“Real rating is 4.5. The service and atmosphere are great. You can tell this place is popular....theres a big wait (maybe an hour) on popular days. The waiters are well trained and the staff is lovely. The big platter of spare ribs in the sweet brown sauce topped with melted cheese was absolutely delicious, but I think $100 was a little steep in price. Same for the soup bowl. $75 just seemed too much, and the soup didnt taste quite as good to me as the brown meat and cheese bowl. But, again, the brown bowl was superb!Anyway, you should definitely come check this place out if you have a night out planned.“

“I really love this place. The tofu soup is so good and the tofu is top quality. Typically when my family and I come, we order the dumpling tofu soup and beef short ribs. Each dish counts as an entree so each person gets a bonchon tray. The bonchon tray includes kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, purple rice, japchae, fish cake, and cold tofu. The kimchi is one of the best I've had in a while and you can tell it's made fresh. Everything else is great but I've noticed inconsistencies with the japchae - sometimes it's too sweet and other times, it's fine. This place usually gets pretty busy so it's best to come a little before dinner time to beat the crowd.“

“I was very anxious to try this restaurant based on the fact that they advertise juicy fried chicken. In my experience with many other restaurants, chicken has a tendency to either be over cooked or under cooked. bb.q Chicken in Milpitas delivered exactly what they promised, thoroughly cooked, tasty, juicy fried chicken. They offered several flavors to add on to the chicken orders. All the flavors sounded great but that particular day I was feeling like having spicy food so I chose the Red Chak Chak which is in powder like form and the chicken is rolled on the top half of the chicken. I was pleasantly surprised how good the spice and seasoning were. As for the French fries, I thought they were delicious as well. The real surprise was the pickled radish and how yummy it was. It added a sweetness that enhanced the flavor to the already delicious chicken. Customer service was excellent!!! The host was very accommodating and patient as I could not make a flavor choice for the chicken. He politely explained in detail all of the tastes individually which helped me make up my mind. Again Red Chak Chak is a bit spicy .“

“Lunch specials are under $10 is a rarity, but at My No. 1 Tofu a Korean/Japanese restaurant they have a $8.95 lunch special for those on a tight budget only available on the weekdays from10-3 and they do have a special offer tofu soup comes with ramen a few dumplings and an added egg for that extra taste $9.95 you can choose mild or spicyness and I tend to be more budget conscious so I chose both. Came by on a Thursday morning and was greeted by young lady don't know if she was the owner or not, but she was nice enough to offer me a cup of tea chicken teriyaki sounds good comes with two gyozas, one inari stuffed rice in a tofu pocket a bowl of rice and salad. The main dish was the tofu ramen soup serve on a hot stone pot along with a bowl of rice several side dishes. The soup was fulfilling flavorable enriching and delightful consist of mild broth tofu was soft as well as the dumplings they were extremely generous and she refill my cup of tea along with the side dishes commonly known as banchan loved the stir-fried fish cakes (eomuk bokkeum) seasoned spinach, stir-fried zucchini, kimchi and japchae commonly known as glass noodles as well spicy cucumbers and spinach. They even have their house special served with rice under $15, appetizers, party tray, noodles and sushi rolls. By the way they no longer served salad bar nevertheless this is one place you can dine out not overspend. For my meals was around $20 and gave her a tip for her service polite as she made sure I was satisfied and I thank her in Korean (kamsahamnida).“

“EMA Karaoke & Bar in San Jose is a vibrant spot for a night out, offering both an open bar area and individual rooms for rent. The karaoke experience here is a blast, with a diverse selection of songs to choose from. However, if you're expecting gourmet cuisine, you may find the food to be just average. As the night progresses, the bar tends to get crowded after 9 pm, so it's best to arrive early to secure your spot. Despite the crowds, the energy is infectious, adding to the overall excitement.“

“incredible sundubu jjigae! i ordered the option with beef and it was very tasty. I wish the spicy was more spicy than it was, but it has a generous kick to it. the bring you eggs on the side to crack into your tofu soup if you'd like. the food came out boiling and the banchan was good, especially the japchae. i can't believe tofu soup is almost $20 though. & the non-meat option is the same price as the options with meat. there was a small wait when i came on a saturday afternoon. the place was completely full (always a good sign). overall, id come back!“

“Service was attentive without being intrusive. Staff were courteous and kind, explaining the food as it was served to us and even offering extra dishes but this was likely because we came on the first night of the new month as they were removing certain items from the menu. Delectable food and calming ambience. One of the best dining experiences I can remember.“

