“This hidden gem check all the good boxes! It takes a bit longer to get your food but it really is worth the wait. Our waitress was super nice and it was a very clean place. They have some of the best tasting fries you can get here. Very low noise level and no wait time to get seated. Prices are very reasonable. There is lots of parking in a lot right next door and some behind the building. This used to be Toms Diner. Very nice menu. If you haven't been here you really should try it”

“We came here for my sister's birthday and ordered crab Rangoon, fried pork belly, vegetable samosa, momo dumplings, red,yellow, and green curries, and also the spicy noodles. The crab Rangoon and fried porkbelly were our table's favorites and the momo dumplings were super tender. The fried chicken breast on the spicy noodles were very tender ? overall a fantastic experience at a super friendly family owned restaurant. Would highly recommend!”

“I come from a Mexican family in California, so when I moved to Pittsburgh, I was deeply disappointed at the lack of good, authentic Mexican food. When I found this place, I rejoiced! “Beyond being some of the (if not the sole) best Italian food I have ever had, what stands out most about Dish Osteria is their commitment to true hospitality; we arrived early to have drinks at the bar, and from the start we were treated with care and true personal interest. The bartender was so insightful and walked us through the menu, answering any questions we might have so that we could order our dinner with ease (it was last Wednesday at 8PM— I forget his name, but please give him his flowers. He was amazing!). I had the Little Bird bourbon cocktail and absolutely loved it. This level of care continued as we moved to our table for dinner. Our waiter and host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal, refreshing our bread without us having to ask (that homemade focaccia was dangerous— we couldn’t stop eating it!), suggesting wine pairings, and also allowing us to taste two options when we couldn’t choose. Every single dish we ordered was phenomenally crafted and delicious ; we ordered the Gamberi shrimp and grilled artichoke salad to start, followed by the short rib ragu gnocchi and rigatoni with smoked scamorza for our entrees (I will dream about both of these dishes for some time). For dessert, we had the lemon cello cheesecake, which was perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors. Our waiter also provided us with a complimentary glass of moscato with our dessert. This was a phenomenal first experience at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back. I’m also gifting a visit here to some of my friends for their anniversary and can’t wait for them to try it as well!”

“I had the oyster mushroom sandwich. I felt like they could have added more mushroom because the bun is very thick but it was still delicious. The plantains I could tell were a bit old however. The portion sizes are also a bit small. The sorrel drink I had was on point though. I definitely recommend this place I just think there's opportunity to improve.”

Black cod with a hint of heat and spice or a hong kong style sea bass or some delectable scallops.The shellfish tower was light on content for $80 but made up for with good flavor.Cocktails can be hit or miss and I found them to be fairly weak.Service was top notch and our hostess was very knowledgeable and friendly.”

“We’ve dined twice at Alla Famiglia and it’s the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. Their portions are massive and we’ve always had enough for lunch the next day. The three things we recommend are the grilled octopus appetizer, any of the veal chops, and the seafood diavola. You need to see the size of the veal chops in person as pictures online don’t do it justice. We thought the Cavatappi tasted better than the Cacio pasta, even though Cacio costs more. Overall it’s pricey for Pittsburgh, but the quality is superior and you get enough for lunch the next day. Another tip is get a bottle of their spicy olive oil on the way out. I add it to many dishes for an extra kick and it makes for a great present.”

“I moved away from Pittsburgh a couple years ago and I always regretted not trying Scratch & Co. I finally got a little reunion group together for brunch when I came back in town for a wedding, and I was blown away. The decor is charming, artful, and full of thoughtful antique restoration mixed with modern touches. The food was absolutely fantastic, I had the smash burger and also tried the bagel with schmear and shakshuka. So rare to find really good bagels in Pittsburgh and Scratch & Co. has them! I had an old fashioned donut as well which was also awesome. And the service was perfection as well. We had a great time, I can't wait to come back, I only wish I had made it more often before I left.”

The attentiveness of the staff was particularly a highlight -- different dishes and utensils for each part of the meal showed an attentiveness to the experience. The food is inventive on simple themes, which we loved (but also felt like it didn't hit on some things).Overall, it was a great experience, but I think for what it was, the price is just a little too high (and thus the 4 stars instead of 5). Specifically, some of the food pairings were a little off, and the environment is a bit cluttered. Nothing bad for a slightly less expensive restaurant, but at this price point it's a 4/5 for me.”

