This is my second visit to LaRumba. From the moment you walk in, to the completion of your meal, your smile and taste buds will explode. The first thing you notice is the spotless interior. You will be seated promptly, followed by a waitress who will take your beverage choice and provide a menu. After ordering your food, you can enjoy a conversation with your friend. Your order arrives promptly and you begin to experience a delicious Latino meal.

Service was fast on a busy Saturday night, which we really appreciated. This is a large place that can accommodate a lot of people. The food was good, but not overly exciting. But all in all, not a bad choice for a hungry family.

My wife took me here for my birthday. I had Mike's chef sampler, and she had the creamy mushroom chicken. Both were amazing!!! We came early in the day, so it was not packed, and the staff was super polite, and quick. Latin music in the background was pleasant and added to the ambiance. Super clean, and very attentive! Lots of smiles! We loved the experience!!

I ate here last August and loved it but was a little worried at the lack of other customers. I was staying in Fletcher by the airport this week and drove a good distance to eat here again and was happy to see that the place has definitely caught on. The food is really good here and much different than what we normally get in the southeast. The first time I had the short ribs and they were great, this time I got the Baja tacos with grilled grouper and loved them. I got the side salad and it was really good and the plantains. Thank you all for offering non-alcoholic beer as well. That's tough to come by these days in restaurants.

By far the BEST Mexican food I have EVER had!

Of Asheville's diverse culinary scene, I haven't found a ton in the Latin American vein. This appears to have been my oversight, as this place was what you'd hope for: not only the large space, friendly bilingual service, and distinctive flavors, but also a full vegetarian and vegan menu. I mean, it's Asheville; I don't know how any restaurant makes it around here without catering to the meat-free crowd, which is pretty substantial around these parts. They have entree plates that generally come with two sides, so come hungry. I was glad I didn't order any more. But what I did get was an excellent flavor mix, including the free corn they bring you to start, as well as some mole-covered empanadas with sides of fried yucca and black means. Mole is not usually in vegetarian dishes, and it's a strange flavor, but it adds intrigue. I added a hibiscus water, which gave me some sweetness while passing on what I expect were excellent desserts. It is a large place and was not totally full, though there were plenty of people there. I would be happy to try any of a number of other options on what was a robust menu.

We went here for a late dinner. The food was good not great, but we liked everything we had. The service was spot on and our waitress was very attentive. Would highly recommend this place for a late night dinner.

After coming to Asheville twice a year for 5 years, I really regret not knowing about this restaurant before. Today we decided to stop by and we had an amazing dinner experience. Flavorful, fresh and served with an honest and friendly smile. Deserve the high reviews and a bit more.

Pros: very good food, delicious tres leches cake, owner was super friendly and remedied our issue quickly and happily. Our server was very nice. Chef Mike's sampler was good and mango habanero sauce on the chicken was phenomenal. Great sides.Cons: Hostess had a bad attitude and kinda threw our silverware down. They had a bad shipment of chicken that day that came out tough, but the flavor of the mango habanero sauce was phenomenal. The owner mentioned several folks had issues with the chicken cutlets that day and quickly brought me a new plate of food, the chicken tinga was excellent. Appreciated his quick fixing of the situation.