“Getting to the important part is the flavor. Soy garlic and medium spicy wings were ?. I would say the soy garlic was the best of the two and that the medium spicy tastes like semi spruced up gochujang sauce type of heat. Not spicy at all.Price to portion wise, they are pricey for wings. ~$18.99 for 8 pieces feels a little high but I think the value is there. Flavor ✅ , crunch ✅, worth it ✅. Tried the magic fries, I’ve seen from an earlier post that it’s sugar , onion powder, and garlic powder on top of the fries. It’s nice but it was ok. Texture of the fries were a little soft instead of being crispy. My only beef is $2.00 for ranch. The spot is pretty much a Togo place since all the tables and chairs are all bunched to the side.Worth a shot to try out!“

“This place is so good. If you work in the North San Jose/Santa Clara/Milpitas tech circle, you've gotta stop by on your lunch break. I ordered online for pick up (they close at 1:30, so be sure to go before then) and I just grabbed it off the counter when I got there. Cute little shop located around autobody and small warehouse stores, you might miss it. But you shouldn't. Parking gets a little tough, but I just pulled my car in front real quick and hopped out. Onto the food. I got the bulgogi sandwich because some other Yelper had a very appetizing photo...and I did not regret it. Seriously, it smelled so good that I had to whip the sandwich out at the stoplight on Montague Expressway to catch a glimpse. Perfectly tender, salty, sweet bulgogi with the nice sour and spicy jalapeño- it couldn't be beat. I couldn't even wait to get back to my desk at work to eat it, I finished it in my company parking lot. Everything in San Jose is expensive now and this isn't the exception, but this is definitely going on my lunch time rotation- sorry Mendocino Farms.“

“Great atmosphere for a date night! We ordered the salmon tartare, rose tteokbokki, and kfc cauliflower for appetizers. All of them were great but I was most impressed by the tteokbokki! We followed with the short ribs and the basque cheesecake dessert. They were good but the appetizers were more impressive. I was also disappointed that they no longer did the sweet potato chiffon cake :(“

“Service: for a busy Saturday, the servers are multitasking with taking orders, cleaning, getting the bill, and delivering orders from the kitchen. Yet they still managed to wipe down the high chair when we requested one. That's a first! They were also friendly and checked in to see if everything is okay. Food: everything was great. For those who like a bit of a crisp rice bottom on their stone bibimpap, they got it here. There's also a cute mini gochujang sauce bottle on the side so you can decide how much to add. The seafood pancake had a lot of squid in it, and very crispy fresh without feeling over greasy. Ambiance: not much going on. Some tvs broadcasting old kpop on loop. Definitely a lot of Koreans eating here so you know it's good.“

“I was in the area so I came here for a late lunch and I was so impressed by the interior remodeling!! I think the last time I came was more than a year ago, so I was definitely surprised. I got my favorite, Galbi Tang, and it was well seasoned, with small pieces of meat (which I preferred over the huge chunks) and definitely filling. I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take pics of the food!! Definitely the place to go for traditional Korean soups.“

“This spot is so good! It's open until midnight as well. I got their CC Chicken Dupbop bowl to go and the portions were huge! I like that you can choose a rice option in which I got the Kimchi rice similar to Korean fried rice. Food was very good, chicken was sweet and spicy, and had the right amount of crunch. The interior was also very nice, it had a lot of Kpop vibes. It was also quite lively at nice. The staff were super friendly and very helpful! I'll definitely be coming back soon.“

“Love love this place. My first time. I have had lots of Korean food before. But the seafood pancake and seafood dolsot bimbimbap are unmatched. The pancake was crispy inside out. The stone pot, the video showed it all - the crispy rice bottom can be easily scraped off and tasted more like Rice chips (yum!) Worth noting and very surprising is how tasty the Shrimp in that stone pot. Almost like they have been marinated (and may be they were :)) Outstanding and authentic Korean food. This place is super busy with so many people and also lots of takeout orders. Good sign for the food quality. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes!“

“Very delicious food. Atmosphere was great, the place felt nice, almost formal, and the service was attentive. They serve you green tea in addition to any drink you want, which was a nice touch. Be aware that the meals seem to be eaten family style, as there is a lot of food for what you pay for. The orange beef and prawn chow mein plus meat dumplings was enough for a small family. It was very delicious, I will definitely be returning!“

“The first time I had Rice Junky was actually at their second location in Santa Clara. I'm an East Bay fella so South Bay is a little bit of a reach for me. I've been having cravings for Rice Junky lately so I decided to check out their Fremont location. First off just want to note that this location is take out only. It's a pretty small spot. BUT that doesn't take away from the fact that the food is so so dam good! It was everything that I remembered and loved from the first time I had Rice Junky. At first, looking at the bowl. I was like "oh man, they give you less chicken here." Nope, I was absolutely wrong. Under that top layer of chicken was much more yummy sauced up chicken! Rice Junky is great, The bowl is fantastic. Portion is just right, slightly above average actually. Little pricey, but honestly with inflation nowadays. Food everywhere is expensive so meh. I just wished they stayed open later like their Santa Clara location. I gotta try all their other items. Only been loyal to the CC bowl so far. But the bowl is dam good!“

