“Hidden behind the hamburger sign, is a lovely local restaurant. The place has plenty of seats for the population of the town, and enough to handle skiers.A lot of locals hangout at this spot and it is quite lively on the weekends.Food wise is what one would expect from a small town. The price you pay is not bad for a four course meal. Not bad to stop by if you are hungry.“

“Just like I remember! Moved out of the area over 10 years ago and this is the pizza that all pizza gets measured! It was perfectly cooked and tons of toppings. New owners are very nice and we hope their business thrives. Keep up the good work!“

“This place was an amazing small business bakery. When we came, we were too late for their morning buns but everyone that we met said they are amazing. They had sandwiches and they were delicious and very fresh. They also gave us a vinaigrette to dip the sandwiches in for free even though they normally charge for it, and it was so good, perfectly complementing the flavors of the sandwich.“

The crust was amazing I value good pizza crust this crust was great and the ranch was also so good. The pizza we got was a half bbq and the other half white chicken . It was amazing, i don't usually like pineapple on pizza but the bbq pizza that had pineapple was great, We also got mango habanero wings which was really good as well. “The only breakfast in the area that is truly worth the wait. It's the highlight of our week whenever we're able to enjoy the comfort food at Rosebud's.Dietary restrictions: My friend is dairy free, and they were very accommodating where they could be.“

“Part of what I love about living in the foothills is access to cute little places like Ray's Pizza. Ray's is a take-and-bake pizza place with a drive-thru. Order at the window or call ahead. It was our first time trying them out so we ordered at the window. Since we came during the dinner rush on a Friday evening, we were given an estimated hour wait time. We ordered the following: a giant (16") boss lady combo pizza, a medium (12") garlic cheesy bread, and a small order of buffalo wings (6 pcs). Our total came out to less than $40 for everything, which is a really good price. We knew that a 16" pizza was going to be big, but we did NOT expect it to be that big when we brought it home, especially after baking. The instructions were easy to follow as all the items came with their own instruction sheet. THE WINGS: Instead of baking the wings, we chose to cook them in our air fryer! They turned out beautifully crispy and perfectly cooked. We have a Ninja air fryer, and we preheated it to 400 deg F for 3 min, then popped the wings in for about 12 min at 400 deg F. Optional but you can take them out and shake the basket halfway through for maximum crispiness. (This is what we did for our air fryer, your times and temperatures may vary). The wings came with a side of ranch, which we loved. We should have gotten another container of ranch, it was so good. The instructions also said to toss with more buffalo sauce if we wanted to, which we will follow next time. We wanted to taste the flavor of the chicken for our first experience. THE CHEESY GARLIC BREAD: We were intrigued to find out that the cheesy garlic bread was shaped like a pizza when it was given to us at the drive thru window. No complaints though, we just cut them into breadsticks at home after baking. They baked super quickly and had a beautiful golden brown crust. However, they weren't as garlicky as I had hoped, so I dipped them into the ranch and that elevated the flavor. I would get them again, but I would either serve them with ranch or marinara. THE BOSS LADY PIZZA: When I say that I'm having pizza for lunch for the rest of this week, I mean it. The crust expanded in the oven and usually I don't like thicker crust, but the dough at Ray's is still airy and light despite being thick (must be the high-elevation secret). The night that we made all of the food we got from Rays, we could only each finish one slice of pizza, and the rest (and some of the garlic bread) went straight into the fridge as leftovers. We did finish the wings that night though. Honestly for what we paid, I'm not even complaining. This pizza saves us money, so if you don't mind eating pizza for at least one meal for a week, you're pretty much set. Would we order the giant again? Perhaps, if we're feeling like it. But don't get the giant pizza if you just want to have pizza over the weekend. Now the flavor of the boss lady was deliciously spicy from the jalapeños and the chicken was tender. Even my leftover pizza tastes amazing and I heat each slice up in my air fryer (preheat to 400 for 3 min, then pop pizza in for 3 min at 400, take out to check, and in for one more min at 400; satisfying bubbling noises indicate that the pizza is done). The pizza, when reheated, is not dry at all, and the cheese remelts beautifully. In conclusion, I would like to try their other signature pizzas on my next visit, and their wings are also pretty great. The price point is also hard to beat. A sweet local find!“

