“This restaurant is a tiny, cozy bistro serving up authentic Italian cuisine. The owner/chef hails from Italy. The bistro is set back from Main Street down a pedestrian walk way. I dined here a couple of months ago. Since it was for a reserved dinner party. I got to taste a variety of dishes, family style. The regular menu is by single serving size entree, no family style servings. They offer gluten free pasta dishes. Most of the pasta dishes contain dairy. The table ordered lemon chicken and gnocchi in bolognese sauce for the lactose intolerant folks. The menu stated the lemon chicken was made with a white wine and olive oil based sauce. But the sauce looked and tasted creamy with no noticeable lemon flavor. The sauce tasted very similar to the potato gnocchi del norcino white cream sauce. The chicken was a bit difficult to cut through with the knife that was provided. The knife cut like a butter knife. Also instead of the gnocchi in bolognese, the dish came out as gnocchi del norcino with cream sauce. The cream sauce was rich and creamy, it was yummy. I gotta say, this place is tiny. The tables are set really close to each other in the main dining room and in the semi-private room. Tight squeeze. And when it's a full house, it gets loud in there.”

“Enjoyed a late lunch here on our drive back from Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area. Didn't get to try their Lobster Bisque since they were out (Friday ~2pm), but our daughter loved their clam chowder. The Baked Brie was so delicious - served with warm bread, dried fruit, grilled onions and truffles. It was gone within a few minutes! For our mains, the crab cake sliders were fine, nothing spectacular. But their Salmon Salad was a hit! The salmon was cooked just right, not too dry, with a lightly sweet, refreshing dressing. I wish I could bottle up the dressing and take it home! We'll definitely be coming back when we're in town again.”

“Good food and drinks but they are the most expensive in town and are at the high end for Sacramento as well. A cheese burger and fries is $25. Pint of IPA $12. I ordered it medium rare. It came out well.”

A lot of rich history! $15 for 6 heavy pours of their available, and if you have the right server you may get a bonus pour of their favorite! Only intended to buy one bottle of wine, but couldn't decide on which one we liked best...”

“What a lovely accident. I was passing through and stopped to grab a bite to eat. On a Tuesday, I was able to walk in and be seated right away. Was met by great staff who was very kind and welcoming. The ambiance was set as a charming farmhouse. And the star of the experience was the food. It was fresh and well seasoned. I munched on the Cajun chicken sandwich, with a couple of modifications. (Don't hate me, but I'm a wuss when it comes to spice) highly recommend! I also had the clam chowder and focaccia! Yum yum yum!!! If you're in the area come here for good eats and good people!”

“Cute pub atmosphere - food is carefully prepared with attention to detail. My lamb burger came out a little too red for my liking (I don't think I communicated very well that I wanted it rather well done not at all pink) and rather than just cook it more they brought me a whole new order. It was delicious! Fries are super crispy, well seasoned and everything is very fresh. We had a wonderful lunch! Wait staff very attentive but did not hover. Excellent all over experience.”

“Very good place to grab breakfast or lunch or dinner. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Excellent place for kids, really for anyone who enjoys diner type food.Parking: About 25 spots, some are a bit tight if you have an SUV or pickup. We've always found parking around peak times for lunch.Kid-friendliness: Place always has lots of kids and families eating. They have a kid's menu and they bring food for kids in a cool 50s style car (made out of cardboard).”

“I went here with a friend. I'm not a wine person. She wanted to do a wine tasting.The grounds are stunning! The staff was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.My friend let me sniff the wines, and encouraged me to take a tiny sip. She said "maybe your palate changed."I liked 3 out of the 6 that I tried! I liked them so much that I signed up for a membership. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but I've always *wanted* to like wine, and this is the first wine that I've ever enjoyed! “We have made the trek from Sacramento to The Place a couple times now to meet with friends. It has been a great experience each time! The food is always yummy and there are SO many menu items to choose from. Most recently I ordered the mushroom risotto and had SO much leftover to enjoy at home. I also love the selection of local beers they have on tap. If you can on a nice day, I'd suggest sitting on the patio and enjoying the fresh air.”