“This late-night Korean eatery in the Bay Area offers a solid dining experience, although service can be slow due to limited staffing late at night. The interior exudes a cozy atmosphere, although it can get warm inside until the door is left open for ventilation. While the banchan lacked some flavor, it wasn't a significant issue. The Kimchi Beef Tofu Soup, rated 4.3 out of 5, provides a satisfying kick at medium spice level with ample portions of mushrooms, beef, and tofu. While it may not be the most flavorful tofu soup, it remains a dependable choice for any craving. The Half Order BBQ Short Ribs, rated 4.7 out of 5, offer a delightful Korean BBQ experience. The option for half portions is appreciated, and the dish is well-prepared overall. However, there's room for improvement in ensuring the onions on the plate sizzle and cook more thoroughly.“

“Small cute, hood service. I had the sashimi special. It was very good. Fresh buttery selection by the chef . Ordered the veggie tempura. Didn't like the breading or the dipping sauce: veggie selection was good. Miso soup was ok but 3 very small squares of tofu. I prefer a more robust recipe. Ordered a very nice orange roll to go. Again salmon was yummy. Price seemed ok for lunch. Since I enjoyed the roll/ sashimi I will visit again.“

“Second trip here so I thought I'd review it. I got a small box of taiyaki (little fish waffles) before and they were piping hot and fresh - yum! This time we got the ah boong, which is a larger fish waffle with soft serve ice cream - either the waffle is used as a cone, or else it's served "upside down", meaning in a cup on top of the ice cream. The waffle is good, but not as fresh, since they are not made to order like the taiyaki. Also we ordered ours with custard, but there was hardly any in it. Soft serve ube ice cream was good, though not strongly flavored or super rich, but still good. Minimal seating inside - there's plenty outside if the weather is not but we went right after it rained so the chairs outside were wet, so keep that in mind if the weather is extremely hot or wet for outside seating. 5 stars except for one deducted for the missing custard and also I wish they'd put more info on the menu for newbies who may not know what taiyaki, ah boong, or "upside down" means!“

“So ecstatic to have a Seolleongtang place not too far away. This is great for any occasion but especially perfect for cold or rainy days, the soup will just warm you up.The menu is pretty straight forward, mostly soups but you can also get a few other types of dishes like galbijim here. You can't really go wrong with any of the soups here, but there is a distinct difference with Seolleongtang and the galbitang. The main difference between them is whether ox bone has been used. Galbitang is a clear beef soup made by boiling galbi--while seolleongtang is beef bone soup made by boiling the shank, the head and other scraps of bone until the broth turns milky white. The seolleongtang will also come unseasoned and you can add salt/pepper to your taste while the galbitang will come seasoned.Their side dishes are also delicious, I particularly love their kimchi, pairs perfectly with the seolleongtang. There are plenty of tables and the service is great, highly recommend if you're looking for a nice warm soup!“

“I've been wanting to try this place since middle school and that was 10 years ago. Safe to say, I have finally tried it. It didn't disappoint either! Service was alright, it took a bit of time to flag down our host. There's a ton of seating but luckily we didn't have to wait because it wasn't busy at all. What we ordered: Bibimbap (not hot stone): 5/5 There's tons of veggies and protein!!! For the price, it is very worth it. Budae Stew: 2/5 I was expecting a hot stone or a bigger bowl of it considering the price, this wasn't worth it. There was barely any tofu or noodles, mostly broth. Overall, I would be back for the bibimbap!“

“A lady pushing a stroller who was waiting in line with me for the mall bathroom just asked me what this place sold, I said "it's grilled fish with ice cream." She was surprised and said, "Oh interesting!" I corrected myself and said it was "batter poured into metal fish molds." She thought that sounded delicious so together we went! It was my first time trying this location.Since all the Somi Somi locations I have been to only have take-out, I like this location because it is in a temperature-controlled mall. I prefer it to eating ice cream outside in freezing temperatures and even to eating outside in warm weather because everything melts so fast. You also have more open mall space to wait. This location is bright and clean. It had one flavor that the Cupertino location didn't currently have. My favorites are the cheese taiyaki and the red bean soft serve.“

“Authentic Korean soondubu (soft tofu soup) and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake)I love ordering their Seafood Soft tofu soup in medium and their seafood pancake. Their dishes have the right flavor and is not overly salty like at different soft tofu shops. The seafood pancake is also perfectly made with the right crunch on the outside and is not soggy. Their appetizer side dishes are also tasty, filling and can be refilled. Love the fish cake! They accommodate dietary restrictions and I usually order the vegetarian / seafood broth as the broth usually is made with meat. This location out of their Palo Alto, Milpitas, and South San Jose locations is the original and the best.“

