Birthday dinner at Ruth's Chris and it couldn't have been better: ambiance, service, food and beverages. So many "happy birthday's" from the staff and a special dessert that they let me choose. The evening could not have been better! Our evening was part of the YYC Food Experience and all the courses were delicious. They also cover the parking in the Calgary Tower lot which is a really nice add. We will be back....thank you!

Shared my 35th wedding Anniversary with my Husband on March 17th. We ordered off the Yyc Menu it was Fantastic. The Steak was one of the finest prepared I’ve had. The whole meal , was served by very professional Staff. They knew it was our anniversary so they provided a signed card and a beautiful complementary dessert for us to celebrate with. Class all the way.

First off the bread is not "fresh baked bread" with the crust. Basically they are hawaiian rolls from the store that have been warmed up. Super big let down. Whenever I have gone to a nice restaurant they always have crusty bread full of flavor. These were literally buns out of a bag from superstore.Got the calamari and it was overcooked and very chewy. The sauce was good but very unexpected. I wanted a peppery crusted soft calamari and instead the breading was falling off, the sauce was the same sweet chili sauce I have in my fridge, and the calamari was so tough. Don't waste your money on that. Honestly original Joe's calamari was better. But still I have had top of the line extremely soft calamari and this came no where close. We also got the onion soup. It was alright. Classic onion soup.Did the prime time menu. The lobster bisque was not good. And it is supposedly a RC favorite?... it was very salty and fishy (like more than a fresh lobster fishy- more like 2 day old fish). I complained to my waiter and they brought me a full salad in "exchange" but then charge me for both. Super infuriating. If you don't make a good dish you comp it.The Cesar salad was a classic Cesar salad. Nothing to write home about. The steak was very good. I have had steak the good in other places that were not that expensive, but good non the less. The side left me very dissatisfied. The creamed spinach was basically frozen spinach that had been thawed and mixed with cream. There was very little salt and tasted like grass... not sure how they messed that up. Then the au gratin was undercooked. You should never have to eat a potato that is al dente. And we ordered a side of asparagus and mushrooms which both were good. It is just unfortunate that we spend all this money to have an EXPERIENCE only to be left wanting more for what I could have made at home. Or gone to the cattle baron or another "lower tier" steak house and gotten the same thing.Overall I will never go back. I will spend my money elsewhere. ?

Went to Ruth Chris for my birthday and it was an amazing meal. Delicious food, shareable sides (they aren't kidding about family style), and they have a kid's menu too. Service was phenomenal and the staff were great; our server Medhane made our night memorable!Parking: Park in the Calgary Tower Parkade, Ruth Chris will validate your ticket before you leave.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu and definitely felt comfortable bringing our young daughter.

So I don’t ever write reviews. However last night we went to this steakhouse by accident! We were supposed to go to the Calgary tower but I messed up and booked here instead. That was the best mistake of our lives. I didn’t know this place existed. Yes the prices are expensive but the food here is absolutely delicious. Hands down the best steak, scalloped potatoes and asparagus we have ever had. The cocktails were out of this world as well! We had the porterhouse for two and one of the chefs came out to our table when it was done to serve it to us and they were so professional about it. I’m not one to spend that much for dinner. However if you don’t go out often and you want to take your significant other for a nice dinner. I promise you won’t be disappointed! Also shout out to my server laura and everyone who helpedfinding a place for me and my wife to go for drinks after! The speak easy was delightful and king eddy was a great time! Eating here is a must! Thank you for making our evening so very special!

The food was amazing! .... but surprisingly not 5-star even though the cost was up at that level. The beef simply had tooo-much-butter which overpowered the stunning cuts of meat. Also a major disappointment - the ladies washroom was dirty/dusty. This is an attention to detail I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber/cost.

Always a great birthday experience! This is our 5th year of celebrating and we will be back For many years to come. Service is great, food is outstanding and it is a beautiful spot with a view.

This place is by far my favorite steak house. I have tried most others in Calgary and surrounding areas such as Banff but I always return to Ruth's Chris. The flavor of the beef and butter is off the charts and I would recommend any of the steaks on the menu.

I have been to most fine dining steak restaurants in the city. So far, the best I would compare Major Tom with Ruth's and very disappointingly found the halal steak to be just ok. Most disappointing was the cook on the ribeye, to be medium it came out medium- rare with too much on the rare side where it was not only soft/mushy pink but bloody. So, yes great place but will never go there again to eat Steak. Chicken was great. Difficult to find the restaurant from the parking area. Had to ask the security guard by calling intercom and get to the place!!

Filet was soo good but the peppercorn sauce was awful; I instantly regretted putting it on my steak. The steak alone is amazing and is so juicy and buttery you do not need any sauce, so don't do it! Service was alright, a little slow and empty drinks often but our server was witty and great when he was around. Broccoli is awful and made so plain and cheap. Banana cream pie is 10000/10. Overall good and will be back again :)

The first time dining here. The portions are huge and can be shared graciously. Steak was amazing and tender. Chicken was a very good choice and sides we ordered were asparagus, brusselsprouts, mashed potatoes and a baked potato. We ordered way too much.

Way better than I remember. IMO the best steak in Calgary. Can't go wrong. Brussels with the honey butter and bacon was delicious. Harvest salad was excellent as well. Zero cimplaints. Touch to pricey

Enjoyed the experience with the steak served on the sizzling hot plates. The service was great and the food was delicious. I felt the room was a bit too cool otherwise it was quite cozy.

Restaurant was not busy, however the service was poor. Our waiter took our order right away and was friendly. The appetizer was brought to the table by a food runner, but we had to ask for appetizer plates and were told to use our bread plates. When I told him we wanted appetizer plates since we had bread on our bread plates, he went and got them. When we were done with the appetizer our plates were not cleared when the salads were delivered by the same food runner, even though we had finished the appetizer course 20 minutes prior. 30 minutes after we were done eating our salads, we had to flag down our waiter to ask what was taking so long for the entrees. Keep in mind this is the first time we've seen our waiter again since he took our initial order. He said he was surprised the entrees still weren't out and would go check on them. He came back from the kitchen and told us one of our filets had dropped on the floor so they were remaking it. When the entrees finally came out after more than 30 minutes, an unacceptable wait, we had to ask for utensils as those had been cleared with the prior course and not been replaced. Ridiculous considering the staff had over 30 minutes to having everything ready for the long awaiting arrival of our entrees. The restaurant was not busy at all, however there were several employees. The service, especially for a birthday dinner, was extremely disappointing and certainly not up to the standard of our prior experiences throughout North America at Ruth Chris.
