We’ve been to a Keg restaurant before and had high hopes. This one was hit and miss. The bread was great, the salad was ok but the mac and cheese was terrible. It was runny and had a pungent, overpowering cheese in it. We both ordered steaks. I loved the ribeye, my wife liked her filet but it was a bit undercooked and the vegetables that come with it were not seasoned. We both liked the twice baked potatoes.

I was expecting quite a bit more. The food was mediocre. Our plates were so hot we couldn't touch them to move them on the table, but the vegetables and potatoes were cold. We also had empty water glasses more than once.We were told there was no prime rib left, but the table beside us that came in after us ordered and received it, so I'm not sure what happened there? It was a later dinner reservation, so the place wasn't packed. The service was decent.. friendly, but not the dedicated service we've received and provided in the past (we had 2 previous servers at the table). The atmosphere was tough to beat in downtown Banff, but the bathrooms weren't very accessible in the basement. We were celebrating our engagement that happened earlier that day, and the waitress wasn't super involved or engaged in providing the next level service you'd expect to come with the price tag.It was mediocre at best for $350 ?♀️

Great steak. No atmosphere AT ALL and the server was efficient but seemed to lose interest as soon as we said we didn’t want wine. Definitely better places to eat in

Not the best Keg Experience. We felt rushed (mains came out 5 min after appy's came out). My aunt's sirloin was tough. My French onion soup had onion skin in it that I had to pull out of my soup. It's unfortunate because we love the Keg.

Visited this location at the beginning of March '24, on a chilly, snowfall Banff day - the ambience inside this location - on the 2nd floor in particular - was the icing on the cake.It was a Tuesday, so not busy whatsoever, and we seemingly had the kitchens attention on our food for the whole evening! Very fast, high quality meals (appetizer, main, and a Birthday desert on the house!!!). Thank you to our waitress, Denisa - made the night extremely welcoming and fun.
Patrick was absolutely amazing made the experience so much better. Will be requesting him everytime I take a trip to Banff and come to the keg -lots of gluten free

I went alone and ordered steak (choice of garlic mashed potatoes) + mushrooms and it came to about $54 including tip!The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great!Bread was also served before the meal. The food seems to come out a little late.I waited a while tooI wanted you to make a couple salads in front of me while I finished eating that steak.Oh~~I see you’re eating light today~But they ate all that steak.Only then did the steak come out haha.To be honest, the steak was too salty for my taste. The meat was a little tough. The aperitif bread and mashed potatoes were very delicious. If the steak didn't have mashed potatoes and broccoli... I would have been so salty... I would have given up on everything.(I took this picture while eating the bread before the meal. The photo is cut in half!)
