i've liked bar blondeau for a while - mostly because it's a beautiful sunset view of manhattan from the bar when you're drinking a cocktail. or taking in the sun on the outdoor patio. what makes it lose a star, for me, is that it's gotten more popular lately and the patrons are kind of trash and annoying. the prices are on the higher end but that's what you get in the area. the food is okay but not quite worth the price. I would just stick with the cocktails.
*** 3.5 stars *** Bar/restaurant with a nice view of the Manhattan skyline. Note that this space is indoors even though it is marketed as "rooftop" (although that is probably a positive in the summer and winter months!). We came for happy hour but they have a very limited happy hour menu (and were even "out" of the cocktail that I wanted) but I won't complain about that as there are great prices on the happy hour menu. If I could give more than 5 stars for service, I would. One of the finer views of the Manhattan skyline that you could ever see. My wife and I have come back to Bar Blondeau for our wedding anniversary and it was arguably the best demonstration of service I’ve ever seen in my life.
