I had Seafood Laksa & Hainan Chicken !!!They were just amazing that Banana Leaf restaurant become my No.1 Malay cuisine spot! They were both very authentic flavours without any doubt, and they had full of stuffs in. I saw the menu and felt little bit pricy, but they were more than worth for the price. Portions were also big that my husband and I finished all super full even we had some cakes on the way to restaurant (We usually do not eat much that we eat like 1.5 portions together). But we could not make any leftover ! I am very glad to have best Malaysian cuisine in Calgary ❤️ *Hainan Chicken dish, i am not sure why they thought not many people like cucumber so that they did not give us although we love it. So, please mention ‘Cucumber’ for Hainan Chicken dish order if you want 10/10 authentic style :) I do recommend this place to anyone wants Malay, and I will be back again definitely ?*No Credit Card accepted!

Be ware they accept credit card but charge you transaction fee. I don’t know if that if legal or not but clearly they just want to take cash and do something on tax. Won’t come back, why I carry cash with me in SE?

Lovely spot in an Northeast of Calgary. Serving up some of the best Malaysian food here in Calgary. Their Laksa noodles are great with the right amount of spice. Other items to get include roti, chicken skewers, tofu with preserved eggs, and hainan chicken rice.

We got the Roti with Chicken Curry, Beef Laksa and Taiwanese Chicken.Everything was delicious and flavourful. My favourite is the curry, the chicken was super tender and the roti is soft yet slightly crispy.

I spotted Banana Leaf while going to Memory Express one day and finally made the trip to try it.We ordered the Satay Chicken Skewers, the Roti Canai, the Deep Fried Tofu with Garlic and Green Onion, the Wonton in Garlic and Chili Sauce, the Roti with Curry Beef Brisket, and the Beef Ball with Vermicelli in Soup. The Satay Chicken Skewers were nicely cooked up. There was flavor, and the meat stayed moist. The peanut sauce was strong and complemented the chicken well. The Roti Canai was the highlight of the night. The Roti was crispy, airy, and soft on the inside. It was this snack dish that motivated us to order the Roti with Curry Beef Brisket. The Deep Fried Tofu with Garlic and Green Onion was very crispy and some of the best tecture that we have in town. The only thing that I wished was a touch more salt and spices. The Wonton in Garlic and Chili Sauce was comfortable, and the spice level was noticeable. The dish ate a little heavy, but that's expected. The Roti with Curry Beef Brisket came with a nice bowl of beef and potatoes along with a fried egg, toasted peanuts, and veggies. The beef brisket was flavorful and tender. I really liked the curry sauce. Again, like the other dish, it was oily but expected. We got the Beef Ball with Vermicelli in Soup and found it surprisingly heavy with oil as well. I suppose that must be the style of cuisine. The noodles were very nicely cooked, and the beef balls had a nice elastic bite to them.Overall, while we ate, the restaurant filled up quickly, and people were waiting. The meal was nice and we enjoyed it.

This little place has the most simple set up, but the food is amazing in taste and the price is very reasonable. Their drinks such as the green tea red bean slush is so good I order it every time I go.
