Drop Anchor Seafood was a great little spot to stop in for a quick lunch while on our short day trip to the coast. The service was fantastic, the staff was incredibly sweet and the chowder was delicious! I absolutely suggest trying the fries (chips). They were fantastic! We will definitely go back the next time we visit Long Beach!
Fiancée and I are on vacation and dying for some seafood. We chose this place due to the high ratings. We ordered the seafood combo, and I got 2 lbs of clams. Fiancée got the sold and I the chowder. Super basic, which is fine. Our meal came, and he got the "full combo," which had two shrimp, two scallops, a tiny piece of cod, and salmon. Which all fit in a small bowl, we both had a loaded baked potato.. the chives weren't fresh, the bacon bits were old and most likely from a bag. Unfortunately, the food was not enjoyable at all. I, for the first time in my life, asked if the bill could be reduced. We said the service was great, but the food (which we barely ate) we didn't enjoy. The waitress stated she'd have to talk to the service manager, and we completely understood. The manager never came to our table. A different waiter came back and said they could do 20% off. We wish the manager came by so we could express the service was good, but the food wasn't. Our bill was $75 prior. My fiancée was going to pay it but never come back, but honestly, this was my birthday trip, and I know we wanted a special seafood meal, and sadly, it was just surprising in a negative way. They charged the card prior to telling us what our updated bill was. 2 stars only because the waiter was nice.
