Metro North 378 Alexander St, Princeton Italian • $$

“We went to dine with this rag tag restaurant and the experience was awful. The waitress had no teeth and asked my son for his? At first we thought “hey maybe they are joking” then all of a sudden. They lady grabbed his front bicuspid. Needless to say - at that point we were concerned. Because we had a long day we were still hungry. So we stuck around. The next thing you know. The toothless individual brought another toothless friend and tried to get my tooth as well. At that point. We know. Time to get out of here. We were cooked. Unlike the food at this gross place.”

Their prices are reasonable and although they often have lines out of the door, they move quickly.Wheelchair accessibility: ♿ There is no wheelchair accessibility nor bathroom access due to the size and nature of the shop, but there is a nice place to sit and wait directly across the shop (in a small park) while your friends/family get the ice cream for you!”

Had brussels sprout kimchi which was decent but the Mexican Pork small plate and the beef tartar small plate were incredible - lots of complex flavors which matched up nicely together. “Having been a happy customer for over 20 yrs, I was shocked when I stopped by at Xmas time to get a tray for a party, only to find them closed for remodeling? Bad timing!! I came back today, Jan 31, to find them open again with a beautiful new eating area, lounging areas, and a fresh-smelling mens room?!! And...the same fresh and delicious sushi--at the same prices with just a little more added into each order. I will be coming back more often now, and maybe to pick up for home sharing, too. Four star food at 3 star prices. Free indoor parking, right off US1 in Forrestal Village. What more can you want!! Too good not to eat it all.”

Not every AYCE sushi place can get that right. The presentation of the food was also fantastic. Finally, I did not feel rushed at all. We sat for a little over two hours and this would be a no-go at some other locations but not this one. Granted, it was lunch but there was a fair number of customers (no wait times). Overall great experience, and love that it’s right by Princeton and off Route 1.”

They also have a wide variety of snacks available: all the best pastries imaginable to go with your coffee and even an acai bowl bar and amazing oatmeal bowls for those who haven't had a chance to have their breakfast yet =) My personal favorite is their spicy maya mocha. Rojo's Roastery 33 Palmer Square W, Princeton Coffee Shops • $

“By far the best latte I've ever had, period. Been a longtime customer of this location. I'm a latte junkie and always visit highly regarded coffee shops when I'm traveling (whether for business or leisure). I've gone to many famous shops in NYC and Brooklyn and Rojo's is right up there with them, if not, better than most. The flavor of their latte is so unique and leaves you with a lasting impression that makes you go back over and over again. I now live 50 min. away from Princeton, but still go back at least once a month just to grab their latte again. The baristas do an incredible job of extracting espresso that really brings out the flavor of the beans. Everyone I've brought to Rojo's were impressed and became fans of the spot. The only downside is that it's a small store with limited seating (it sits maybe 6 people).”

By California or Los Angeles standards, this juice bar is just fine, but they could not charge nearly this much because there are much nice juice bar chains that use organic fresh produce every few blocks or so. Chez Alice 5 Palmer Square W, Princeton Cafe • $

“We had tea time reservations at Chez Alice and could not have been happier. Our table was reserved at the window and not only did we receive excellent service, the staff customized the bites to our needs, and allowed us to relax and stay for hours. They did not rush us out and even refrigerated our leftovers until we were ready to leave. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend Chez Alice over other tea time options in the area. Please visit - even just for an unplanned stop in to-go. So many wonderful options. You will not be disappointed!”

“Love at first bite. Absolutely the best sandwich I have had in a long time.We were out on a food crawl and decided to stop at Le Kiosk after I read the reviews. Unfortunately, it was a cold breezy morning and I had no idea it was outdoor seating. Would be an idea place to eat with warmer weather. We decided to share a Genoa Focaccia Sandwich and an Arc De Triomphe crepe. We had them toast the bread and then assemble the sandwich. Simply awesome!!! Must have, you can thank me later.”

The Coffee Club 5 Prospect Ave, Princeton Cafe • $

“Best-value and best tasting coffee offered around campus/town - an important accolade when even the campus-run outlets are draining bank accounts for very basic offerings. Important for new or unfamiliar campus staff to know that all are welcome, even though it is in the basement of the "Campus Club" building.”

“I'm writing this review as I'm still sitting here at the cafe, because it's just so nice. I've been to their first location on Nassau street a few times but have avoided going as of late because it's always just so busy, crowded and truthfully, a little impersonal feeling. I just found out they opened a second location last night, so needless to say, I came right away. The location is a little hard to find from the outside, but I went through homestead to try and figure it out and found there was a door between the two stores. They do also have their own entrance. I picked up a bag of beans, a croissant and an americano, and the americano was on the house, I'm assuming with the purchase of the beans. My drink was so smooth that I had to ask what beans they use and it's their house espresso blend. I ended up getting their single origin Burundi, a light roast leaning towards medium, I was told, because I only do drip and pour over at home. The space is minimalist, open, and has lots of small seating. Patrons were very respectful and kept conversations low, so it was a really nice spot just to chill out.”

“Exquisitely creative food - really enjoyed our experience there. Lovely ambiance as well. I had the Professor Plum cocktail and it was delicious and well balanced. Had brussels sprout kimchi which was decent but the Mexican Pork small plate and the beef tartar small plate were incredible - lots of complex flavors which matched up nicely together. I had the fish etouffee which was very good and my husband, a scallop connoisseur, got the scallops and was very impressed. wonderful evening out for us!”

Chuck E. Cheese 520 Nassau Park Blvd, Princeton Pizza • $$

“Great place, and my son loved it. However, when I went, they were extremely short staffed. Had to wait 5 min for someone to let us in/out , as well as only 1 person behind the prize counter, so wait was 10+ min. Also, the birthday watches that were timed play kept malfunctioning and would take 3 to 4 times scanning against the game to work. Other than that, it was a good time... I normally don't complain about wait times , however, when you're with an excited 3 year old, 5 to 10 minutes becomes an eternity as they don't want to stand still or wait and literally are climbing out of your arms so excited to play or pick a prize. However, I completely understand that being short staffed happens. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident, and it will be better staffed on our next visit!Kid-friendliness: This is a kid friendly environment. I also love that kids can not leave without their parents as hands are stamped upon entry. As my 3 year old was so excited, he kept running off. Gives parents a little peace of mind in the crazy world we live in.”

“My girlfriend and I have brunch here every weekend. The food and ambiance are fantastic! The service is also excellent. The smashed avocado tartine is by far our favorite dish, and any espresso drink we’ve gotten to date has been amazing. It does get a bit crowded around 10am-11am on the weekends, but tables usually clear out quickly enough such that you’re seated before your food arrives.
