“Daphne was our server and was pleasant and professional. The food was delicious and prepared to our specifications. Salads were crisp and fresh and the salmon cooked well-done as order, just a tad too salty. The restaurant itself was a bit chilly, which is unusual.“

“This place is awesome !!! We had our Amherst high school class of 1988 reunion here last weekend. Caleb and his staff, Ava and Katie were absolutely amazing to work with. It didn't matter what the request was they made it happen. Of course the beer was outstandingly delicious and we loved our custom menus for our event. We also had the Hangar brought in and that never disapoints.(yummy)Everyone loved it and we had a great time.Thank you, ABC Tap Room!!!We appreciate you!!Love ARHS 1988“

“I thought the food and service were excellent. My meal included a Cesar salad and then pan seared scallops. We shared carrot cake and hazelnut ice cream for dessert. My companions were less enthusiastic about the couscous accompanying the salmon (lacked flavor) and gnocchi.Vegetarian options: Limited options“

“The cocktails here are seriously on-point! Innovative and inspired, I had the Speziato and the Unicorn Blood, and both were very well balanced and bursting with flavor. The Blackened Scallops were quite good, though I think the cheesy bacon risotto was the star of that dish. Definitely would recommend this bistro on a quiet Monday night.“

“It was too dark inside to take photos. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you though I don't know how they find you without a number. In fact we had some items missing and had to ask for them. They have some canned drinks and help yourself water- nothing fancy at all. The staff were really friendly. It's very loud inside and can be difficult to find a seat on a Saturday night. They were running out of menu items quickly but luckily there were some vegan options still available. I tried the Hainan cauliflower & rice which I do NOT recommend. It was like a ramen but not nearly as good. The flavors almost canceled each other out somehow and it was so salty that's basically all I could taste. I also tried the bbq tempeh grinder which was very flavorful. It reminded me of the hot dogs in spaghetti oh's back in the day. It could use more vegetables on the sandwich in my opinion. I'd recommend trying this grinder out even if you aren't vegan. Speaking of vegan, there are no vegan desserts unfortunately but it was really nice to see so many vegan dinner options. I ended up with a stomach afterwards but I'd eat that tempeh grinder again (in hopes that wasn't the cause) and possibly try some of their other vegan meals. I do hope they succeed.“

“Had a great experience here. Pizza was delicious (sausage ala vodka); their take on ramen is unique, it's not quite ramen but it is good for what it is, almost a sort of a goulash; the egg rolls were delicious and we were happy with the beer and the ginger-honey lemonade. Would definitely return! Great service and relaxed atmosphere, too.“

Progression Brewing Company Brewery • $$
9 Pearl St, Northampton

“Sitting in Progression right now, listening to some tasty light jazz (no cover, btw:). As always, the taproom manager, Chris, is omnipresent, making sure everyone is happy as possible. The staff is always so friendly and it creates such a great atmosphere (shout-out to Brittney).I am a beer snob, and let me tell you, all the styles are at the high end. Mostly wonderfully hoppy IPA's, but also a lovely Kolsch, and terrific stout are available today. There are even 3 different hard seltzers for the non beer lovers out there.Food is pub style, of course. The menu is a bit limited, but top notch.Highly recommended for a fun night out that doesn't break the bank“

“The building itself is understated from the outside, inside there is a beautiful atmosphere and soft lighting. The drinks consisted of speciality cocktails, wine and beer options. We were disappointed that we couldn’t order a strawberry martini when we couldn’t find something that we really wanted in their listing. However, we went with the Blue Heron with the flaming orange. We definitely expected something different. The drink was delicious but the “flaming” orange consisted of the poor waitress burning her fingers as she flicked the orange peel with a lighter. No flames. Just someone handling your garnish and warming up the peel for a second. It was a bit awkward so we skipped the flaming orange for the second round Food was delicious. Our table had some bread and soup to start. Main course was the steak, Oysters and for the picky eater (me), I found the Gnocci to be yummy. Other than a very limited menu and a weird parlor trick, It was a good experience. If they add some pasta dishes to their menu, I’d go back.“
