I loved ML when it first opened, and though I'm not vegan or vegetarian, I loved the concept of plant based bar food. Everything was delicious! Unfortunately, they've changed their menu, and it's a complete mish mash, and super heavy on the red meat side, not even a chicken option outside of a cheese dip. The food isnt great, half the time they're out of key ingredients, and the service has gone down hill as well. Service is super slow, and many times you can't even find a server. The space itself is awesome, but they really need to up their A game.

This place is a JOKE for live shows! I've seen multiple bands play here since their renovations and not ONCE have I seen them use any of their brand new stage lighting. Every band that has played here has had to perform to the crowd with only one solid colored light for their entire set.On Sunday night when Comeback Kid was playing, the sound guy attempted to turn on some of the lights, and ended up killing all stage lights completely. The band played basically their entire set on a very dimly lit stage. The vocalist even called out the venue on this issue.You guys have been open for months, for the love of GOD hire someone to run your lighting!!! You are ruining shows for bands and their fans!!!

Absolutely awful for shows. The layout is not meant for concerts. Giant bar in the middle of the room blocking half the view of the stage, if they had bars against the wall they'd free up so much more room to have more people there. Bathrooms are behind the stage, bands just line their instruments up against the wall where the bathroom line up is so they can't even get to them and it leaves their instruments vulnerable to being kicked or slammed into. No AC so it's a sweat box and a safety hazard on hot days, I feel bad for the staff who have to work in that heat, it reeked of body odor as soon as I walked in the door. This place should not be a live music venue, at least not for big shows that sell out. Local bands, open mic nights, sure, but nothing bigger. Let Dickens handle the big tours, stay in your lane and stick to being a bar and restaurant, unless you want to go back to the Broken City layout. Oh and it was $19 for 2 drinks which is highway robbery. This place sucks. Attended my first show there tonight and it will be my last.

Favourite bar in Calgary. Cheap food and drink specials, emo night every Friday. I've always felt welcomed and their patrons are usually fun, friendly people.
Unfortunately our experience here was subpar. This was mine and my friends first time here and we came in super excited! From the start, our server was not super friendly, she didn’t introduce herself (we found out later that her name was Kelli) or ask how we were, instead she came up and said “just so you know if you sit up here the food will take longer, but if you want to stay i’ll be back in 5 minutes”. We watched her go around and bring food and drinks to other tables and chat with other customers instead of greeting us. I’ve been in the industry for 9 years so I completely understand being busy, but from the start the service felt very cold and unwelcoming. When she finally did come take our drink orders, I ended up receiving the wrong drink, which wasn’t a big deal because another server resolved it quickly. The next issue was that I ordered cauliflower wings but was brought out regular wings, I don’t eat meat so this was a little unfortunate as all my friends got their food out and I had to wait another 15 minutes or so for mine. The cauliflower wings I ordered had almost no sauce at all, and were terribly oily and salty. They also did not have the corn-cheese sauce or slaw as it described in the menu (photos of what i received vs. what the menu described attached). When I later spoke to a manager about this she informed me that they were out of these ingredients, but this was not communicated from the server at all, otherwise I would’ve ordered something else. My friends enjoyed their food though and the fries were good! Although the server never checked up on us to quality check, bring napkins or cutlery, or anything until they were done eating. The bill the server brought included these wings which a manager (who was quite nice!) ended up comping which I really appreciate! Overall it was a poor experience unfortunately, I as a server, hate to leave bad reviews but I think the server needs to work better on her service and being friendly to her guests.

As someone who works in the industry, I’m relatively lenient with service I receive elsewhere because I understand what it’s like to be a server. Unfortunately this was way below a basic standard. I believe the server’s name was Kelli, but she was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome right off the bat. She also communicated poorly about items that were not available and did little to check in on us throughout our experience. For example, my friend received the wrong drink and was served chicken wings despite ordering cauliflower wings and not eating meat. The error was never addressed or made known to a manager until we later pulled a manager aside to communicate our concerns. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and it’s a shame the service was the main factor for it.
