I love this place. It's was our first time visiting. We wanted breakfast but, they don't serve bread after 11 a.m. I got the ham & cheese wrap it was really good. My husband got the grilled chicken wrap. Our son got the crispy chicken sandwich. We really enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be back for breakfast & to try their desserts!

Black Bear Tavern is my go-to place for top-notch breakfast food in a quanit environment. My coffee is constantly refilled and Lisa makes sure to make us feel at home during every visit. With this being a small establishment, she is sometimes running the show all by herself. But, she is dedicated to making sure everyone is her center of attention and makes time to have a laugh with everyone.

Very Rude!!! We showed up for lunch during normal business hours, there was an open side outside, and a close sign on the door so I walked into ask if they were still open. And lady behind the bar was very rude. Made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by just asking. Was excited to try out, now, never giving them my business.

Google did me right! A weekend retreat in the mountains led me to the mountains. They made sure to let us know that dinner Friday evening was on us, so a quick Google search steered me here. I was running late and was going to order a quick carryout, but the warm atmosphere and friendly vibe somehow had me pull up a chair. Soooooo happy I did. Ordered the shrimp appetizer and Twisted Chicken entree. Both were very tasty. But as I waited for my order to be prepared, I caught the dessert display out of the corner of my eye. Cinnamon rolls AND cupcakes...all of them were calling my name but I overheard the cupcake I really wanted being sold so I said to myself, "Well, that sounds like that means no dessert for you." Then the owner told me about the cheesecake... here's my advice to you. GET.THE.CHEESECAKE! They also told me about their breakfast. I had every intention of making it back for it but couldn't get there before the 11:00 cut off time. But I will be back the very next time I'm in the area! I can't wait to get my blueberry pancakes and biscuits and sausage gravy!!

This place is a dining experience. We stopped after spending the day at Biltmore. The owner is also an entertainer. We enjoyed not only our food (that I forgot to take a picture of) but the banter with the owner. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Wonderful experience with our friends on a Saturday morning! We could not have enjoyed a more perfect morning. The food was delicious especially the eggs which were cooked perfectly. Lisa was so kind and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food and a good space to hang!

My breakfast was truly amazing. The cheesy potatoes and big bear breakfast was delicious. There were only two ladies working aside from the kitchen staff and to no fault of their own, the service was majorly slacking due to it.

I’ve eaten there several times and I really like the omelettes and sandwiches are good. The salads are good. The problem is that every time I go it seems like they are trying to get rid of you. They’ll be other people in there eating but they will be bringing you your check and your to go box and looking back-and-forth at you to be sure you’re leaving. I hadn’t been there but about an hour and hadn’t finished my food but they sat at the table next to me and one waiter just kept looking back like are you leaving and I said it says online that closes at two and she said well that’s wrong it’s 130 and I guess it was about 130 then . I just don’t go to any other restaurant and get treated that way and it’s kind of sad because I like the food. Also, they turned up the news so that I was having trouble hearing on the far side of the restaurant and I ask the waiter to turn it down but she said, can you hear it over there because I can’t hear it here. Just kinda not a nice ambience. Although one of the waiters is always nice.