“What a great stop to add to your list. Nello and his staff were super friendly, nice pours for tasting at a very reasonable price. They offered $5 off the tasting fee if you purchased a bottle, classy touch to their business. They were hosing a private tasting in another room but accommodated our party of 6 without hesitation. The wines were tasty but the Cali Mojo is a really nice spin on sangria with a ginger beer sass. Definitely look for it and give it a go, you won't be disappointed!”

“We only swung by for a bowl of chowder and a drink on Sunday morning. The atmosphere is really cool. The service was great and the soup was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!”

“We enjoy going to Henry's we have a favorite server Gabrielle, She kind and efficient and always does an amazing job. She is simple the best. Our last visit was not so impressive with regards to the food. I order the special monthly pasta dish. It was extremely bland. Obviously, they don't salt the water, so salt no flavor in the pasta. I asked for extra parmesan cheese, hoping to add additional flavor. Our poor server was embarrassed to have to tell me that they wanted me to pay an additional $2.00 for the cheese! I'm sorry, I am not going to pay for something that should have been done in the kitchen. She took my meal back; the manager came out and would not budge on the cost for the extra cheese. I refused to eat a bland dinner that should have been cooked and prepared properly before it arrived at the table. I opted for French onion soup. I got about halfway through the soup when I found pasta in it! It truly was a comedy of errors in a high-end restaurant. It was truly a disappointing meal. Unfortunately, consistency lacks frequently. If you are operating as a high-end restaurant the consistency is a must!”

“The wine was really delicious, but the inside vibe is very weird. The inside felt outdated with the red flooring and old furniture. However, the outside deck is gorgeous and has so much potential. I would suggest they play music in the background and have their workers know how to use the register better.”

So 4 stars for not warming the bread and the service can be iffy. I still love going here, I don't really eat carbs anyway. “The buffet restaurant at Red Eagle Casino is offering a special offer of $15 per person on Wednesdays. My friend told me that if you want to eat buffet, you must choose to eat at noon, because the sushi at noon is the most exquisite, with a wide variety and good taste. The sushi chef is very professional, and you can see new sushi varieties every time you go. My family now comes to Red Eagle Casino to eat buffet 2 to 3 times a week, especially for sushi. We choose to eat at noon on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The sushi on Sunday is very poorly made and there are few varieties. Makes it not worth the price on Sunday.”

This is a family ran establishment and they make sure you're well taken care of! Kit (mom in the kitchen) is someone so inviting and cares about her food. It is a wonderful blend of a neighborhood pub and a family friendly restaurant. “Popped by here after jury duty in Placerville and oh my... These sweet treats were perfect!! This place is such a cute little bakery with lots to choose from! I got their chocolate chip cookie, and it is just how I like them -- so soft, not too sweet, and almost like cookie dough! I also got the oatmeal thin mint cookie, which sounded interesting at first but wanted to try, and it was delightful! It's not too sweet and had a perfect balance with the mint. I also tried their coconut macaroons which were amazing! Reminded me of how my mom makes them! Thank you for such a wonderful treat! I definitely need to come back to try the gelato, which looked AMAZING.”

“I have purchased a couple of gift boxes from Lisa's Farmhouse Creations, and received one as a gift. Amazing taste, quality, and beautiful presentation. I love the variety, and having everything individually packaged makes them ship well and last longer. No products stick together! I am so thrilled with her products that I have a monthly order sent to my grandmother. She sends her something different every month, and even creates a sweet little note card to go on top. Can't recommend Lisa's shop enough. You will not be disappointed!”

“Corner spot is my favorite place in town!! The owners are wonderfully kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable. My absolute favorite is their Carmel frappe, but their lifted teas are soooo good too! Their donuts are delicious and if I could give more than 5 stars I would!! I'd recommend this place to any and everyone wanting a healthy option instead of going to Starbucks.”

