Due to their response and lack of interest, I will post what I wrote, and I suppose this will be my review." I wanted to write you, before leaving a review.I went to your calgary location yesterday on the recommendation of my daughter.1st... has the place been sold or under new ownership? It has a different name than my daughter told me.2nd... ordered the deep fried pepperoni, results, warmed soft slices of pepperoni. Not crispy, no light coating on pepperoni. Kinda sad3rd... ordered donair egg rolls (6). Awesome idea, however just meat inside?? Not onions, pickled turnips, nothing... and they were cooked to dark dark brown. Blah4th... ordered 2 orders of fish and chips, 2 fish, and 3 fish orders. Was not asked what kind of fish I wanted. And again what is with cooking them till dark dark brown. Perhaps really old oil...Hardly any fries.Maybe it is the way of down east..5th... the tarter sauce was good, but not enough for a total of 5 pieces of fish.Not sure what the yellowish sauce was for.I thought a sauce was garlic sauce for the egg rolls, Nope.The coleslaw... tasted old, but again could be a eastern taste.Over all was disappointing."The owner wrote back to me and said, to complain to the restaurant and not him.So, if the owner doesn't care, why would an employee care more.... so sad

The only place we get our fish & chips in Calgary!!! It is a drive for us since we live in the south and they are located in Marlborough, but SO worth it! We would sit in and eat if we could but they are strictly just a little take out shop/market. The service has always been friendly, the food is always fresh and hot, and the portions are big! They do have a lot on their menu from donairs, pizzas, and platters but we always order the fish & chips and it is more than enough for 2 people. We don't go often because of the drive, but when we do, it is such a treat. Highly recommend of you haven't tried them already!

Pleasantly surprised. Several things were sold out when we ordered takeout and really wanted to try to the donair rolls and pizza but will have to next time. Can order online on their website. Prices were reasonable and portions were good. It used to be called Scotian Style. Fish and chips were delicious. Got the haddock and it was so tasty and fried to perfection. The tarter sauce it comes with is bomb! Didn't enjoy the coleslaw though. Lobster roll was pricey as expected but was pretty good as well and filled with lobster, and served on a legit butter roll. The Halifax donair was completely filled with deliciously seasoned donair meat, along with tomatoes and onions and sweet sauce. It was very messy with sauce dripping everywhere but was yummy and worth it. So much flavour. Wouldn't recommend eating the donair in the car, definitely over a plate. Everything was carefully packaged in paper bags and the woman that helped us was very nice. The store is small but has a number of east coast snacks, drinks, condiments and other produce like meats and seafood you can purchase as well. Looking forward to trying more things from the menu.

First time trying this place out. Portion sizes are great. The price is worth it. Definitely will try it again. My only suggestion is not to make the garlic finger sauce as runny.
The lobster roll is AMAZING! It tastes great, was chilled as well - which was great to have during a heat wave in Calgary. The service was friendly, like family and very kind. 100% would go back!

A brit here and had a great experience. I've been wanting to try a new place for fish and chips. It did not disappoint, light flaky fish and batter was great, not greasy . We ordered the fisherman's platter and the shrimp and the scallops were delicious! Portion size was great too! Only suggestion is too much seasoning on the chips, it was a little too salty for my taste. But overall, would recommend and come again!
