“Everything was good when it came down to the food but we didn't like the fact that the person the takes the plates was table watching it seemed as if every five minutes she would walk by looking over the table and as soon as we put a plate aside she was ready to grab it and when we went for a second plate she was grabbing plates we was not done with yet it was very uncomfortable having a dish hawk hover over us as we ate but beyond that everything else was amazing I don't like feeling as if I'm being rushed off to eat then leave overall the food was super freshParking: Handicapped parking was upfront close to the door so we was happy about thatWheelchair accessibility: There was access for a wheelchair but we didn't need it“

“We popped in for an unplanned bite with friends. We didn’t have a reservation and I highly recommend one. We were glad to be gifted one hour given our resy gaffe. Our waitress was charming and attentive. As expected, our food was high quality and delicious. While one of my favorite nigiri fishes tends to be loup de mere, the kanpachi was the winner of the hour!“

“When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. It did take our server to get to us a good 10 minutes before talking and telling us what the concept and food recommendations were. The setting of the restaurant is clean, and airy due to the sun room setting on one side of the restaurant. To start us off, we did some drinks that were good but did not find any favourites. The two cold starters were: Hamachi Yuzu: 2/5 because the yuzu yoghurt was overpowering and the kombu powder left a sandy grit texture on the teeth that made it almost annoying to eat. Could barely taste the hamachi. Madai Carpaccio: 1/5 because the crunchy togarashi and black sesame soy sauce enveloped the Madai and the saucy component was too strong to complement the fish. Oyster with caviar was fresh and briny. Very tasty. 5/5. Would recommend avoiding the cold starters besides the oysters and moving straight to the nigiri and hot components of the menu. From the nigiri portion, we ordered: Hotate, salmon, gizzard shad, akami, amaebi and madai. Fresh, fatty, flavoursome cuts of delicious fish. Definitely recommend, 5/5. Also, tried the Olive A5 wagyu nigiri with black truffle and it was unctuous and absolute yum! From their hot portion, we got the baby back ribs, iberico shumai, and lobster with sake miso. The baby back ribs were falling off the bone, tender and seasoned to perfection. The shumai was good with a pipette of ponzu sauce. The lobster was rich, not overcooked and the panko with the miso sake lent it a Mac and cheese-esque quality to it. Would definitely get these again. For dessert go the Japanese melon which was sweet and juicy and had none of the chemical aftertaste that is found in the fruits here in the states. The green tea kakigori was airy and light. Usually not a fan of red bean ice cream or desserts but this one came with a really nice red bean ice cream. Would have liked the portion to be more to balance out the shaved ice. Overall it was a great time! Price wise it was affordable for the amount of food we ordered.“

“My husband found this place online because it was the last hope for a reservation on Mother’s Day. We ordered the tasting menu because it sounded interesting. All courses came to our table piping hot and fresh. Every bite was delicious! Salmon crudo, blue fin tuna sushi, scallops, sautéed mushrooms perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Dessert was a cream puff lighter than air, just the right sweetness. Beautiful dining experience“

“We were lucky enough to get the last service by Chef Jonathan. We had his Kobe fair well tour! And he made our experience amazing! We had recently had their parent restaurant Hidden Omakase and we enjoyed it but was recommended to try this joint for a lower price point and shorter meal.So for dinner they do 45 mins and they start on time so make sure you come a little early and take some pictures in the nft gallery out front. If you park it’s to the left of the Italian restaurant and has no signage.Once seated they get started right on the dot. But even though it’s a short service Jonathan explained what we were getting in great detail. We got better interaction here with the crew than at Hidden Omakase. It’s a younger group and more fun and lively. The Engawa was the best thing I have ever eaten at any sushi restaurant. This thing is life changing. And you’re able to get an extra piece as an a la carte add on. Do it!!! You will not regret it.My wife and I were so impressed, we will definitely be back and at this price point we can come more often.Best of luck on your next Journey chef Jonathan your skills will truly be missed here.“

“One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. They are relatively new so it’s a hidden gem. The quality of sushi, nigiri, rolls and all the dishes are steps above most other Japanese restaurants in the area, a close second to Kata but with better pricing and easier to get reservations. The space and ambiance is beautiful. We frequent this place with family, have been to a birthday party here, and it’s now a family favorite of ours. I have no clue why this place is not jam packed, especially during lunch given their great lunch menu.“

“I've been to a few omakase experiences in my life and you almost always get excellent fish. What sets Neo apart is the creativity of showcasing each fish. You can tell how much thought they put into their food and presentations. The atmosphere feels really cool as well with it's hidden/speakeasy kind of vibe.Vibe, service and food were all excellent.“

“Honestly, we love going to our "mom and pop" sushi. They open for limited times of the week because our mom and pop work to provide service by themselves. The food is phenomenal and authentic as you can guess. I would recommend ordering off of the lunch menu as there is plenty to choose from. Try to arrive by 11 30 AM before opening to be the first in line. I promise the sushi is worth it!“

“TL,DR: Some of the best sushi in the Houston area, with super creative and tasty rolls! This hidden gem sushi spot is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall in Sugar Land, TX and I’m so glad I tried it! Their sushi rolls IMO are in the upper echelon of quality for Houston sushi spots, especially when considering the relatively affordable price ($14-$16 per roll). Also, all of their rolls are plated and decorated very nicely, which definitely improves the experience as well. Will definitely be frequenting this place more often when I want sushi! Here’s what I ordered:-Suki Special Roll - shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with tuna, salmon, spicy crab, tobiko and green onion-Highway 6 Roll - unagi eel and fresh crab meat-Miu Miu Roll - fresh crab meat, tobiko fish roe, shrimp tempura, spicy mayo-Agedashi Tofu“