He made sure to check back with us to see how we liked everything in spite of being rather busy with a large group in a private room. “I was so excited to finally make it out to Eleven ❤️Eleven is a five star restaurant all the way. Loved being greeted by the fireplace as you entered. On a rainy day it was very comforting. We were seated upstairs overlooking the bar and though I don't have any photos, you need to go see it for yourself.JR, he's the one with the fabulous hair, took wonderful care of us.We ordered the salmon and scallops and beet salad. They were very tasty and filling. We did split the candy bar dessert.I was very excited that I got to try a glass of Pappy Van Winkle 20-year-old bourbon. It was fabulous. “Everything was great. Definitely get the baked potato cheese. The wine and garlic seasoning was amazing! We had the "Bigger Night Out" and there was more than enough for both of us. The lobster tail had great flavor. The server was attentive and kind. Had the chocolate-covered strawberries at our table upon arrival, they were ripe and juicy! Just overall a great date night! Will be returning. One complaint, the veggies were cut way too thick, so we couldn't cook them in under 8 or so minutes. They need to be thinner. That's the only thing I would change.”

“I've always been fond of Ciao, partially because I rarely had to pay for the food there thanks to casino comps and food vouchers, but honestly they have hands down the best desserts in Pittsburgh. The food is cheap and delicious, but the dessert is the highlight. Tried their cannoli, apple dumpling, mango cheesecake bomb, and the very reason I'm writing this review -- italian cupcake!! Before this cupcake I've never really understood women's obsession with cupcakes, it's a cake with some icing, sure it's small and cute, but I was so sure nothing about the taste of a cupcake can possibly impress me a big deal. and well, this one did! it was a very nice buttery walnut/pecan pound cake, filled with egg custard (the kind you would normally find in a fruit tart), and topped with cream cheese (not the shitty sugary icing, it actually taste like a cheesecake on top of a butter pound cake!) and the walnut/shredded coconut on top is a nice touch too. For the first time I feel the inflated price on cupcakes are totally justified, in fact this one should cost more!! God damn I gotta get this recipe. and their cannoli recipe! (side note: I was comparatively unimpressed with their tiramisu and bearclaw, not because those are bad, just because the other desserts are too good! - just for reference, in case you're picking between several options as I always am)”

“Awesome bakery with lots of unique and delicious items! They aren’t just a bakery with sweet treats, but also serve boba, dumplings, and some sort of shaved ice I believe. It’s an awesome place. I tried the egg tarts, cream puffs, and crispy pineapple buns.The egg tarts were quite tasty. Not too strong of a flavor and relatively light, for an egg tart. They are small and perfect for a quick dessert. Nothing too crazy, but simple and tasty.The pineapple bun unfortunately didn’t have any real pieces of pineapple on it. But, it was still very good. The dough itself is very soft, fluffy, and airy. It is not heavy by any means. The top is crispy and sugary, but the bun itself doesn’t have a ton of flavor. There’s something in the middle but it’s not too discernible. Still, quite tasty.Finally, the cream puff. This was huge and delicious! It was filled with tons of cream, which was surprisingly not too sweet, and more buttery, almost. The dough is also tasty, similar to that of the bun. I’d highly recommend this.All in all, this is an amazing bakery in Mt. Lebo, and one of the few Asian bakeries near the city. Great menu, solid prices, lots of variety. Get to Mt Oliver before summer 24 when they relocate to New Brighton. You won't be disappointed.”

My order arrived exactly as I ordered it and they didn't miss any of the sides. They have a huge selection of desserts and I got the sweet potato pie, it tastes like my 95 yr old grandma from Tennessee made it! Get the homemade healthy green tea drink, you won't be disappointed! “I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our dinner. Cuddy's Soul Food is located inside of Lawrence Food Hall and if you want more information about that you can check out my review for them. From Cuddy's soul food I ordered a pork soul roll and a steak and cheese soul roll. I started out with the smaller of the two which ended up being the pork roll. It was a bit on the greasy side but the flavor was good. It was very porky and I appreciated the collard greens which cut through the pork and then the sweet potatoes which added a bit of sweetness. Then the steak and cheese roll is what you would expect. Lots of steak and cheese with a hint of peppers which made it a very tasty roll. Then I would I be remiss to not mention the sauce which was sweet and spicy and absolutely delicious. I enjoyed dipping both rolls into it and imagine I would like it on just about anything. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought that both of my rolls here were good, albeit greasy, and I would be interested in trying some of their ribs in the future.”

“I SHOULD RATE IT LOWER! BUT I WON'T.Ok so I'm going to start with this as a mixed review in two ways one for Priors and the bowling alley since they were both involved. We had a Young teens birthday party there where the bowing alley offers min charge $120 for 8 people. We understood this going in. We only had 5 teens 3 adults. Everyone bowled 1 game the adults had to buy their own drinks even though we paid for (8) the adults were also not allowed to eat. We were told prices went up blame the government. (Wow) so we ordered 3 cokes adults also not permitted to eat so we ordered food. The kids each got a small rectangle of pizza and a few French fries along with their included drink. So not even 1 whole pizza for the party? Was very confused. We could have gone there based on normal pricing paid 40 bucks less everyone would have eaten drank cokes bowl more than 1 game for alot less money. So BE CAREFUL. We did have a hostess as well that will also cost you tip. Our hostess was awesome this experience was not their fault. It was mine for not doing better research. So I'm short if your having a party there skip the party through them and go Alacarte.”

