surprised at how small it was. Shrinkflation is everywhere these days. It was also not as hot as I would have preferred it to be. That being said, the service was great. Though we arrived 30 minutes before closing time and sat down to enjoy our order, they didn’t make us feel rushed. We’ll be back to try something new and will definitely order more waffles!“

“Live in the area and work from a coffee shop everyday. My previous everyday spot was Prado nearby and enjoyed going there but the staff turnover unfortunately was too high due to poor owners, so I tried Timbertrain.Highly recommend, the coffee is great and the popcorn cookie is to die for :) Loving the atmosphere and the staff here are tremendous. They already know my regular order in such a short amount of time.Only complaint is that power options are very limited, just the one outlet. But I understand they want to keep people moving :)“

“This coffee roaster is one of my most favourite in Vancouver East. Although it is operating quietly in a warehouse building in a quiet street, there are many people visit this coffee roaster in the neighbourhood. The baristas were quite friendly to new faces like me (in fact I’ve here for several times but I’m not living nearby). My favourite coffee here is simply latte. The flavour was bold and full body which is also good to go with oat milk. The barista counter is in the centre of the space with most of the seats are allocated to inside of the space. They have the steps near the entrance for customers to wait or enjoy coffee there. I recommend this place for coffee lovers if you are in the East VAN area.“

“This is the most wonderful cafe. They have completely stolen my heart. The owners do a fantastic job of making the atmosphere homey and welcoming, and they also have fabulous drinks and pastries. (I recommend their Matcha Latte, London Fog, the Almond Cookie-Croissant, and their Chicken Pesto Sandwich!)I've been to the majority of the Cafes in Kits, and this is easily in my top 3. I find the ambience to be so warm and inviting, and the owners make the space so pleasant to be in. If you want a place to catch up with a friend, or to study for finals, or to enjoy a new book, C41 is the spot to do it.“

“A Stellar Experience at lovelarte!I recently had the pleasure of visiting lovelarte, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere captivated me, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends. The first thing that caught my attention was the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans that permeated the air. It was clear that the folks at lovelarte take their coffee seriously, and it truly paid off. I ordered a cappuccino along with peach danish (yummy) and was blown away by the rich and robust flavor – a testament to the high-quality beans they use.The baristas were not only skilled at their craft but also incredibly friendly. Their passion for coffee was evident, and they were more than happy to share recommendations based on my preferences. The attention to detail in crafting each cup was impressive, and it made my visit feel personalised and special.Thank you lovelarte and I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Vancouver!“

“First visit to this Trees location, but I’ve been to many of the other locations. The space is clean and comfortable - it’s moderately-sized for downtown and wasn’t crowded around noon on a weekday while I was there. The barista was friendly. I had a veggie breakfast wrap, a slice of strawberry cheesecake (January special), and a cup of Chinese sencha. The breakfast wrap is your standard scrambled eggs wrap with a Southwest touch of black beans and peppers, with a side of spicy salsa. It was good. The strawberry cheesecake had a strong natural strawberry flavour. The texture was nice and light, this one was a bit more mousse-like than most of their cheesecakes. They use high quality tea leaves. My good impression here is consistent with the experiences I’ve had at other locations. Their food is standard cafe fare but notable for being fresh and filling. The cheesecake slices are a good size, not too dense, and all of the flavours I’ve tried so far (which is most of them) are memorable.“

“This location is my first favourite if them all. The chefs prepare pretty good food here, always fresh, wholesome and lots of variety. I like to pick up fresh organic fruits and veggies, then head over to the food bar to create my own dinner. Tonight, raisin, nuts and turmeric rice, roasted chicken, and braised cauliflower. Plus a carrot, celery, cucumber and coconut water smoothie. How perfect is that? Optimal nutrition and delicious to boot, convenience too. “I'm a big fan of JJ Bean as long as I can find a seat. Coffee and pastries have been consistently good for years. If I were to criticize anything it is that they don't seem able or willing to stay on top of cleaning and general wear and tear. That's a generalization and might apply to some locations more than others.“
