“This sushi place is very near to my office. I have gotten lunch and dinner there off and on for many years now. The fish is good quality, and everyone there is so very nice. I almost always get takeout, but their restaurant is very pleasant for indoor seating, and the service is warm and friendly.Dietary restrictions: I am celiac, and they are always very accommodating with gluten-free soy sauce. They are also happy to adapt rolls for you if you ask. I usually enjoy sashimi the most so it’s not a huge issue for me.“

“Came here on a Sunday to waste time while we were waiting to sell our car. We originally were going to go eat vietnamese pho but saw that there was this sushi place in the same shopping plaza. We went to the restaurant thinking it was open since the door was fully open but the staff told us they were closed until 3pm but they could still seat us anyways and we could wait about 10 more minutes for them to be ready. They gave us menus and we took our time to see what they had. When all the staff came back in we were waited on by a nice waitress who took our order and came back with our drinks. We ordered the Damo specialty roll, char-siu ramen, beef udon, and a 3 item bento box. The ramen looked great and tasted good too but was on the small side with not too much noodles, the beef Udon was the same but it tasted good. The Damo specialty roll was in the skinny side like it was a bit anorexic but again, it tasted good. The 3 item bento box was good but the rice bowl serving was tiny as well as the California roll that it came with. The rice was also a bit hard like it hadn't been fluffed and they scooped the hard top or edge of the rice pot. Oh, I almost forgot that the Miso soup was awesome! It had a buttery taste to it, which was nice and unique!Overall the restaurant had great ambiance, very friendly staff, food was good and worth visiting again but the portions and proportion of the food was lacking. I left still hungry since i was the one that ordered the sushi roll... ? “

“We come almost weekly. It's consistent, fresh, and always cooked to order. The sauces that go over the meal are addictive, especially the white/cream one. The service is friendly and quick. I alternate between the steak and chicken and sometimes get the scallops or shrimp with the steak. Good sized portions for the price, that usually make two dinners. We always get takeout, but they have a TV there too and the ambiance is fine--clean with not much going on. Keep it up Sumo Grill!“

“The sushi was great! It was very fresh, and the servers were very friendly. You could feel the love and care in the food they served. The ambiance was relaxing and peaceful. The decor may be outdated, but I'm giving them 5 stars because the quality of food and service is important to me. We ordered hot tea, 2 assorted chirashi bowls, 1 flamingo roll, and 1 dragon roll. This place serves quality fresh fish. Everything was delicious. I'll be back!“

“Hands down the best sushi in the East bay (tri valley.).It was the freshest and most flavorful sushi I have had in years around home. Brought my mom and my uncle here and they were blown away by how good their rolls were. Staff was friendly and service was good. The ambience is nice and quaint. It's tucked away in the back of other businesses so it could be easy to miss if you don't see the floor sign, but it's cute. This is an absolute MUST TRY if you're close by.“

“I know my carnivore friends don't hate me but when you have a partner as awesome as I do and she says she wants to try this sushi place that also serves vegan sushi what do you do, you take her there. Mind you they also have fish based dishes. But I went with it and it was very good. The green dragon roll consisting of tempora sweet potato, avocado and egg plant was great. The sunshine roll with mango, tempura jalapeño, sun dried tomato and avocado was also great. The vegan baked spicey scallop with baked king mushrooms and avocado was also great. Winner of the night.....Green Dragon. The rest come 2nds. Ambiance is nice and the staff is on top of it. All around very nice and will be coming back.“

“It’s a contemporary Japanese restaurant with an extensive menu. Decor is bright and cheery. Bonus points for big screens showing a winning Warriors game on the night we dined there! ? Personally I had the cheesy katsu on a sizzling hot plate which was quite a sight and tastes pretty good. My party had sushi and ramen which are ok but the broth is not complex flavor-wise. The draft beer in frosted mugs is refreshing and goes very well with the katsu. Service is friendly and lots of drink options from sake to soju to ramunes. Definitely something for everyone.Vegetarian options: There are options even for plant-based diets.Parking: Saw a couple of pay-per-use EV charging spots in the parking lot too. Probably J1772s.Kid-friendliness: Good menu options for kids and they provide little chopstick training widgets for a fun experience“

“Teriyaki Plus has never let me down!! The food is fresh, tasty and you can tell it's quality. If you want bang for your buck come here!! You get so much food for the price you pay. One of the best reasons I love coming here is a customer service. They truly love what they are doing, and it reflects in their food. From the moment you walk in the door they great you and ordering is so simple. Your food is made to order in the quality is really good. See pics of the updated menu!“

“Actually delicious. We’ve had a lot of sushi in the east bay and this was easily the best takeout - fish was fresh, cuts were generous, and seasoning was interesting and delicious. A little expensive for normal sushi takeout in my opinion but a nice monthly treat! We’ll be back to dine in!Dietary restrictions: Gluten, dairy, egg free“

