“Growing up and living in Ann Arbor Michigan for fifty years I can remember the Ilich family having very few but really good pizzerias. Through the years they grew but in the last twenty years or so the quality suffered and I stopped going. Since they've opened I've been wanting to give them a try and I'm really glad I did. I got a little trip down memory lane and a smile on my face. This pizza literally brought back the memories of what their pizza used to be. It is a wonderful way to wind down and have fun. The space is logistically tight for a pool hall, however, and it can get busy. The staff is friendly and efficient, sometimes even playing pool on their breaks. Guests should note it is a tight space and that cups from the fountain are not differentiated for non-alcoholic drinks.”

“Over the years, Bella Milano has been a favorite restaurant for me and my wife. We love the food, service and atmosphere. I have also done dozens of business seminars there and utilized their catering. My wife recently celebrated her birthday, and she was craving Bella Milano's Lasagna. Our visit started well as our reservation was on time and we were waited on by a friendly waitress in a timely manner. Our appetizers came out quickly also. However, there was a much longer than normal delay in our entrees coming out. The waitress did stop by to apologize for our wait twice which we appreciated, but the wait was becoming an issue. A gentleman whom we later found out was Tom the owner, stopped by to apologize and then gave us free appetizer cards, comped a portion of our bill and even included desserts. He was very friendly, but more importantly, very sincere in wanting us to leave happy. He let us know that our food would be out in a minute. We were really impressed and it felt great to be appreciated by the owner and his commitment to giving us a great dining experience. Well, Tom came back a minute later and told us "You can't make this up, but when they were taking your lasagna out of the oven it fell on the floor". I can only imagine what was going through his mind as he came back to tell us this news! He said it would take 20+ minutes for another, which really didn't sit well with us at this point. The worst part was that was what my wife really wanted for her birthday dinner. Tom immediately asked my wife if there was anything else he could make for her quickly and at no cost to us, but that he would make a new lasagna for her to take home as well. I simply can't say how impressed we were with Tom's dedication and sincerity to turn a potentially very negative experience into a positive one. There are a lot of restaurants we can go to, and thanks to Tom's efforts, Bella Milano will remain one of our favorites! If you want to go to a restaurant where you know your business is actually appreciated, think Bella Milano's!”

Sweet potato fries and the delicious sesame slaw paired with an order of wings in two flavours (maple garlic and Sriracha lime, yum!), plus the Carbonara Pizza at the recommendation of Spencer, our server. Every bite of the meal was amazing, especially the crispy texture of the wings and the creamy balance of the pizza sauce. Spencer took the whole experience to the next level though with their sparkling energy, attentiveness and friendliness from our entry all the way to perfectly divided bills at the end. Dutch Bros is making a strategic move in the Carolinas by acquiring Clutch Coffee Bar, a 20-unit regional chain based in North Carolina, for an undisclosed price. Clutch Coffee locations closed on January 16th. After renovations, the shops will reopen as Dutch Bros locations, giving the Arizona-based chain a much larger footprint in a region where it currently operates just two stores.
Zaxby's is having the kind of year most restaurant chains can only dream about. The chicken chain started 2025 aiming to sell 100 franchise commitments - a big jump from the roughly 70 sold in 2024. Instead, it's on track to close out the year with 120 commitments. "We're up about 2x, so it's been a good year," said Mike Mettler, chief development officer, during an interview at the recent Restaurant Finance & Development Conference in Las Vegas.
KFC is opening three new Saucy concept locations in the Orlando area between early December and mid-January, roughly a year after launching its first unit. The expansion includes restaurants in Waterford Lakes (opened December 6), Winter Park (opening January 10), and Hunters Creek (opening January 17). Each location will celebrate with grand opening events featuring live DJs, games, and prizes.
California's beloved burger chain is finally making its way to the South. In-N-Out Burger opened its first restaurants east of the Mississippi River - a historic expansion for the 76-year-old company. The chain launched two locations on Dec. 10 in Lebanon and Antioch, Tennessee, both suburbs near Nashville, with a third opening following on Dec. 12 in Murfreesboro. Each restaurant will employ about 75 associates at a starting wage of $17.50 per hour. The new locations feature one drive-thru lane, indoor seating for 74 guests, and covered patios accommodating roughly 30 more diners.

Chick-fil-A opened Daybright Coffee & Refreshment, a standalone café concept in Hiram, Georgia, marking its latest venture beyond chicken sandwiches.
