The food was absolutely incredible for the 6 course tasting menu. I left still a little hungry, but the food is so incredible that I didn't

Please have normal food with decent prices. I did not enjoy anything, in days before, when it was The Cross House, menu was perfect and ambiance was great.

My wife and I have wanted to try Rouge for quite some time, so we saved up and for our seven year wedding anniversary we booked a table, Feb 10 for dinner. We went all out and ordered the Chef's tasting menu, 6 courses $120 per person, we were really excited. I am going to be pretty harsh in this review, we were both very underwhelmed, disappointed and at the end of 6 courses we were both still hungry. There was another table in the same room as us who did the same Chefs tasting menu but were 4 courses ahead of us, when they finished and left they said I feel bad for you for what is coming next and they were not wrong. I am by no means a picky eater and it's not often I have any complaints on my meal, feel the need to say anything or send anything back but when I am paying $120 per person I am expecting a great meal. The "complementary" honey butter and bread was great. The Salmon dish was fine, nothing wrong but nothing fantastic. The chicken soup was very odd, dried little bits of chicken with 2 pickled mushrooms then a broth poured over, the 2 mushrooms were the best part, the rest of the dish was again nothing special. The foie gras was actually very nice and we both quite liked it.The main dish was the lamb, I absolutely love lamb and I was most excited about this. This was by far the worst dish! Minced lamb wrapped in charr formed to look like a large sushi roll was then cut into 3 and served on a bed of barley risotto. When the server asked how we were enjoying the dish I told her if you ask me an honest question I will give you an honest answer, she said we welcome your feedback. Lamb is meant to be tender I had to saw into the dish. The texture was chewy, underseasioned and the barley risotto was rubbery with a slimy texture and very underseasioned. My server brought me a bit of salt and I was able to finish the lamb, I only finished it because I was quite hungry at this point but the barley risotto I could not eat.The blue cheese cheesecake, let me first start off by saying that I really like blue cheese. I took one bite of this dish and was so overpowered with blue cheese that I could not eat it. The graham cracker base and berry compote on top was absolutely amazing, so I pushed the blue cheese cheesecake off and just ate that. When the server came by I told her how we both felt about the dish and she was kind enough to bring us a plate of the base and the berry compote. After that was dessert and it was fine, the truffle that was server with the bill was really good I liked it even more then the plated dessert.I will say this, since I did speak up to my server my criticism was heard and Rogue was nice enough to comp our drinks. With tip we spent $300.00 and after 6 courses, I was still hungry and ended up going to get a burger after. Unfortunately saving up for Rogue was not worth it and did put quite the damper on our big anniversary dinner.

Tried the tasting menu for Valentines. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. All six course meal was good, with the exception of the cheese Brie that I felt a bit dry. The wine pairing was on point! Thanks ?

Loved it. Came for the tasting menu. Excellent attention to details and flavoured so beautifully! Great commitment to my dietary preferences (no meat, light dairy)My children enjoyed it also. I found the service was very attentive , more casual than many higher end restaurants. Servers treated my kids well (my kids are polite, adventurous eaters who truly appreciate gourmet, but sometimes establishments assume otherwise ).I found the second round of non alcoholic drinks were kind of half-hazardely prepared for simple drinks. (No olive, no beautiful gradient on the Shirley temple as first round). The first round was very special however. Not sure if there’s a bartender or maybe short staffed?

This review is based off of the two times I have experienced dining at Rouge (once in the summer outside near the garden and once inside this NYE). I’m a fan of both menus though I must say there is something super special about dining here in the summer compared to winter. They allow you to walk through the garden where you’re able to see all of the beautiful produce you’re about to dine on. You also get a chance to see the bees in action making the delicious honey that is incorporated into a dessert or dressing or some aspect of your meal and you’re also granted the viewing of seeing you chef personally select the produce prior to your meal coming out. It’s a lovely experience. I highly suggest the wine paring, though the staff are not necessarily sommeliers there is something charming about each introduction and a down to earth feel of the experience. My summer meal was perfection from the amuse bouche to the mignardise (and yes even the palate cleansers!)My winter meal was wholesome and an homage to Alberta cuisine. It was full and comforting with a touch elegance.

We went to Rouge on New Years Eve and everything was outstanding. The food was second to none and our server (Alison) was absolutely incredible! We can't wait to come back!

The bone marrow + mushroom linguine was the best dish - very tasty. Foie gras was decent. The veal was quite dry and flavours were a tad boring. Duck breast was pretty good.Honestly. we could've given a 4 star review, but the service was just not attentive and extremely slow. A couple things were forgotten too. We love going out and trying nice restaurants, but it will likely be our first and last time trying Rouge.

This was my first time here, and I thought it was amazing! My mum and I have had this restaurant on our bucket list and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and professional. The food was just wonderful. I can't wait to go back again.

What a wonderful restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or just to enjoy great food with your favourite people. We went with another couple to celebrate my Birthday. While it was a rocky start, due to the restaurant not having had chilled a special vintage Champagne for which hubs called ahead, (They ended up not having it available and no one knows who spoke to my husband), and the outside seating being closed because of sporadic showers, that was quickly forgotten with the solid service and outstanding food taking centre stage. The timing of the courses lagged a bit, but each course was tastier than the last.We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing (for 3 or us - one had a lovely Pinot from the Willamette Valley which paired nicely with the whole dinner). The pairings were well considered and certainly enhanced the experience. We all couldn’t agree on which course was the most delicious, but we all agreed it was great all around. My fave memory of the evening was between the amuse bouche and first course we went wandering out into the gardens and were delighted to find Chef Paul Rogalski, one of the owners, tending to it. We had a lovely conversation and took some photos and he even surprised us by gifting me with a signed cookbook after dinner. Absolutely lovely!

My husband and I went for our Anniversary at the beginning of Nov. We loved the location and the food usually. That night was not great. We did the chef menu. The first course was dry and not worth eating. The tuna was good and the next course was great. Dinner was 5 out of 10 . The cheese item was tasteless and desert was bad. Then the bill came and they tried the double bill us.