“Visited this place yesterday while driving around the area and looking for wineries that were open during holiday Christmas week. Found this one and the place had some good wines. Good sparking wines as well and in a very quiet and nice atmosphere. The ambiance was nice and really quiet during the time we went so that was cool. The people were friendly and very welcoming and enjoyed this hospitality! Will definitely be back.“
“It just so happened I was interested in doing the Girl Scout pairing and I thought this was a different winery. I am glad I did ...we were told to have a seat and someone would be with us soon. I assumed it would take a while, but to my surprise a sweet girl name Migali I think that's her name ...greeted us right away with the pairings of Girl Scout cookies and wine she then explained every wine. A few moments later someone brought us some olive oil tasting with tiny bits of bread. They were sooooo good. I purchased the blackberry balsamic. Migali gave us a tour of the cave on the grounds where they have special dinners and events. It was a pretty good way to start our wine day!“

“Another wine tasting and another club membership! Such a great time getting to know the people running the show here. We were able to taste a good number of their wines, and we REALLY liked the white offerings they had. Subtle flavors and a great little cheese pairing to boot! We literally will be back because we joined the club!“

“We visited Frak's Cafe last Sunday for lunch and were thoroughly impressed. I ordered the all-meat omelet, and my girlfriend enjoyed the patty melt. Both meals were delicious, exceeding our expectations. The service at Frak's Cafe was exceptional; the staff was incredibly friendly and contributed to the welcoming, local ambiance. It's a gem of a place, and we're so glad we decided to stop by. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a warm atmosphere.“
“I enjoyed our visit to the Rombauer Vineyards in the Sierra Foothills on this rainy day today. We were impressed by the whole experience. The grounds are beautiful, including vineyards rolling across gentle slopes with mountains framing the backdrop, with trees, flowers, and both covered and uncovered seating and tables surrounding the tasting room, creating an ambiance of rustic elegance and a place to shelter from the rain.We were warmly welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer our questions and suggest tasting of the varieties of wine they produce. As we tasted the selection, I found the wine to be excellent across the board.By the end of our visit to Rombauer Vineyards, I felt not only that I had tasted some truly great wine in a gorgeous setting, but also that I had received genuine hospitality from a staff that cares deeply about the wine they make. I very much look forward to returning to these beautiful grounds to further explore their offerings! From the scenery to the wine itself and especially the friendly faces, Rombauer gives you an outstanding winery experience!“

“A very friendly place with great food and excellent service. You are made to feel a member of the family here. The pesto is excellent as is the fried chicken which is crispy, juicy and obviously freshly made. Salad is simple but fresh and made with care. We will go out of our way to eat here, highly recommended.“

“We had the best time here--small, quaint indoors, and beautiful outdoor seating. We did the cheese and wine pairing. Anna was there to help guide us through the tasting and was extremely thorough and attentive. I couldn't recommend this place more. We were advised about all the close restaurants and wineries we'd have to visit while we were there. The Sangiovese was a stand-out for a light but delicious wine and we couldn't leave without buying a bottle of port. I wish I had room to also bring home cheese but we didn't have a cooler that would sustain the weekend trip. If you get a chance, try the cumin cheese. Did you know blue cheese is outstanding with their port? Now you know.“

“We loved it here! Cool, lively place. Sports on the TV's. The food was great and the portions were very generous so prices are good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. My friend and I lovedddd our bloody Mary's (Motherload). Good ratios and the bacon was cooking perfectly and it has a sweetness to it. We were all very happy with our burgers/sandwiches as well. Great flavor, cooked with a little pink like we asked. My friend has the Amador burger which she said was not overly spicy. The waitress gave her a heads up that the jalapeños they use are pretty spicy so she got them on the side and she was right! So my friend was able to add the jalapeños to her burger to taste. At our table we ordered regular fries, sweet potato fries, and garlic parm and they were all awesome! Cooked perfectly with a little crisp but not too much. Would definitely come back here!“