“Love their tacos. The fish is not fried but still really tasty. Their al pastor is delicious (but saucey) and I like their chorizo too. Friend always gets the burritos because they are HUGE. BD gets their pupusas which comes with a fantastic slaw. I to the market for the seasoning on their chicken and to pick up simple items I'll need if I'm making food at home. Service has always been friendly. Please bring back the tables so we can eat there. I know it's tight sometimes but I miss the salsa and eating inside if it's rainy outside.”

“A small but mighty bakery! Tucked down a little shopping walkway on Main St, this bakery is a gem in Placerville! Everything is gluten free, but you'd never know it!All of the pastries I tried for my first visit were delicious. I tried the Entremet, Banana Walnut Maple Scone, Eclair, and a Meringue Lemon tart. They were all flavorful and moist.The staff was helpful and pleasant which is always a bonus!There aren't many good (any?) bakeries in Placerville so definitely consider them when looking for pastries!”

“I live in the area, and we eat here at least once a week! I had. Ever eaten Indian food before they opened up, now I am hooked. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I DO know the food is quite delicious. ! The husband/owner is very proud of his wife’s cooking! I can see why! “Greenhouse Cafe embodies all the best things that a local neighborhood cafe offers… tasty food served by the nicest staff.The signature menu items that I absolutely find to be the best around is the turkey club sandwich and eggs benedict. For the sandwich they use real fresh roasted turkey. Ohh that makes a huge taste difference. The bacon is cooked to a perfect crispness, no rare edges and not burnt either. The egg benedict’s hollandaise sauce is fantastic. Smooth with a just right consistency and emulsification. Flavorful, buttery with oh so slight lemon taste. The eggs are poached to treat you to a show of egg ooziness when pierced.On days they are short staffed, they tape a sign on the front door indicating that and apologizing for the possible longer service times. In any given day, you’ll probably see Claudia, the owner, working. She has a great friendly demeanor.Another thing to note is the bathroom situation. It’s located around the corner of the cafe. To access it, you’ll need to ask for the key. It’s kept clean.”

“Whistle stop yogurt has been a staple of quality frozen yogurt in placerville for years . Only 4 flavors to choose from , 2 that rotate every few days and chocolate/vanilla for the other 2 . Always amazing quality frozen yogurt . The toppings are many but the fall flat compared to other frozen yogurt places . All in all whistle stop is a good place to go if you want better than average frozen yogurt .”

“This burger joint is close to my home, so I have been a regular consumer. One favorite was the Chinese Chicken salad. Their limited hours makes it tough to eat there. They take no orders after 6:30 pm and close the indoor seating early as well. Recently, they raised their prices significantly. At these rates I would rather eat at a nicer place such as the Tap House or Brick Oven Pub.”

“We had the most beautiful and epic wedding at this venue and would highly recommend! Jordan and her team of coordinators were very helpful and communicative during the whole planning process and pulled off all our decor and last minute items super well! All staff is very friendly and approachable. The environment is casual , but classy and the surroundings are unmatched for unbelievable photos! Our guests all said it was one, if not the best wedding they've attended. The lake house is an added bonus as well and we plan to return to stay in their super comfy beds!”

“As someone with severe allergies (onions and garlic) its hard to find somewhere that understands when I bring it up. Tonight my husband and I went in and I asked the cashier what if anything I could possibly eat with my allergies (I fully understand that sometimes I cant eat at all the restaurants, but my husband can) and she went into ask the chef immediately. She was able to tell me what I was able to order and even went back multiple times to check that NOTHING in my food had any allergens. I got home and immediately tried the food and OMG it is so good!! I got a chimichanga with grilled chicken, lettuce and cheese only and it was made perfect; hubby got the wet burrito. I can't tell you enough how great the food was, but more so that the staff cared enough to make sure I had a good experience. Will definitely be going back soon!”

