“Christy and Tony are amazing hosts! We spent the day exploring Little Switzerland and The Emerald Mine, and ended our adventure with a visit to the brewery for some beer. I really enjoyed the cozy Kitch-style atmosphere, and loved seeing the horses, chickens, and beautiful mountain views. Christy even offered us some organic eggs from her own farm, along with free potato chips and other unexpected treats. This place is perfect for a big group or camping trip, with plenty of space to park your RV and lots of room to explore. I highly recommend it!“

“We love this place. The food is excellent and fairly priced. We enjoy the quiche and soups. They smoke their own meats. The sandwiches are tasty. Save room for the big selection of cakes and pies. Service is warm and friendly. There can be a wait during tourist season, but it’s nice hanging out front while you wait. The small store connected to it has a nice selection of snacks, beer and wine, souvenirs and local crafts. Highly recommend.“

BanksCreekBarn Pet Friendly •
Rockhouse lane, Linville Falls - 7.25 miles

“Found this place "by accident" when we were driving to Linville Caverns. They had set up a smoker up just off the road and the smell lured us in.You drive along a gravel drive back off the road for a short bit and the scene opens up to a beautiful setting of the "barn" and decks and ponds. It's absolutely gorgeous! There was a group of 12 of us and we all grabbed beers and walked around and explored the space. Very relaxing. Then we made our way back to order lunch and, between the 12 of us, we ordered about half the menu.If you order trout, you can either go catch it yourself (HOW FUN!!) or have them catch one for you. The trout is cooked simply (which is the best way to treat super fresh quality ingredients) and it may have been the best trout i've ever had. We had three of them for our group and everybody raved about it. Definitely the STAR of the menu. The hushpuppies and fries that came with it? Eh. They both needed to be cooked more. Fries were not very hot and no crisp to them at all (flavor was good). The hushpuppies had no crisp to them at all and were a bit soggy on bottom where they had soaked up moisture from the fries or the fish. The BBQ pork was top notch. Several of us got it as part of the meat lovers basket and we all agreed it was great but I think i'd get it as a sandwich next time and skip the meat lovers basket because, while the flavors were spot on, the rest of the meats (wings, ribs, brisket) were on the tough/chewy side. Good... but not great. Also of note was the pimento cheese app. Pretty darned good. The staff was a mix of owners and family and they were all SUPER! Great folks. Fun to talk to.We will be going back when we are in the area.“