“Pretty decent sized meal for the price. We are kinda stuck on getting the chicken parm each time because we like it. Didn't receive veggies with our last to-go order, which was probably just oversight, but it should come with everything for the price paid. That keeps me from giving a 5 star review. Petty? yes, but personally I was craving the veggies along with my meal, so that's how it goes.“

“My family has been going to Backroads for many years. We live in El Dorado County, and we drive over to Sutter Creek just so we can enjoy this wonderful haven of food and comfort at Sinas Backroads. Exceptional quality! Thank you for your friendly atmosphere too!“
“Stunning winery grounds and some of my favorite wines! TDO is a few hours east of Napa Valley in Amador County/Sierra Foothills area. LOVE: - Their outdoor seating area is beautiful! If possible, have them seat you out there for your tasting to enjoy the views. - Their wines, of course! TDO consistently has some of my favorite reds at very reasonable prices. - The tastings themselves are much more affordable than in Napa Valley. - The winery cats are just the cutest and friendliest! - Friendly team members to greet you here. PASS: - I know this area is more casual, but a group of 4 standing at the tasting bar without a seating option was meh for me. I'd have rather been seated outside so we can enjoy the view. - The team member serving us was VERY chatty about her personal life, with less of a focus on sharing info about the wines themselves. - The tasting pours were 1oz and felt very tiny - a more standard 2-3 oz tasting pour would be more hospitable in my opinion. Taking photos of 1oz pours just looks sad. We still ended up bringing a case home because we LOVE their wines, but would definitely speak up for an outdoor spot next time!“

“Passed by this area on our way back from Kirkwood. The service was good, and they supply ample amount of chips to fill us up. The taste was not great, but not bad either. Bathroom was clean when we visited, which is a big plus if you are going back down to Bay Area after one long day of skiing.“

“Came back to this gem to get some comfort Chinese food. We got to chatting with the chef this time who also gave us recommendations on what to order. We got the hot and sour soup, deep fried eggplants, honey crispy prawns, mixed veggies, and garlic fried chicken. Everything came out within minutes and SUPER tasty! We got enough food to last us 3 meals haha. The restaurant was quiet and inviting, just like the last time we went :) we will definitely be back!“

“Went to Brickhouse Brews during Dandelion Days before heading up Highway 88 to Nevada. What a good choice it was! The place was packed but the service was still better than I would have anticipated. We had Skye who helped our every need. She recommended our food and drinks perfectly and provided us with a great atmosphere to enjoy our lunch. Also I must say...her fashion sense is out of this world! Thank you Skye and Brickhouse Brews!“

“Stopped here with my team after a basketball game 5 minutes before closing. Even though I was the only one there and they were cleaning everything up, the manager said he'd be happy to take my order because they were still open. The pizza was great, and we were able to feed the team for our two-hour drive home. A lot of places clean up and close down early nowadays. We were very happy to get something better than McDonald's for our ride home. Thanks, again!“

“Little bit like traveling back in time to a diner both in terms of the atmosphere and menu. The staff were pleasant and working hard and the place was packed, but they still did a great job. The food was a little heavy, but considering a few of us ordered dishes with country gravy- they hit their mark.Chicken fried steak and country skillet were good...but the texture of bothe the fried steak and potatoes weren't as crispy as I'd prefer. On the whole, a nice spot and step up from a Denny's.“

“Had lunch here on 12/5/2023. Ordered the Special "Sausage Omelette w/Biscuits & Gravy". Superb! The omelette was perfectly cooked, full of a particularly good sausage, with diced green bell peppers and tomatoes. The tomatoes were dry and not wet or soupy. The best surprise was the very tasty biscuits and delicious, light and well seasoned gravy. The best meal I've ever had there! I never ever order biscuits and gravy - but I won't make that mistake again!“

“We really like this Chinese place. When we bought a house up here from the Bay Area, we weren't sure we were going to be able to find good Chinese food up here. But we were so relieved when we found Golden Dragon. The food is so good! We love the fried rice and chow fun. And the servers are always attentive and nice. We are so thankful we found this place.“
“I wish they'd open back up sooner! Buddy o' mine & I went the other day to have a drink and a burger and were told by some locals it might be a while before re-opening... Hotel looks absolutely stunning from the outside though“
