“I've long wondered where to find authentic Chinese food in the Twin Cities northern suburbs. We have a lot of Chinese buffet and takeout, but I don't think those places really claim to be authentic Chinese.House of Kirin's food is very close to the Chinatown food I've had in various places around the world. When we went, we bought from the dimsum menu and from the Asian Menu. (I didn't know there was a separate American Menu, too.)First, the dimsum. It's spendy but it is pretty good. The shrimp dumpling had a sweet and fresh taste, The Soup Dumpling was good, though I preferred it without the accompanying soy/ vinegar :). I loved the Cheung Fun rolls the best. The texture of the rice noodle roll was soft and silky, and the bbq pork (Charsiu) in it was so flavorful. Yum yum yum! My Mom was disappointed at how small the duck was for the price-- it was probably one duck breast.Off the menu, I LOVED the Yangzhou Fried Rice! I haven't had fried rice like this since I ate at the Los Angeles Chinatown. It was perfectly seasoned and had a great chicken to veggie to rice ratio. The steamed bokchoy was also phenomenal. For such a simple dish, it packed a good, clean flavor. The beef hotpot was okay.It can get quite pricey at the end of the day. However, because it was Family-style, you do get quite a bit of food. We definitely brought home a lot.“

“Order sweet sour chicken and it was real good, except I could have liked to have some pineapple and green pepper. Would like to try some other dishes“

“Came to order L12 the General tso’s chicken and it came out very nice! Asked for extra spicy and he did just that. It’s sauced nicely and still has a crispy batter with a moist inside. Steaming hot and he made it very quickly. Also the presentation looks like it could be on an ad.Only thing that could be better is some sort of background music for a bit better atmosphere“

“Overall, it was a really good place to eat. It was very quiet and you could hear the other person talk. Which I find important. If you love orange chicken, this is a good place to have some. But if you can handle spice!?? Chicken has a little kick to it. But overall, it's very good. Shrimp Lo Mein is one of the best I've tried and lots of yummy vegetables. Also, it's very big portions for very low cost. Would definitely recommend it! ??“

“I had wanted to try this place for awhile and I'm so glad I did! The prices are reasonable and the portions just right! I went with my friend who suggested I try the Bahn Mi sandwich, so I got the beef and a hot green tea. The ambience is wonderful, groovy and chill, lush green plants everywhere, beautiful paintings and the TV was showing an interesting cooking show. The sandwich contained so many different fillings: green bell pepper, Daikon radish, a mild sweet pickle, matchstick carrots, cucumber and fresh basil leaves alongside the most delicious marinated roast beef. The bun was soft with just enough crispness. The wait staff were warm and friendly. It was like being transported to another warm and lush land on a gloomy, chilly Saturday. Thank You!!!“