No one would even attempt it until Jojo's Bakery nailed it on their first try. My wife loved them the taste and texture were perfect she said. I will be coming back here for more!”

I've never had a bad pizza from Pizza Guys but this one was a Wow! It was so hot outside, I had it delivered instead of picking it up. It came sooner the was expected and it was still hot enough to eat right away! Even had leftovers which reheated and tasted great the next day.”

However, all of the food was very flavorful and heavy on the seasonings, so keep a glass of water by your side. “Since I was coming down the hill after a day hike in Placerville, I stopped by Hong Kong Inn to grab takeout to celebrate New Year's Eve. I was not in the mood to cook dinner and remembered this restaurant was nearby. The food was pretty good, Americanized Chinese style. They cook without MSG which I appreciate. I ordered the chicken fried rice and tangerine chicken. The fried rice was fantastic. The rice was light and fluffy with absolutely no oiliness. Very clean tasting. The pieces of chicken were cleanly cut pieces of light meat. The tangerine chicken was good. It was not overly sweet since they do not use HFCS sauces or MSG. The coating was not over floured and the chicken was moist. The menu has a hot chili pepper next to the tangerine chicken but you can ask for it to be cooked mild. Still yummy either way. The interior is a bit outdated but clean. The folks that work here are so darn kind. Another great thing about this place is the lunch ~$10.50 and dinner specials ~$13 are offered every day, not just on the weekdays.”

“I have to admit I am a sourdough snob! The bread was top notch! My sandwich was great I can't wait to go back and try something else. Staff were very friendly and food came out quickly and was reasonably priced. Looking forward to sampling more of their menu in the future”

“Very nice cashiers. I always order Drunken Noodles with Chicken but the other dishes look very good. Good portions to have leftovers if not too hungry. I always order ahead of time for takeout. You can also let them know if you want spicy, medium spicy or light to none. Medium spicy is great.Vegetarian options: I believe that all of the dishes have the protein as a addition, beef, chicken,and seafood. I don't know if the various sauces have animal broth or anything. I believe that curry season is vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Ask about MSG(?) that is very common in Asian food. Monosodium glutamate might be what some people have issues with.Parking: Main Street can be busy but there's a 3 level parking garage but parking charge. A closer free parking lot is kitty corner to the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: It's a small restaurant so limited space. I have no idea about a child menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, but small seating area. Around 25 people as a limit seating? Perhaps call ahead to ask if there is definitely space?”

“I just love this place! Great drinks! Great staff and service! Always never fail to put a smile on my face. The vibe of the place is just great and I love just watching the staff have fun. I can tell they are a little understaffed though but they def keep smiles on their face and work thru it!”

“Staff was nice. Place was clean and easy to find. Food was delicious. Sesame chicken was nice and crispy with a nice sauce. Rice was spectacular and absolutely deliciously. gyoza was average, and the california roll was actually quite good! One of the better cali rolls i've ever eaten. Salad was okay. Dressing wasn't nice, and was kinda watery. Tasted almost like Italian, this is not Italian food! Overall recommend.”

“It’s a taqueria with a compact menu. The interior is clean and simple, basic. But I sure dig their barbacoa… both the chili verde and chile colarado. It has a good depth of flavors. I’ve also had the carnitas here, not too shabby either.The food is in temperature controlled trays behind a glass counter. The staff will create your order with your preferred proteins and fixings right before your eyes. They press warm the tortillas for the tacos and burritos.They have complimentary chips and salsa which is self serve. The salsa bar serves up four different kinds, no pico de gallo though. But they do have salsa verde. It’s darn tasty.”

“I went here for my niece's 4th birthday. Fun was had by all. Attentive staff with positive attitudes. Spills were cleaned up promptly (4 year olds), and the small game area was perfect for the kids. The birthday girl didn't want to leave.”
