A great place, service is top notch. The food is delicious and well presented. It might be the season, but it was a lot of very rich "bass note" type foods. Great stuff but a touch overwhelming in that respect. If you're getting flowers delivered though, be aware they might not be on the table when you get there... disappointing but they came through in the end.

It was absolutely lovely... it's not just dining it's a full experience. The decor and historical feel lends itself to the dining experience. Along with the wintery view we had yesterday. The food was delicious and the wait staff were very friendly and professional. Thank you ?

This restaurant is expensive, but it is definitely worth it! I have gone multiple times for my birthday with family and every time has been exceptional! The food, service, and atmosphere is amazing, and the building itself is absolutely beautiful. Definitely book a reservation in advance, if you can. There is lots of parking nearby and it's in a great spot for a quick walk around Fish Creek Park afterwards. The staff are always great for birthday celebrations, providing delicious birthday desserts too!

We visited BVR for high tea in this time. It was one of the best high tea we have had in Calgary! It was 3 tiered, 1st tier had scones and savory madeleine. Blue berry scone was delicious! Outside was crispy, inside was light and fluffy. The other one was like cornbread, it was also good, I enjoyed it a lot.2nd tier has classic cucumber sandwich, I am not big fun of cucumber but their sandwich was absolutely delicious! The other 2 sandwiches were Reuben and turkey. Those 2 sandwiches were my favorite, they were so flavorful. And I also liked they gave us 2 little sandwiches per flavor. There was also smoked salmon blini, it was also great.Dessert tier was amazing, everything tested good, cream was not too sweet, I loved chocolate mousse cake!Only disappointing thing was tea. None of red tea was available because they ran out…I don’t understand how a place serves afternoon tea can run out of tea leaves. Especially, multiple teas at the same time. Besides, if they are out, they should have informed guests when they give out tea menu.Other than that, atmosphere is great, a bit loud as it is one big open space.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp outside, very tight inside. If you can walk up stairs to get inside, they may be alone to accommodate wheelchair

Excellent service and ambiance. Food was excellent and good portion sizes. Only con was the cod tasted like it was soaked or drenched in butter and overpowered the taste of the dish. Everything else was top notch.

Went for afternoon tea, and waited 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge table. Restaurant was less than half full, and most of the staff was standing around, so no excuse for the delay. Food was ok, as a couple of sandwiches were stale as they are pre made for tea. First time visiting, and won't return for afternoon tea.

We went here to celebrate my Mom's birthday and it was fabulous! The food was amazing and our waitress did a great job. She even brought a small piece of a dessert for my Mom. My Mom said it was her best birthday ever.
We went for tea and the Ranche was quite busy so we waited for a table. We got escorted to a little 2-person table which was okay but we were in a separate room with another table with adults and children who were running around and abnormally noisy. We probably just had the bad luck of picking that day as I've been for tea before and it was just lovely.

Always great food, and staff who really do everything possible to make sure that diners have a great experience. A little busy and noisy over the family weekend, but that's only to be expected.

We had an excellent Valentine's Day dinner here! Each course was unique and tasty and service was great. The ambience of this restaurant is unlike anywhere else in Calgary. We'll be back again!!

We felt rushed throughout dinner starting with a warning from the lady who sat us to say we had a 2hr limit and didn't seem very personable. We then ordered and had our order constantly messed up. Our mains came out before our appetizers, twice. My wife's duck confit was so tough most of it was left untouched. After our mains we then had our appetizers show up again which we sent back. I had asked if our mains were going to be prepared fresh which they said would be the case, but my plate had the sauce dried and cooked to the plate which clearly showed it was cooked under the heat lamp waiting to be served since the first time it came out. This is not normally the experience we have eating here. I'm hoping this was just a bad night as it was Valentine's Day, but care should have been taken to have the night run smoothly, which wasn't the case.
