“This is the place if you like eggtarts! This is comparison of Ruby’s eggtart & Napoleon. If you like more crust, then Ruby is the one to go to. The custard is not too sweet, soft and not too eggy as well.Plenty of seats available, coffee /tea is $2-3, with option to refill for $1.Friendly folks tooAnd I enjoyed the fact that Ruby serve warm egg tarts.Highly recommend“

“This is one of our local favorites! Interesting donuts and excellent coffee. For the Boston Creme lover, they use the correct pastry creme in their donuts! I could review almost every one of their donuts, but to summarize, they are crafted with high quality ingredients and love. The employees seem to genuinely enjoy being there. The space is small and they ask that only 3 groups be in the building at a time. But on wet days they've generally put up a pop up.Parking: This is a smaller area in Oakland and the parking isn't always convenient. Most of the time the people are walking up, it's a little hidden gem.Kid-friendliness: I see kids in here all the time. They love picking their own donuts!“
“Excellent bakery with delicious, beautifully produced pastries and cookies. Highly recommend the custard topped, strawberry jam filled pastry and the Ube croissant. The matcha cream filled pastry was a little overwhelmed by the sweetness and abundance of the topping, but if you have a sweet tooth like me, it's heaven. The flavor of the topping was still very good and it looked gorgeous! My husband was disappointed by the ham and cheese croissant and said he thought it could have used a little more filling. If you are familiar with Bake Sum on Lakeshore, you will know what to expect in terms of flavors, textures and types of pastries available.Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood but side streets are a good option.Parking: Use side streets“

“I stopped in for a quick to-go coffee while I was waiting for my pending bus on the opposite side of the street. Once the staff figured out that I was in a rush to get to the bus stop, they were accommodating and helped me get my coffee quickly. I would like to come back here to sit and work or read, it has a good variety of seating options and seems like a nice place to people watch.“

“I been here several times for the chicken sandwich or salad when "I'm watching" it ? . The slaw served with chicken is unique. Not cream based but some type of vinegar dressing. The desert menu is growing. This is what's left of my banana cream pie. It was light and fresh. Nice thick crust like graham crackers really supports the banana and custard. Banana wasn't too thick and had a nice chocolate shaving on top. Line outside moves quick.“

“Great coffee! You can tell the guys who work there have a friendly repertoire with their customers. Best coffee in the area. I’ll be back every time im in town. Pastries are great too. I’ve had the bacon scone and the muffin and both were fresh and well done. I love the 89 but I drink it too fast so I usually get an iced latte. Or both.“

“Perfect place to grab satiating lunch and dinner when on-the-go AND on-a-budget. Discovered this place on a trip and have been coming back ever since. Communication can be quite tricky but you can also point out what you want and they’re very generous with their portions. The food is really good from the fried chicken/pork to the rice, noodles, vegetable stir fry, shrimp, etc. The lines can be long during lunch rush but they work to get you in & out as quickly as possible“

“Their pastries were pure perfection. Cannot go wrong with anything, even the mochie bites had insanely great texture and flavor. Everything was soo good. Loved their mochi bites, milk buns, and croissants. Will try to catch them earlier to try their other pastries. Also had great coffee and nice cozy atmosphere.“