The texture, flavor, the coldness of the noodle all in one bowl was absolutely delicious!!! You must try that dish when visiting here. I devoured that bowl of food. You are able to adjust the spicy level. I personally loved it without much spicy too it so it doesn’t over kill the flavor already in the bowl of ingredients. Perfect meal for warmer weathers but I enjoy cold stuff in cold weathers. Their kimchi fried rice was delicious too! “Food so good you'll be wanting some MO!!! Came in on a Wednesday around 2:15ish and it wasn't too busy. The interior is clean, fun, and very vibe-y! There's plenty of seating and service was super quick! The food was SO GOOD. If I lived in San Jose, I would be here often for sure. FOOD: 〰 Yangnyum (양 념) sweet & spicy red sauce wings (5/5): You can get adjust the spice level on these and my bf and I decided to go with the spicy. SO GOOD! The wings were crisp and flavorful. I would 1000% get these again !!! 〰 Creamion (양 파 크림) Creamy onion wings (5/5): I saw other reviews talking about how good this flavor was and they were not lying. I've never had this flavor before but it is delish! They don't skimp on the sauce and it's incredibly decadent and full of flavor. Even with the sauce though, the wings are still crisp. I would get these again too!!! 〰 Tofu Soup 순두부 (5/5): You can adjust the spice level on this and what kind of protein you want! My bf and I decided to go with spicy for the spice and mandu as the "protein". This dish is so incredibly comforting. It comes with a side of rice, kimchi, and seaweed. I absolutely loved this dish. “Food is great, late night availability is even greater. It's nice to have a place to go to late in the evening, especially one with a nice atmosphere as this. I've got no complaints about the food, but the service is on the slower side. Both times I went I averaged about a 30 minute wait between sitting down and my food arriving. If you're not in a rush, then the food is worth the wait.“

“This place has been one of my all time favorite Korean bbq spots. We especially loved it when they had the AYCE buffet back in the day. We loved this place so much, we even booked out the entire restaurant for our wedding rehearsal dinner a few years back! (Owners: If you're reading this, please bring back the AYCE!). Food is still great, but having just a set menu sucks. And prices have steadily crept up too. Dinner for 2 is now $65 for the combo that is similar to their AYCE option. Tried their new fried chicken wings. It was hot and crispy. But I definitely did not need to add that $20 to my bill. The food in the combo was more than enough to get you full.“

“The food was exceptional. It would be a go-to for something to ease your hunger as soon as possible, as most of the orders are efficiently delivered. No doubt, as foodies, me and my family enjoyed the food overall, but what was significant was the number of vegetarian options. In Korean cuisine, there aren’t so many of them… However, at BibimBowl, we found around as many no-meat options as meaty options in each category. For people who prefer to get something with no gluten, they provide a wide range of gluten-free dishes as well.Everything, from service to food to ambience, was great. It felt welcoming, like something that would stay with you forever. “Seafood Tofu is pretty good. I always get spicy for my soup and they make it spicy enough for the kick and not overpowering. The broth had the right taste of the cooked seafood of shrimp and clams. They add on egg that pretty much cook though so breaking the yolk wasn't possible. Maybe I'll ask them to stir it next time or leave it out. “Having grown up and living in the South bay for most of my life, it’s comforting knowing that the owner who operates this restaurant has not changed in the 30+ years they have been in business. The food and service here are excellent. The only thing is parking can be a challenge sometimes. My friends and I usually order the combo 4 with doenjang stew (fermented soybean). Her kimchi and doenjang stew is the best in the South Bay. And if you want the teobokki that is like you get in Korea, they make it with the perfect blend of spicy and sweetness“

“Decided to try this place based on reviews from other Koreans. They didn't steer us wrong. The Jajjangmyun is very good, especially considering it's not our go to, Gan Jajjangmyun which is a prepared per order sauce. Chef Yu in Oakland is still our fav but this is up there and ahead of everywhere else between Oakland and here in our opinion. Sauce leans on the slightly sweeter side, just slightly.Tang su yuk was tender, and the coating was great. Nice and crisp but not overly thick like many other places. I hope they can remember that and not deviate years from now. Sauce is thick but not overly gooey like some other places. Could use a little more zip/tang but that's minor and just for my taste, wouldn't stop us from ordering it again and again.Mul naengmyun was good, beef was excellent. Depending on your taste you might find the broth too vinegary and perhaps salty but again, it depends. I usually add vinegar but this didn't need it, might be more than others like to have. They should consider putting less in the base so customers can tailor it to their taste. Otherwise I enjoyed it and want to try the spicy version next time.Bottom line, this is our new go to Korean place if we're anywhere nearby. FYI it's not a BBQ restaurant. Hope to try their wings and soup next time.“
