“We arrived in Glen Ellen after a long car ride. I chose to crash at the hotel, but my husband wasn't going to miss a chance to eat at Glen Ellen Star. A week later I am still hearing about the other-worldly bananas foster he had for dessert! :-) We love this place so much that when we plan a weekend getaway we stay in Glen Ellen and drive over the hills to visit Napa and St. Helena just to be near our favorite restaurant, the Glen Ellen Star.“

“We visited here back in September, but I am only now getting around to leaving my review. We had a wonderful time dining here! The food was amazing, our server was attentive and friendly, and the drinks were great. We sat outside and the weather was warm and once it got dark they had little table lamps for a nice glow. We walked around a little bit after dinner to go see the fountain that was lit up. They also had a great dessert menu and we loved the added option of cigars. We would definitely come back! I would also like to try their Bar + Bakery.“

“Always the best food, service, and hospitality in Sonoma. A couple of recent additions to the menu were out of this world...a trout tartare, and a seared tuna that had the most wonderful light sauce that had a tad bit of heat. Wine list is locally focused and continues to be one of the best in wine country. I've never had an experience here that wasn't outstanding.“

“Stoped here with friends for dinner. None of us have ever been here so we went in with open minds and ready to be fed some good food!! So many choices to dine. Inside the restaurant, outside tables or cute yurts that seem to seat about 4 comfortably. Inside is beautiful and rustic. Very comfortable not pretentious. We were given menus but really didn't understand the process until our food server explained that side dishes are served family style in Le Cruset casserole dishes, you just need to pick a couple of proteins to go with them. Our choices: a full loaf of sourdough, fresh picked veggies and their own dip, braised leeks that are meant to be served cold, a whole deboned chicken and a filet of sturgeon. Everything was beyond incredible!! So much flavor!! Everything was extremely fresh. We kept making yum noises and saying OMG after tasting each dish. We couldn't have been happier. All our dishes seemed to compliment each other so well. Our food server was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE...she knew just the right wine to suggest with it and we took her suggestion. She really went ABOVE and BEYOND her job. No I can see whay she was training someone...she really knows the fine art of turning someone's dinner into an experience!! I wish I would have taken pictures but we were too busy eating. 5 stars Charter Oak! You exceeded in all aspects!“

“I went to El Dorado for my birthday dinner with my friends We did wine tasting at WALT only 1 min walking distance from El Dorado and we really liked this course. Wine tasting and dinner at nice restaurant was such a good choice! Inside of the restaurant is very spacious and cozy. Only one thing, the grilled salmon which we ordered along with risotto didn't come out at the first time, the our server realized and brought to our table later. Except that, the food was very tasty and we really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm the person who especially love the Sonoma vibe and the restaurant definitely made me feel I'm in the nice and cozy town.“

“The food was prepared to tease the “taste sense”with a burst of flavors. We choose the three course meal with the wine pairings. The raviolo was soft and pillowy. The morel mushrooms were a special treat to the flavor of the brown butter and the pasta. I also got the Grilled Berkshire Pork Loin that was a flavorful delight when eaten with the apple miso and the wild mushrooms. For my final course I got “Into the Woods” which was porcini chocolate ice cream with smoked marshmallows and graham crackers. A perfect way to end a perfect meal. The service was friendly and made you feel as though you were eating dinner “with your family.” Thank you for a memorable experience for our anniversary...“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining here for lunch, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the breathtaking views and inviting atmosphere. The food surpassed all expectations. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was a culinary delight. The staff at this place is incredible. Their professionalism and attention to detail made me feel like a valued guest. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Overall, my lunch was exceptional in every way. The combination of stunning views, delicious food, and impeccable service made me feel like I was on a vacation. I can't wait to return and enjoy another memorable meal.“

“My family and I have eaten at Farmstead many, many times, and the service, food, drinks and ambience is always great and a wonderful experience. The food and wine selections perfectly complement the flavors for an elevated dining experience. The portions are generous, especially the Heritage St. Louis Ribs and the California Arborio Rice - definitely shareable plates. The desserts are always on point. My favorite is the Scharffen Berger Chocolate Cream Pie - house made with a thick graham cracker crust and whipped cream. If you are looking for a true farm to table experience, showcasing fresh and flavorful ingredients from their garden, ranch and vineyards, Farmstead delivers. Price: $$$ Food: ***** Service: ***** Cuisine: American Farmhouse I highly recommend Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch!“

“Food was excellent. Service had some high points but the server seemed a bit burnt out and fake. Still, everything arrived as we asked. Our table was not really crumbed well. Also, the server rushed through the additions as if she had said the same thing a thousand times. The host (maybe he was the manager) was charming as was the food runner and busser. We ordered 2 desserts, the butterscotch pudding was heavily lauded by the server and was good but not the best I've ever had. We also ordered the bruleed banana split which redefines a banana split and was by far the best dessert we had in the over 12 restaurants we visited while in the wine country. Pasta with tiger prawns, peas, lemon and capers in a light cream was excellent but would have benefitted from a little more linguini. In all, I recommend Market to anyone who is living in or visiting Calistoga.“

“Stopped here to have lunch after a wine tasting. It was a beautiful sunny day in Napa. We were six of us. We all had various kinds of burgers, some with fries, some with Floats. I ordered a Kimchee burger. OMG, it was so delicious. The fries were great too. I also tasted a bit of my friend's vanilla malt shake. So delicious. Would definitely recommend this burger joint.“

“We visited Goose & Gander on a Sunday night so it wasn't all that busy. Our server, RJ, was very attentive and described the specials. We ordered the tempura fried fava beans he recommended for an appetizer and they were delicious! The cocktails were excellent—some of the best! I had a play on a Margarita which was with spicy pepper and ginger. My husband had a Manhattan. We split the G&G burger and ordered a duck egg on top. (The other option, which is bone marrow on the burger, is also delicious.). For dessert we had bread pudding with a Guinness caramel sauce and Jameson ice cream. All was spectacular!“

