“The food was very good but the service was just fair. at one point, we were only one of two tables in the restaurant but the wait staff didn't come promptly either with our dessert menus, to take our dessert orders or with our check. we were celebrating a birthday and the birthday cupcake was brought over before we ever had an opportunity to order other desserts.“

“I have somehow had drinks or eaten food at this spot 3x in the last few weeks, all by happenstance, as I've lived around the corner from this spot since it opened and had only been here once or twice prior to to this month. The cocktails are beautifully done and the selection is extensive. I was able to order off the menu for a more traditional gimlet which was very well done with fresh lime juice. The appetizers/small plates are excellent for the most part, with strong flavors and nice presentation. On another night we ordered the grilled bread, which had a smoky flavor that was not unpleasant but was also very strong. I would have been as satisfied with just a light toast or warmed bread. Ordering from the app/QR code the first two times was very easy as we were there on a Tuesday and then again the following Wednesday, both times soon after opening for dinner service. Dinner was on a Thursday, a little bit later, and while the dining crowd was larger and service was a little slower, it was very good overall. The flavors in the broth for the mussels and roasted veggies were well done, but it also felt like the flavor of the grilled bread that we ordered as a side for dipping overpowered the broth. I think I will just avoid the bread next time and that is very much my thing, nothing against the restaurant.“

“We just had the most awesome breakfast at The Hangout in Martinez. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. It had just the right amount of crunchy spicy sweet goodness. Fast and friendly service.“

“It’s a contemporary Japanese restaurant with an extensive menu. Decor is bright and cheery. Bonus points for big screens showing a winning Warriors game on the night we dined there! ? Personally I had the cheesy katsu on a sizzling hot plate which was quite a sight and tastes pretty good. My party had sushi and ramen which are ok but the broth is not complex flavor-wise. The draft beer in frosted mugs is refreshing and goes very well with the katsu. Service is friendly and lots of drink options from sake to soju to ramunes. Definitely something for everyone.Vegetarian options: There are options even for plant-based diets.Parking: Saw a couple of pay-per-use EV charging spots in the parking lot too. “We hosted an event at Curry Kona. and I must tell you, what a smooth process it has been while planning, coordination, deciding menu, etc. with Sheena. She is very accommodating and welcoming. She and her staff were on their toes before, during and after the event. Loved the Kathi Rolls and appetizers. All the guests went home happy. She showed utmost hospitality and happily customized the food for one of our guests due to some dietary restrictions. Highly recommend this place.“
