I had convinced my partner we need to try the pasta at Alforno because I love that it’s made fresh daily and it’s so good. We went on a Saturday and were seated at 2:20pm and were referred to the QR menu which brings you to all their menus. When we attempted to order we were told that only brunch is served until 3pm, this is listed on their brunch menu which we didn’t look at. At this time we elected to have a drink to start and wait it out for the pasta. Throughout our wait our server was attentive and sweet, though it was clear she was very new, as most of the staff seemed to be. We waited until 3, eager to order only to be awkwardly asked to clear up with our server and then stand in line to order and then return to the table so our food could be delivered to us. By this time we had already waited 40 minutes to eat and the line had consistently been long throughout our stay. We elected to move on to another venue for food, instead of standing in line. We spoke with the supervisor and I gave feedback that these things should be posted somewhere or we should have been told earlier. The pasta is good enough to wait for 30 minutes but at the point that this was all explained to us we had been waiting just over an hour. If we knew in advanced we would have planned accordingly to be in the line early. We were given a free coffee and still had to wait for a server to pay for our drinks. There seemed to be a lot of new staff and we had a few awkward moments with multiple staff. I think this contributed to the confusion on both ends for both parties. The beverages looked good and brunch smelled great, but this experience deters me from returning in the future.

I brought my kids here during a busy lunch hour a couple weeks ago. We had some time to burn during our dance competition lunch break!The food was amazing and the people were lovely.I thought all the staff were wonderful and the people whom I thought were managers were very pleasant and helpful. I do not understand the negativity.They also catered to my husbands large dietary restrictions and made sure everything was done properly for him.We have been before and will definitely continue to come back.Kid-friendliness: The meals were kid friendly for my 7 and 11 year old.
Food and drinks are really good. Just hire some people that aren’t rude and don’t have thick accents to where you can barely understand them.

The food and drinks were amazing! I am just sad to see how staff is treated by management. Some of the interactions I've witnessed were just rude and weird from who seemed to be manager on shift. Wish they were also more thoughtful with bringing our food as we had no rollups, so I had to go and grab them. Just little things but the attitude from the manager towards the employees made me sad :(

The staff are what makes Alforno so special. Unfortunately, Jenn (Owner) has decided to go on a power trip and treat the management and staff under her like complete garbage. She tells the staff that it's "unprofessional" for them to have relationships with regular clients making them "unable to perform their duties" - which I've NEVER seen, but then has the audacity to sit in the dining area with her family (while on shift). Whatever happened to lead by example?To replace all the amazing staff she has fired, she hires people that don't know what they're doing and don't make effort into establishing any sort of relationships.Jenn, you're running Alforno Eau Claire into the ground by taking away exactly what makes Alforno special - the people. How about leading by example and rewarding your staff for incentivizing people to come back rather than chastising them for having relationships and treating them like they're lesser than you. I can promise you that YOU'RE not the reason I'm there regularly.As a long time and consistent regular - it may be time to make Hutch Cafe my new normal.
I really want to try this place but both times I've gone now for takeout there is one server taking about 15 minutes to serve one customer despite there being 2 other employees hanging out behind the counter. Just now there was 6 people wanting something for takeout. I chose to leave. Please improve your service.

I had afternoon tea at Alforno’s and really enjoyed my experience. The waiter was friendly and nice. He made sure everything was perfect. The food and dessert tasted nice. I really liked the lemon meringue tart. The tea selection was also lovely. Great start to spring ☕️

Larger space makes for a less cozy feel, otherwise nice layout and flow.
Overall good ambience. The food is regular and it is expensive for the portions you get. Customer service can be improved.

The service was awful. when we arrived, they put us in the waiting list and told us you have to wait for 30 mins. but after 15 minutes the table was ready but the didn't sit us until 30 min was met. We were waiting for waitress for a long time to take our orders and also bring food. We wanted to order some food for second time but she told us kitchen is closed while they were bringing others food. so we asked chef who brought the food and he took our order, which showed that the kitchen was not closed.Also, the place is too noisy that triggered my migraine both times that I was there.