“We ate here on a Saturday evening, with a reservation for two at 7.30pm. When we arrived the restaurant was quite full and we had to wait a little while before being seated. At that point, the service was very strong. We tried several dishes, including the salad, miso soup, sashimi plate, nigiri plate, and some hand rolls (mushroom, eel, scallop). We tried the tiramisu, chocolate pudding, and crème caramel for dessert. All in all, the food was tasty, the ambiance was relaxing and pleasant, and service was good. We had a very nice evening.”

“This place is AMAZING! My mom and I are in town for a college tour, and many people were walking around with the ice cream so I suggested we give it a try. Immediately the two guys in there were delightful and very helpful and cheery. The atmosphere was so fun the moment we walked in. The flavors were amazing and I almost couldn’t choose between the Thin Mint and the Pittsburgh Pride. I ended up going with the latter. It is like brownie/oreo/cookie chunks and butterscotch. There might be another thing added. My mom got the pear flavor. We are both extremely satisfied with our choices. They did say that the flavors change up pretty often - for example, they’re getting ready for Blackberry Lemonade. But Pittsburgh Pride will always be available. So if you’re looking for a cute little dessert place after dinner, this is the place!”

Eaten many areas at restaurants and homemade and these were perfect!I got this nice juicy arepa with a wonderfully crispy corn flour shell and could not have been more pleased with it. I got the pabellon with seasoned shredded chicken, plantain, black beans, and quest fresco, smeared both sauces on and got into the messy traditional Venezuelan hand "taco". With some minor effort it didn't completely fall apart, just a few bites of ingredients fell out. That means they didn't skimp on the food but also didn't overload it to bursting. Perfect! Paired it with a classic Venezuelan Malta barley soda. Yum!The decor here is exactly how it should be you guys are doing an awesome job and 4.8 stars right now is Ballin! I went around 1 and had no wait, but one day a few weeks ago I stuck my head in at 12 and it was packed.”

“We often order delivery from here and are always impressed with the quality of the food, the quantity, and the speed of delivery. Tonight it was chicken parmigiana with angel hair and a side salad with fried zucchini as an appetizer for me, while my dad did the build-your-own-pasta with gnocchi and carbanara (bacon, mushroom cream) sauce and caesar salad. They said it would be an hour and it was only 30 minutes. I don't know how the fried zucchini travels and still arrives crispy, but they do it, and it's awesome, large slices, very generous, like a whole zucchini, with crisp, though not too thick, breading. It does not include a dip, only lemon wedges, but I have ranch dressing here. The chicken parmigiana was two large breasts, breaded, moist, and smothered in sauce and cheese. The side salads are generous with a thick slice of cucumber, grape tomato, red onion, and lettuce (the caesar - not real authentic but good - with croutons, black olives, grape tomatoes, lettuce, and parm cheese). We are never disappointed and always have leftovers. The one time something was wrong with our order, they promptly came back with what was missing and gave us a credit. Try the focaccia pizzas for a week's worth of great food! Highly recommended!!!”

“Primanti Bros is what Pittsburgh is known for. It is the Philly cheesesteak of Pittsburgh. They are known for their sandwiches, which come with French fries within them. They have multiple locations throughout the city, but we chose to go to the one at strip district as it is the original first ever location. Being a weekend, there was a long queue, but the queue moved fast, and we were seated within 15 minutes. I got the original Pitts burger while my friend got the cajun chicken sandwich. Mine tasted great, but my friend’s chicken was quite dry and chewy. While the sandwich was actually quite good, I am not sure if I will be coming back any time soon. I guess I just like my fries to be on the side and not inside the sandwich.”

There is a small space with a fire pit to hang out outside as well. They did have a food truck while I was there this visit. Not sure if they will continue to have trucks-but there is definitely space for rotating food trucks. The ginger beers were great and their mule was super refreshing and delicious. “I only wish this existed when I was going to college nearby at La Roche. Apparently a Crazy Mocha once existed in Passavant, but I never made my way to it unfortunately. I have, however, been to some other hospital coffee shops, like the Starbucks in Presby in Oakland. Not only is this Starbucks new, but it looks like some of the main hall at the Passavant entrance was redone too. There are plenty of tables and chairs out front so you can gaze out the window, and the large atrium seating area is nearby. Inside there is ample seating like any location, with an area off to the right to buy branded cups and mugs. Given that it's the holiday season and the special drinks were available I decided to try the white peppermint mocha. The cafe was not too busy for a weekday in the midafternoon, so I was waited on right away. Only a few hospital employees wondered in while I was sitting, as well as a few visitors. Nothing too unique about this location design wise, it's your typical dimly lit but nicely done spot. There is some interesting hospital history and displays father down the hall to explore, as well as the chapel and gift shop.”
