“Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my GOD Oaktown Kabob is my new go to SPOT for the most amazing and authentic Afghan cuisine in the East Bay. I absolutely love their Chapli Burgers here and I also tried the combo plate that comes with juicy tender chicken kebob and beef skewers that is absolutely to die for. One you put in your mouth you will start dancing like Michael Jackson may even get high on it.This place just opened up I guess a few days ago and they are already very busy and I'm sure soon there will be a line here and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. It's a small family owned business and Farzad one of the owners was very welcoming and had a huge smile taking my order and was cracking jokes. I'm got addicted to their food once I tied it. He sure wasn't kidding and I will be heading back Sunday to take my family and order their Lamb shank that he promise it will make me wanna order another round once I try it. As long as they serve this kind of delicious and flavorful Afghan food I will be a life time customer.Wishing all this family owned restaurant a huge success and I'll make sure to let all my friends and families know about Oaktown Kabob. Also before I forget their prices are also very reasonable and they do catering for parties as well.“

“Best eggrolls I've ever had ! Hands down. You have to try the cheesesteak eggrolls. They're thee best. They also have crab and shrimp eggrolls which are goodt but not as good as the cheesesteak. So flavorful. There may be a wait but it's definitely worth it. The lemonade is good as well. You gotta catch them when they're open though. You won't be disappointed.“

“It's been many years since I've been to this Cheese Steak shop on Lakeshore in Oakland. They've remodeled and they now have their menu above the cashier area that's hard to read (prices are small too). I miss the menu that used to be on the wall because it was easier to stare at to figure out my options. And before, they used to offer you a 10" or a 12". When I asked how big a medium was, the cashier showed me with her hands and said it was around 6". Anyway... it was all new to me so I just asked for the standard size. I ordered the spinach/mushroom and my husband ordered the steak hoagie. We shared a small order of curly fries. Order came to a little over $30. Definitely as tasty as I remember (I forgot to say to go light on the hot peppers). My biggest issue was trying to figure out the menu options. Service was fine. Order came out quickly. Place was clean. Still as good as I remembered them to be!“

“Below no frills, faintly dirty, and brusk. And yet, if you want a (seldom purchased because you know, health) heart-attack in a roll, get the cheese steak deliciousness. I don't get the cheese, but even still, it is full of flavor and fat and complemented beautifully with a coke. I see why folks hail this as the best hoagie around.“
