Amazing experience today at Calgary's latest BBQ joint. We tried the platter and had a good sample of different meats and sides. They were all fresh, warm and very juicy. Seasoning and taste was excellent. We especially liked the brisket which was very juicy and tender. The banana pudding dessert was a nice touch to finish off the meal. Big shout out to Sonja who took care of us during our meal - she went above and beyond to make sure we were good. Will be back!

This was the 5th bbq place I've been to in Calgary. It was the absolute best! Got the Ranch Hand Platter. Best tasting bbq in Calgary. Can't wait to go back!

The brisket is so disappointed, very dry, not much taste. We drove so far away to have a family there, ordered brisket, chicken wings, turkey, and other food, we planed to order more based on what we like, but we did not since everything was so disappointed. then we ordered the dissert and hoped to cheer us up and the dissert (they only had one option there) was way to sweet, not good at all. we are not going there anymore, with the price, it should have been better, it does not worth it. no wonder on Friday night, it was not busy there.Kid-friendliness: did not see chairs for babies, we did not ask, they might have them there

We are from Texas & the food & Margarita (made by Sonia) were fabulous! The beer, according to my husband, was outstanding too. Great atmosphere!!!

Came here and really loved the food, and it pairs so wonderfully with Big Rock Beer! The pulled pork is incredible, and you NEED to try the banana pudding. Can’t wait to come back! Plus, Tex and Robyn are so terrific - excited to see all they’ll bring to the Calgary BBQ scene.

A few years ago, I spent 10 days in Texas in between Austin and San Antonio. In those 10 days, I ate in 11 different BBQ joints. I had some fantastic Texas BBQ, and some that was not so great. On the basis of that experience, I think I'm a pretty good judge of what good BBQ is. This place does good BBQ. We had the platter between four of us. It came with brisket, ribs, smoked turkey breast, chicken wings, and pulled pork, with potato salad, coleslaw, beans, pickles, and a variety of sauces. Lots of food, although we did add some extra wings, ribs, and turkey. The brisket was top notch - better than any I've had in Calgary, and as good if not better than anything I had in Texas - almost as good as the brisket at Franklin BBQ in Austin. Tender, juicy, nice rub - all around delicious. The ribs were very tasty, and cooked just right - not fall-off-the-bone, but giving you a little resistance as you bite into them. Again, a nice rub, with just a hint of spice. The turkey breast was moist and juicy. The wings were tasty, although a little too much sauce. The sides were pretty good, especially the beans. Good banana pudding - big enough to be shared. Our server was lovely - friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return when we need a BBQ fix.

Beautiful spot with some of the best BBQ. Don't sleep on the turkey - it was exceptional. Also offered our dog a bowl of water and brisket bites on the patio so it was a fantastic time was had by all.

On vacation from Texas, we ventured to Traylor Parker’s new BBQ restaurant in Calvary at Big Rock Brewery. This place is LEGIT. Upon entering, we saw the huge Texas wooden flag, the sign out back with mileage to Texas towns like Stephenville and Beaumont, and heard the Texas country music.Ordered the brisket and ribs - and they were amazing. Rumor has it the turkey is awesome as well. Didn’t have room for it - or the banana pudding.Owner came to the table twice - he loves what he does, and he does it well.Calgary has a real gem here - a must visit if you want great authentic Texas BBQ. You won’t leave hungry…

Out with the old and it was a bad choice. They replaced a legitimate restaurant with an overpriced sandwich shop. The only drink options are beer, soda and water. There are no vegetables to be found here so if you want to pay $20 for some ok BBQ and an okay bun this is your spot.I won't be coming back.R.I.P. to the old big rock restaurant

Just tried this new restaurant, we arrived a little early and were lucky enough to have a short chat with Tex before we ate. If you like BBQ and are looking for an authentic experience this is the place to go. Every part of our meal was incredible. Had to bring some brisket home for later!!!!!

More like a Calgary bbq rather than authentic Texas. Brisket and pulled pork was good, rest was average. Got a stale piece of wonder bread on the side. Please add corn bread and sausage.
