Had brunch here with my wife and her cousin.The service was great, atmosphere was really good. Food was perfect. If you like an old fashioned, you should try it, it was amazing!

Gorilla Whale is quickly becoming my go-to fave for casual dining. The small plates are great for sampling a variety of flavors and each dish is more delicious than the last. Most of the menu is or can be gluten free. The ambiance is fun and the service is excellent.

One of my favorite restaurants in Calgary. Been here three or four times (in less than 3 months) since I finally made it here! Phenomenal food, service, ambiance! The Japanese Fusion brings a unique and delicious option to Calgary!I have tried both Ramen, Fried Chicken, Sashimi Donburi, every Skewer, Gyoza, Kimchi, Cucumber Salad, and for Pasta La Feasta Week the Freaky Styley Dan Dan Noodles.Everything is wonderful and the Gorilla Fried Chicken is one of the best dishes I've ever had!Must Try in Calgary/Alberta!!!

Party of 4, came in about 9? Near closing, but the quality of the food and the service was amazing! Waitress/waiters were very kind and made sure everything went well. From asking about food allergies to describing drinks that would match your meal, I could not have asked for better service and delicious food! Highly recommend for those who want to experience modern Japanese food!

Great place to sit and eat a bit of this and a bit of that and have a cocktail or two. The menu has a lot of variety, plenty of items for all tastes and dietary requirements. We are never disappointed when we come here. Moderately priced, excellent friendly service, and reliably great food. My 20-something children love this place even more than my husband and I do. Great little restaurant.

We had a delightful meal at Gorilla Whale. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable about the food and drinks and were happy to answer all of our questions. The food came out quickly and the vibe is fun/chill. Great aesthetic inside, very unique, and small. Would recommend getting a reservation.
