First of all our service was outstanding by our waitress in the lounge , we ordered some appetizers. Salt and peppercorns and chicken wings , the prawns were delicious but the wings were a different story, when I bit into the wings the bone and meat were a very off colour purple and they smelled a little off , I quit eating them and never complained, we then had the steak sandwich, asked for medium, both steaks looked they had been on the grill for no more than 5 min , the fat wasn’t crispy or even rendered down , they were raw and not tested as the blood completely soaked the garlic bread . I tipped the waitress well because she deserved it . I will never be back , for a 116$ bill + a 22% tip I might as well burnt my money . This is not the first time I had a bad experience here but thought I’d give it another shot , but tonight’s meal has reassured me that I’ll never be back nor ever recommend.

My boyfriend and I had such a lovely experience this evening at the CattleBaron. We'd like to make a special shout-out to Howard, our server, who took such great care of us and really set such a nice tone for the evening. He was so friendly, attentive and professional. We both really appreciated it! The food was awesome and so fresh too. We've gone to the airport location in the past and have to say the atmosphere and quality compared to the SE is like night and day. I will definitely come back to this place! Thank you to all of the hard working staff that made it a great experience as soon as we walked through the door.

Good service, loved the Brussel sprouts and shrimp. The steak we ordered was extremely chewy, given that this is a Steak house and we tried their “signature steak “ it was very disappointing. What made this even more of an awkward experience is that we voiced our concern about the steak and the manager ( who is either new or just doesn’t know how to deal with situations like this who knows ) said that this is the steak they are known for ( doesn’t change the fact that ours was chewy). They comped my glass of wine and my friends gin and tonic ( which was nice I guess). Overall if this was not a steakhouse we wouldn’t have been as disappointed.

If you are looking to celebrate a special event or impress your someone, this is an excellent place to come.It starts at the front door with friendly, competent hostesses who waste little time in seating guests.The ambiance of the restaurant is very conducive to having great conversation with those that you come with.The servers are very much on the ball with friendly, efficient service. They also have a good sense of when to check in on you do you aren't interrupted unnecessarily.Of course, the ultimate star of the show is the exquisite ? food! The oysters were prepared perfectly as well as the Beef Capaccio. The Prime Rib is succulent and so tender that it nearly melts in your mouth! I highly recommend the Twice Baked Potato as your side.My clients were thanking me profusely for the amazing evening, which I was using to thank them for having chosen to work me to sell their home! I will be back!Parking: There is plenty of Free Parking here.
I’ve always thought of this place as the best steak house in Calgary. However on Thursday night I was there with a friends family celebrating his 40th birthday. Long story short…Caesar salad was tasteless but even worse my steak was a medium well instead of a medium rare. Very disappointing. I even left a piece in my plate for the waiter to see. When the waiter asked me how my meal was, I responded, “It was OK.” He responded “OK?” And then turned around and walked away. So bad. Sorry Cattlebaron…I won’t be back.

Always a great experience!Last Thursday we came in for a birthday dinner, I had accidentally left an envelope containing money in it in the table.The next day I had phoned to see if anyone had found it, they did not. However fast forward 5 days and we received a call from Brooklyn, the manager and thank the lord one of the bus boys had in fact turned it in. They both went above and beyond for us and we are ever so grateful. We will always be loyal customers and cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you again Brooklyn and to the bus boy. You made our day!
