The food was amazing. The service was average at best. I'll preface my review and ratings by saying they self-identify as “high end” and “high end” wasn't in the room with us. I was dining alone and sat at the sushi bar. I was asked water preference right away and got a bottle of sparking water. When delivered I asked for some lemon or lime. Server asked if I wanted a little time with the menu and I said yes. 10 minutes later he checks in and did not have my lemon or lime and took my order. Lemon/lime shows up about the same time as my meal. I ordered a cocktail right after ordering my meal and I was about half way finished eating before it arrived. I honestly thought they'd forgotten. It was delicious, recommend the Japanese Vesper if you like a Vesper martini. I ordered a dessert, tofu two-ways. I got a dessert spoon delivered right after ordering. It was the size and depth of a soup spoon, but I was trusting the process. My dessert was served and was divinely wonderful. However, the spoon was so deep that it made it really difficult to eat the cheesecake. I hadn't ever thought about it but I think cheesecake is normally a fork thing?? I could've dealt with that and left cheesecake at the bottom of the spoon on each bite, not that big of a deal but the spoon was too large to fit into the second of the “two-way” tofu desserts. I literally couldn't eat it with the utensil I was given. When the server came to check on me I asked if I could get a spoon that would fit into the little glass he brought me one. Oddly no acknowledgement that I had the wrong spoon or that I should have had a second utensil so I could eat both parts of the dessert, just sat down on the bar for me and left. Got the bill, paid, left. I cannot imagine myself ever coming here again. I wanted to love it. Amazing service can elevate basic food for an overall wonderful dining experience. In this case, poor service took great food and degraded it to an overall mediocre dining experience.

We had to wait 20 minutes for a table that was reserved well in advance. Server was so dismissive.Took forever to get menus. Appetizers arrived soon. Food was great. 20 minutes between appetizers and food- not great! No one came to ask if we wanted anything else. Water refills, nothing . We were close to the bar and there was a patron there who thought she was in her backyard. Loud talking and just overall obnoxious. Finally Asked the manager if we could get menus for desert. Then no one came back for another 10 minutes to ask if we wanted anything. Asked for the check that came right away. The service was overall awful because we were a group of 7 and they add gratuity. What they probably don't realise is that the 20% they add increases if we order more food. It was just such a disappointing experience. We were celebrating 2 anniversaries. Not 1 mention of that!! Someone came to the table to ask how it went and we told him he said he's the new AGM and he's going to give me his card and he's so sorry for the delay etc etc. Never saw him again. Who does that?!?! We have been here every time we visit Napa which is at least 1-2 times a year. Will definitely not be back to spend &500 for this awful experience. If u want good food, this is the place. If you want to actually have a normal dining experience, go elsewhere.

Most of our party did the omakase for a birthday occasion. The nigiri was some of the best on the planet. It was extremely noisy and hard to hear the waiter and each other - would love if something could be done about that.

Service was outstanding & our waiter was very attentive. Runners were continually clearing our table to ensure we had ample room. Food was delicious and fresh. Excellent drink selection as well.

The waitress and staff we awesome. Food recommendations were great. The yellow tail and eel were great. Waitress recommended a great sake to go with it. The sorbet and restaurant blend of coffee was a great way to end the night. Forgot to mention the wagyu appetizer. Melt in your mouth good.

It had been some time since we visited Morimoto's spot in Napa. I dare say it has gotten better, and that is not to say our prior experience was anything less than excellent. The food and service are top-notch. The portions are more than generous, so a family-style ordering strategy night would be best unless you are really hungry.

Had an amazing dinner with my husband and our two kids (5.5 and 4). The food was incredible. The menu seems smaller than it used to be, but still had good choices. There is not a kids menu, but they got the miso soup and duck fat fries and were happy. My son even tried the salmon roll and loved it. Service was great, our water was always filled and everyone was so nice. Can't wait to come back again.

We had a magnificent meal for our first night in Napa. The chocolate bomb for desert was fantastic as well as fun. I wish the dining room was quieter but I am not sure that is a reasonable expectation.

It was a very promising visit. But...I'm disappointed. Is it really under Chef Morimoto's control? Sushi rice & fishes was soso. but...we ordered some roll togo . No chopsticks&Napkins inside ? Oh~~no. We're staying at hotel...?

Did not live up to expectations. Huge fan of Chef Morimoto and followed his career on television and cook books. But, the food was not at the level I thought it would be. Like the Rock Shrimp Tempura, I feel like you could get a similar dish at a seafood chain restaurant. Especially for the prices, I was expecting more flavorful and unique dishes.

Lovely birthday dinner. We sat outside so it wasn't noisy. Our server Michael was the absolute greatest. Every staff member we interacted with was very friendly. We got the ox tail and a few sushi rolls (spicy salmon and solder shell crab). The best was the wagyu carpaccio and the flaming chocolate dessert. Would recommend sitting outside of the weather permits. All in all we had a great time.

New menu included surf and turf sushi roll torched at table side (recommended). Pinot Noir by the glass selections very tasty. No time for dessert however all dishes were served very timely and fresh. Will definitely return to try other dishes and dessert.

Honestly, such an awful experience. We each ordered the omakase and you would think there would be an effort for a stellar experience when spending a combined $400 on dinner. Our server barely checked on us, dinner took 2.5 hours and we waited over 30 minutes between courses. They had runners bring the food and explain what we were eating in barely above a whisper which in an extremely loud dining room meant we didn't know what we were eating or how we were supposed to eat it. Our raw fish course (I have no idea what it was) was room temperature, our black cod was also room temperature, my husband's steak was chewy and cold, my seafood stew was so hot and the shellfish was so overcooked it was almost inedible. When they dropped my husband's steak they told him it was wagyu (an optional upcharge he had declined) when we called our waiter over to double check, he moved the steak around with a knife and said he better hope that was what it was but confirmed we had not been charged for it, I hope it wasn't because he said it was almost inedible. Our drinks sat empty for over an hour and it was only after we had called the server over to deal with the steak that he noticed and asked if we would like to order another round. Pretty upsetting when you are just sitting there waiting for 40 minutes and you can see your server chatting at the computers. This is an instance where if the service had been better and the experience felt like the big birthday celebration that it was, we probably would have been more impressed with the food. With everything outside of the food being such a bad experience, it ended up making the food feel subpar. We had so been looking forward to this meal and planned our weekend around it only to leave feeling so incredibly disappointed. I will never be back.

Excellent on all fronts. Our server, Kip, was exceptional. He knew when to give us time and when to approach us. Recommendations were wonderful. Great experience over all. Highly recommend!

The plastic chopsticks were not easy to use. They don't grip the food the way wood does so we ended up having to use silverware and fingers since even the rolls were sliding free of the chopsticks. This needs to be looked at. I get plastic is easier to sanitize than wood but then maybe warn diners in advance that they should bring their own if they want wood instead of plastic OR get a plastic that has textured edges so that it's easier to hold onto food. We were expecting a fabulously different flavor for all the Wagyu meat options but we really couldn't tell the difference and paid dearly for that experience. A sushi roll containing it was $41 vs. $18 for example. Our appetizer was also quite pricy for something that was also not anything special. I am not sure if it's more of a RICH PERSON thing to order and brag about this but for an average consumer, not used to paying that much for things but looking for an adventure with food exploration, to pay that much, the experience should be worth the cost itself and it wasn't. I would recommend it with warnings about the cost and the chopsticks and to bring their own bottles of Sake...they are very marked up!