“What a great little find - they have a great bar and cocktails. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We shared the tenderloin for 2 and were very happy as the meat was prepared very well w/good flavor. The Desserts are ample for 2 people. I was pretty astounded at how much food the chef and sous chef produce and prepare very well in one of the smallest but most efficient kitchens I have every seen. Will definitely go back when I return to Sonoma next time.“

“Obsessed. Jeffrey's is our favorite neighborhood breakfast spot. We like to go an hour or 1.5 hours before closing as the line has died down by this point. My husband is a chicken fried steak connoisseur and he says this is the best one. I'm a big fan of the cobb salad with a side of fries for lunch and the bacon & Brussels sprouts hash for breakfast. The staff are friendly, personable and accommodating. Ambiance is family friendly. Outdoor seating available and dog friendly patio.“

The outdoor patio is beautiful and the ambiance is just perfect. You can grab a coffee to go but I highly recommend staying for the food and the experience.“
“Awesome beer, awesome food, awesome experience. I really enjoy my visits here and always like to come home with some swag from their gift shop. My favorite is to sit on the outside patio and do a beer sampler. Make sure you order the spicy cheese curds!“

“We were on our way from Napa to Calistoga and decided to stop by St. Helena for some shopping and to grab some breakfast. It was Saturday morning and we got there at about 11 am. We got so lucky because we were able to get seated right away, even though the place was packed. I wouldn't be surprised if there are long wait times, especially on the weekend. I think the fact that it was raining helped us to get seated quickly. So charming inside, absolutely no frills but you can tell by going in that they have that home cooked charm. I was surprised that their menu was large, quite a diner experience. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with fries. The portions were big and I just had half my sandwich and some fries at the diner since I was supposed to be eating light before going to the spa. The sandwich was delicious, simple but done right. Staff was friendly, bathroom was clean. The establishment does not have their own parking, street parking only. I highly recommend this place.“

“Omg the stuffed artichoke and fish tacos here are Devine. We came when it was very busy but managed to get a seat quickly. We stopped at the bar first and were able to get some drinks from an awesome and quick bar tender. Our party visited 3 times in our 4 day vacation to Sonoma so you could say we liked it. The bathrooms are very nice and clean and it wasn’t a super far walk from the square if you are hoping to avoid an Uber.Vegetarian options: The artichoke is to die for. They have an excellent menu.Parking: There is a lot of different kinds of parking around. Even though the place was packed there was lots of street parking around. I believe lots of people walk.“

“Food was so delicious!! We had their special Western Fried Chicken Sandwich. Flavor was on point and chicken was juicy and didn't have to much breading. Also got a coffee shake the flavor was great but I was hoping for more of a thick shake. Staff was super friendly and we got our food fairly quickly since they were very busy. We are so glad we finally stopped by but sad it was their last day opened. Prices are reasonable for the price of food these days.“

“I would recommend the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken sandwich at this specific location, as it is the best when compared with their two other locations. “Food was not great. Ordered calamari and a steak quesadilla. The calamari was bland and very processed. The steak in the quesadilla was rubbery and had large chunks of tomato. It was very strange. Service was excellent! And the atmosphere was very fun. Will return and try a sandwich or burger next time.Kid-friendliness: Took 11 year old for niners game. She had fun and liked the atmosphere.“

“First time here. Can only review the Burger. SUPER-GOOD. One of the best take out burgers I've ever had. They get really busy. So if you're getting take out I would order ahead. Kinda a local best kept secret. Very nice efficient staff. The sandwiches/burgers come with choice of sides but you can get them without the side if you like. I also appreciate you can get half or whole orders of fries etc. They have Chili Cheese fries oh my! Went to Shake Shack tonight. Should have went here. Much better and BIGGER. “I cant say enough about Layla at MacArthur Place! My mom and her partner went to Layla for their anniversary as they had been spending the weekend in Sonoma. They were staying at a different hotel and didn't have the best experience, so they needed a special evening to restore their spirits. The team at Layla gave them more than they could ever imagine! My mom said the food was out of this world, and that it was the most decadent meal she had ever experienced. The Executive Chef and service team went above and beyond to make their evening special, acknowledging their anniversary, providing top notch service, and crafting food and beverages that blew them away... even paying attention to dietary restrictions and creating food and beverages that honored their needs.I have eaten at Layla myself and had an amazing experience with delicious unique dishes and quality service, so I was happy to send my mom there for her special night. I just didn't imagine how incredible the staff would be to make their evening truly unforgettable.Thank you Layla team - you better believe I will be back and keep recommending you!“

“A small little viby bistro on Main Street in St Helena is worth a stop. The restaurant is clean and tidy with chill decor. Tables with tablecloth and proper napkins gives this restaurant an upscale feel. The service is quick and friendly. The menu is a nice size and the wine list is as well. The menu confused me a bit with the choices of ravioli, fish and chips, a burger and tacos in the same menu but it kinda worked. The food came out quiclkly and hot. The burger was noshed down quickly as was the fish and chips. The artichoke was a bit wet even though it was grilled. The pumpkin ravioli was tasty but a bit too sweet. The wines we chose were good quality and went well with the food. All in all a good experience. Caution: parking is not that easy to find and you may have to walk a bit.“
“We enjoyed a wonderful dinner (Jack was an outstanding server!) and the trout was the best I've ever had- everything was delicious and appealing. Breakfast was also lovely- we had the chicken & waffle as well as the breakfast sandwich - definitely recommend dining here!!“