“This is probably my favorite restaurant. I go here almost every week for past 7-8 years. They give you complementary cucumber salad at the beginning and pineapple juice at the end of your dinner . Everyone is super friendly and helpful . Parking is always available . Restaurant is located at the very small plaza right next to 7/11. They also do very good job with to go orders . Try it , you won't regret !“

“I had the tempura and it was amazing. It was well-prepared and incredibly light with a crispy texture. I'd have to say that the freshness of the ingredients played a crucial role in the overall flavor and enjoyment of the dish. The natural flavors of the ingredients along with the light tempura covering just had the right balance of texture and flavor. I will be a regular and am looking forward to trying new dishes.“

“I don't usually enjoy Asian fusion spots but I've been to this spot multiple times while randomly in the area & they have yet to disappoint. I've tried both foods from their Thai and Japanese menus & enjoyed both. I hella love Thai food but my man doesn't want it as often as I do so coming here actually is a win for both of us. He enjoys the poke bowl because the fish is fresh, although we wish there were more toppings/sauce options and that they mixed it with the fish like other poke spots. I tried their tofu special the other day & had to order some to go cus it was that good. Crispy outside, soft inside & full of that salt & pepper flavor. The lunch bentos were perfect for takeout when my mom & I had to rush out before an appointment & they were packaged well. My husband & I also enjoyed the happy hour menu. The crab puffs were hittin the spot, I wasn't hella in love with the lemongrass beef and I wish the karaage came with an aioli instead of teriyaki sauce. I'll be back! Can't wait to try more food on the menu!“

“Pretty good sushi spot in Moraga! My friend and I were craving sushi and decided to come here, was not disappointed! Service was great, everyone was so attentive and kind the entire dinner. Also the vibe of the place is nice and simple, good place to eat dinner. We got crab cheese puffs, miso soup, and a roll each for dinner. Crab cheese puffs: 5/5 - very tasty! A go-to appetizer because they're simple and tasty. These were great, fried well and had a delicious flavor. Totally get these if you don't know what appetizer to start with! Miso soup: 4/5 - this soup was good but a little bit too salty. I like that they had real shaved bonito in the soup, added a lot of flavor but it may have made it slightly too salty. Wish there was a little more tofu but overall really good too! Spicy Tuna Roll: 4/5 - really good! Quality was great and the tuna was very flavorful. Rice was not dry and the roll was balanced. I do wish it was a little bit bigger but it's ok since we ordered other food too! Tempura Roll: 5/5 - this is the roll my friend god, she really liked it! Shrimp was tasty and fried well and she said it was very satisfying and that she would order it again. Overall our experience at golden palace was great! We definitely want to return when I visit her again. The menu had a lot of Chinese dishes so that will be what we tackle next! If you're looking for some tasty food in Moraga please check this place out :)“

“We came for a special dinner. The food was delicious, as always! We had the Angel Mama, Lion King and Godzilla rolls, and the shrimp wrapped in bacon appetizers were wonderful too. I really liked the creamy wasabi sauce that came with it. The music was a bit loud for conversation. Our waiter was very cheerful but seemed very busy, some things were forgotten (we never got out pot of tea). We'll come again but maybe not on a Saturday night.“

“Here you can find polite service and savory food. The waiting time from order to bring food is 20 minutes on Tuesday at 6 pm.I ordered 3 sets of sushi:1. PHILLY - $17 - I like soft cream cheese, salmon was fresh, and all ingredients were combined perfectly.2. BABY YODA ROLL - $19.5 - my favorite set, so delicious, tempura shrimp was cooked ideally.3. KEWPIE IMANO ROLL - $19.5 - it was OK, it was a little bit spicy, but it wasn't problem at all.Ii was my second time here and every time it was stable quality of food and service. Thanks!“

“We've been going to Toyo Sushi for over 16 years, many times weekly. This is our goto sushi restaurant for many reasons- The staff is friendly. The fish is fresh. The menu has plenty of options for non-raw-fish eaters. It can get very busy especially on Friday nights so if you order to-go, as a regular, I suggest that you budget 20 more minutes on top of the time they say it will be ready. But its so worth it. The food is great! For the dine-in crowd, they have indoor and outdoor seating and do their best to accommodate larger parties.“