“I had dinner there tonight after several friends recommended it to me. My friends know I love sushi, and I took my son there to try it out. The presentation of the food was beautiful, our orders came out fast, considering what they were, and this was honestly some of the best sushi I have eaten. Our waiter was attentive, and very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. As I was with my young son, I did not try the bar. I look forward to coming back. I’m trying different aspects of this place, and I was really impressed tonight. Try the Lobster Bomb Roll!“

“I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I didn't have the time to sit down and eat but since I was in the area, I decided to pop in and get something to go. I got 3 rolls and an order of dumplings. All of them were so delicious. Lucky for me it was during happy hour and all of that only cost about 12 bucks. I will definitely be back. I really want to try their ramen!“

“I enjoyed my experience overall. The all you can eat menu has a lot of options and is totally worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend the ribs though, they are salty. The sashimi is awesome! My favorite is the pepper seared tuna. They had a 19 top table( prom kids) and still served us in a timely manner with kindness. We’ll def be back!“

“We came for the lunch menu and we're the first ones there. The ambiance was upscale and a beautifully decorated space. The server was so nice and helpfully explained what we got. We ordered the chefs choice nigiri + classic maki. Sushi was fresh. Super good for what it's worth for lunch. I'll come back one of these days and try something else on the menu! Parking is part of a plaza, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a space!“

“Service was top-notch, formidable and professional. The ambiance was relaxing with water and classical music playing in the background, I felt relaxed the whole time! I ordered steamed chicken with vegetables (bokchoy, mushroom, asparagus, broccoli and bell pepper) cooked in white wine. I had the lunch special which runs from 11-4pm everyday, and you have soup, side of rice and an appetizer to accompany. I chose the wonton soup which was delightful, delectable crab puffs and fried rice. I will say the only disappointment was the white rice. Soy sauce provided was not too spicy. I just wish it was a bit cleaner as our table had remnants of the previous party on the booth and the fried rice was a bit disappointing. It was lightly fried with no vegetables or much egg for that matter. I will have to return to try the fried menu items. My mother ordered the Beijing chicken which had a bit of spice and I tried it- slightly spicy and tad over-salted but would have paired better with steamed rice to balance it out. Overall, flavors were spectacular and the service here was some of the best I've had while dining in an Asian restaurant. They were even accommodating to a group who had a service dog.“

“I come here all the time and the services have been consistently excellent! They always fill my bowl to the brim and do not skim on toppings. There was one time that the rice was a little dry, but after I talked to the manager, that never happened again :). Everything is delicious and fresh! Y’all should definitely stop by ?“

“We had the assorted sashimi plate which comes with 32 (?) pieces, da bomb roll, and potato and corn and crab croquettes, also some temakis. It’s definitely worth the wait time, and they are mostly busy. We went on a Monday evening and had to wait ~15 mins but it went by faster than that. All good, fish is fresh for the most part and prices are so fair. Will be back again :)“

“Authentic Japanese restaurant with friendly, efficient service for solid priceThe food at Izakaya Wa is always fresh and great-tasting. Portion sizes are OK and prices are very reasonable for the portion and quality - especially for the River Oaks area. We’ve often enjoyed their daily half-udon / half-rice lunch specials but their curries, katsu and sushi are all top-notch. I love the sushi rice they use.“

“Local sushi hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. The menu is really good, but we usually make up our own rolls and they accommodate it well. We enjoy our meals at Yoshi's.Vegetarian options: Plenty of opportunities to avoid the animal products if you are vegan or plant-based. Miso soup, vegetable rolls, ramen, appetizers, etc.Dietary restrictions: We ask for some basic veggie rolls most of the time and the results are good.Parking: Either in front of their shop or in the whole foods parking lot, no big deal.“

“First time visitors, be sure to read the signs. You claim your table and take note of the table number before walking to the counter to place your order. The wait was not long at all, to order and receive our food. Food was good and fulfilling. Few pointers if you have not been, water and soup is served at the little counter to the left of the ordering counter. They had 2 different soups to pick from. Napkins, silverware, chopsticks, soy sauce all located in the same area. Check the order window for posted signs of any specials. Table sharing is a thing.I would recommend to stop by and check it out.“

“General Description:A traditional Japanese restaurant. They have booths and a sushi bar.The space is on the smaller side. The good:- Tonkatsu Ramen: Broth was a bit different than most Japanese style ramen. I don't like fatty/heavy broth base. This one was on the lighter side.- Yellowtail sashimi was on the fresher side. The bad:- Chicken was rubbery.- Broccoli was overcooked.- Wasabi mix was watered down.Overall:Worth trying.“

“YUM! I'll start with this, I'm vegetarian. I came in with a few friends for a dinner, where we ordered a plethora of items which I felt were fairly priced. The vegetarian items ordered among the laundry list of others were: the Umekyu Maki, Vegetarian roll, seaweed salad, enoki butter, nasu dengaku, and vegetable tempura. There are limited vegetarian/vegan options however the tapas are done WELL. The umekyu maki is a new sushi roll I'd never tried which I thought was unique. The enoki butter was also a star among the bunch too. The place itself is super cute and quiet. Great for a fancy or casual dinner. The employees were kind and constantly checking up on us. I think I could be back :)“
