“Probably the best kept secret in Lake Lure. No idea why I had never heard of this place before. The best trout I’ve ever had. And people aren’t joking about the wedge salad. Just get it. Cocktails were mixed to perfection and desert wasn’t over the top…the perfect topper to a well balanced meal. Service was great too with Sydney (sp?).I would suggest more sweet to balance the savory of the charcuterie board. But otherwise the experience was perfection. Definitely making this a regular stop from now on.”

“Wish I could give them a million stars. When Lake House Restaurant messed up my wedding rehearsal dinner . We came here and they took my party of 30 ppl. They were great to accommodate us all. The food and service was great!!! They went beyond and above to make our night special. And now when we take trips to Chimney Rock we will make sure to give them our business. “This is a second restaurant at Rumbling Bald across the street from Legends on the golf course. We were here the first night of our stay and it was pretty slow. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We tried a few bites to eat and were not disappointed. They accomodated everything we asked for. We intended to go back, but also had several other places around that we wanted to try and the two times we went back on property we landed at Legends. If there is a wedding and Legends is crazy and you're looking for a quieter refuge, try The Gardens. A caviat here is we never did figure out what exactly the "season" is around here... Gardens is listed as a seasonal restaurant, but we couldn't figure out if this is a hunter's paradise, a summer retreat, a snowbird's escape, or a heat wave escape (the latter being our reason for being here... 110° gets old fast!)”

“We stopped in for a night cap.Late night amd there was a wedding going on so there were not many people in the bar. Our bartender was great and made a delicious long island. We chatted with him and the other bartender about bourbon and moonshine and weddings and the shark sightin at Lake Lure earlier that must have occurred why else would they shut the beach at 6??? “This is a regular stop for me. Not having a free standing Starbucks in town, this Starbucks is located in the Lake Lure Ingles supermarket. The coffee experience is always better than the super market experience. I have never understood how when you put an Ingles associate in the Starbucks area they become precessional, friendly and eager to help.Ingles needs all their employees to go through the Starbucks training. My dream is that some day I'll get my sandwich or cold cuts quick, efficiently and with a smile..wow”

“We are here now for the new-year weekend and it's great,, room service lady pat had our room spotless,, the staff have been great,, the grounds guy went above his duties helping the guest this morning,, very nice guy with a great voice,, the owner is cool as hell,, the rooms have been remolded,, we are lower level and the noise is minimal and we have a beautiful view of the river,, we will be back, there is nothing negative here..”

“I live here. They cannot get help. No one wants to work. You can’t get good service if you can’t get help. It’s a nationwide problem since Covid. If they had help you would love Legends. Spray the patio if there are roaches. It literally rained all summer this year. That brings roaches. They won’t hurt you.”

The ice cream was smooth and the tasty, n ano will perfectly ripe but not overripe and they were plenty of goodies, nuts, pineapple and strawberries and top with the whipped cream and a cherry. All on the list of the things that we're not supposed to eat and it was most excellent.”

You walk in and you are immediately greeted with a wonderful "Howdy" and treated like you are the next "Super Star" to walk inside this miniature Super Store! With more home-work & equipment supplies that you can imagine, there are lots and lots of every day supplies not to mention, wall coolers that are stock filled with more varieties of drinks and so much food and snacks to select trom too.I think the biggest thrill was to try "Champs Chicken." An integrated full service kitchen and seating restaurant inside Marathon Station! Make sure you go before 3:00 PM as closing time for Champs is right then! Their homemade bone-in fried chicken tastes marinated and has a delicious fried crust; very flavorful and worth the try I think. I know that I will be back again to this Champs Chicken and Marathon Station at91 NC-Rt 9, Mill Spring, North Carolina 28756. What a great experience.”