“Late night meal after playing bingo, and we were able to get seated at 10pm. Wide open, clean interior with plenty of booths and tables. Had no problem getting seated. Massive menu, plus there was a happy hour that cut appetizers and roll prices by a few bucks. The value was pretty good compared to other sushi restaurants in the Bay Area The tastes of the rolls and food varied. For the cooked items, they were all fairly reliable. The udon was loaded, to katsuo well fried, and tempura not bad (although odd choice of the veggies included in the mix tempura, including bell pepper). The cooked rolls were a bit heavy handed of sauces (and cheese, perhaps, on the Bob roll), and weren't too my taste, but the dragon and CA roll were good. Anything involving raw started to get inconsistent. The John roll was fantastic, but the tuna tataki had a odd sear that made the taste off-putting. Overall, the food is about average, but with the great value during happy hour and the positive staff service, I can justify coming back here again, especially for late night eats.“

“I absolutely love it here. This is my family's go-to sushi spot in Concord, and when my dad's birthday came around, of course, we ended up here. Often uncrowded, the employees are so attentive and happy to welcome you in. They have a great sake selection and their fish is always fresh and well prepared. Not only that, but the hot-menu items from appetizers to main are delicious. My brother always gets karaage while my dad enjoys gyu-kaku and chicken teriyaki. Plus, they always have wonderful deals and specials. The inside is warm with tasteful decore without going overboard. Hanabi is a wonderful fan favorite in my family.“

“I always have a great time when I come. The quality of the food is great with good portion sizes, especially for the price. The menu is huge so everyone can find something to get.My favorites are the hamachi kama, green beans, house salad (they put a lot of dressing, you can always ask for less), fried rice, and honestly any of the rolls (I've had several of them and I liked all of them)!Staff is always super friendly, attentive, and treat you like family.“

“04/20/24- Tried Mama Sushi based on Yelp reviews. Place is small but service is friendly. Ordering can be challenging as the menu print is too small. I find myself taking a photo and then zooming it to see the picture and read the menu! I saw the other customer did the same thing, look in the menu, took a snap and zoom it. The ordering system is like in Japan as there is a clean paper with names of the items and you circle it and how many you wanted. I got a chance to meet Mama and Papa Sushi! There's no other server but just the two of them, cooking and serving. Very few tables. Tasty and fresh sushi. Ordered beef ramen, spider roll, jalapeno da bomb and Mama Roll! They also provide cute complimentary bottle of water for each customer. This is a good idea that they don't need to use glass and pour water. More sanitary in sealed bottled water! It is located in a small, slow area but once people knows about it, they'll go there no matter where it is hidden! My suggestion is to revise the menu into a bigger, more readable menu, even if pages needs to be added. Other than that, no other complaints!“
“I don't know how I never heard about this restaraunt before, it's right in downtown Danville and the food is amazing. I came in on a week day and it wasn't very busy. I ordered Hoons Lion King, miso soup, and this baked lobster dish they had, it was amazing. The people there were super nice (especially the chef) and the food was excellent. The music was maybe a little bit loud, but other than that I have no complaints. I'll definitely be back.“

“Although it stated as Japanese restaurant it's actually is a Thai restaurant serving many different kind of Thai food. One particular entree that I would not order again was a Lamb rack dish cooked with curry. The lamb meats had no taste with little meat. It was disappointing. But my other orders were quite good. I liked their salmon eggroll dipped with Thai sweet sauce.“

“I was on my way back to San Francisco from Brentwood cherry picking with my family. We found this ramen restaurant from Yelp. We give it a try since it's located in Walnut Creek and half way home. Tonkutsu ramen is good but not the best. The restaurant is quite small when limited seats. Fried squid is delicious! It took a while to get our food but it's okay because we wasn't super hungry. The waitress is friendly. I highly recommend!“

“The sushi was amazing! Loved the quality of food. Here is my ONLY complaint: they had offered miso soup when I had sat down and I thought it was free. They ended up charging me 3$ for the soup when the bill came. This somewhat bothered me because I wasn't warned or else I wouldn't have gotten it. Otherwise, the food and the service is great. “There are so many good things to say about this place. The owner and staff are like family and always treat us with kindness. “Came here for the first time with my husband and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish! It was very fresh and sashimi portions were large and nigiri well made. The restaurant is really small and seems family owned and the chef and staff are all very nice and welcoming. Food was definitely authentic Japanese and the sushi/sashimi is worth the quality you are getting. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu. Don't pass on this small hidden gem and grab some fresh sashimi/nigiri“

“Found this restaurant looking for sushi while traveling again for work, this time I find myself in Martinez. Haven't had sushi/sake in a while so here I am. The food was great, portions as you'd expect for rolls. Took the recommendation for the sake, and was a good choice. Also witnessed a phoned in order that called back and explained they'd called the wrong restaurant and canceled their order for food already prepared. So, I made a deal on the salmon roll that was part of the restaurant dealing with not-so-smart-people. The total bill was reasonable, considering the small bottle of sake. I would definitely return to this establishment again. Why a less than 5 star atmosphere, it feels more like a fast food joint but, the foods great.“
