There's nothing that I can say bad about this wonderful place. The staff are always so kind and the chefs are so talented, the food is by far one of my favourite places for Japanese cuisine, and the atmosphere is very pleasant and warm, nice lighting. My favourites would be the udon, cream cheese unagi rolls, and the seaweed onigiri. My first ever rice ball was from this restaurant and I was so happy that it was as good as it looks in anime/manga. Core memory for sure. I hope they're not closed forever I miss this restaurant dearly

Took 80 minutes for fried octopus legs appetizer, one mango roll, a clasic tuna maki roll, and a plate of sashimi. Appetizer came out in the middle as well. Waited an hour for the sashimi sampler alone. We were thinking of ordering more but given the wait times, that would've been a bad idea. They even have 16% tip as the default on their machine. That's sorta cringe considering how bad the service was. They never bothered to check in on us, I had to flag someone down just to check in on the food. I understand places get busy as I was a line cook through school. But I saw the amount of takeout and skip orders being turned over, it was clear that there was a massive queue in front of me. The restaurant should probably warn of the long waits or manage their skip/takeout orders so order times don't suffer. The food itself was okay, but an hour wait for just sashimi with us having to flag them down isn't a great dining experience. I asked for the bill and they ignored us. I ended up taking the QR scan code up to the front so I could pay.A lot of self service.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. We had tempura shrimp as an appetizer and then I ordered the Ginger Chicken it was delicious. My friend ordered some type of Raman soup and it was amazing as well. We will be back for sure! The service was friendly fast and efficient. Thanks for the great experience!?Dietary restrictions: They ask about any allergies so they can accommodate you.

Great restaurant and good service.Everything was good and I forgot to take some photos. It’s a popular place and people need to wait sometimes.Food tastes good but not surprised me. And I have to say the tempura is not ‘tempura’ just ‘fried shrimp’. But I guess lots of people like that cuz it’s also taste good.Reply : I’m sure I ordered tempura that day. But the flour on the surface was too much. I just saw your pics, shows good ,it’s a little bit different. But Im still willing to have meal here. Thank you.

One of my favourite places for dinner. Large menu of excellent items, always great quality fish and interesting dishes to try. The place is always busy which is a good sign.

This is an a la carte restaurant. I went for dinner on a weekday. I was able to get a seat right away. They have have digital ordering through a QR code. I ordered a chirashi don and was surprised by how much sashimi was on the bowl! Good portion for the price, lots of variety of fish, and the fish, especially the tuna, was fresh and tasty. It also came with a soup and salad which was not mentioned on the menu. I didn't try anything else on the menu, but enjoyed the chirashi don and would get it again!

Our first time ordering take out from here and we were impressed. Really big portions, even for the sushi. It was fresh and delicious! We will definitely order again!

This was my second visit to Shibuya Izakaya and it was just excellent. I struggled a bit with the menu as it is only available online, and I like being able to compare menu items while preparing my order. However, the waitress explained that we could just add anything of interest to our “cart,” and delete anything we didn’t want when we reviewed the order. That was helpful. The food was delicious and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I can’t wait to visit again!

This is my cousin's very place to grab sushi from Calgary. Very casual ambiance. The first thing I noticed was how extensive the menu was. They had your standard sushi rolls, but also had some items I don't usually see like salmon tataki, ika sugatayaki (grilled squid), and more! I think the price is pretty reasonable for the quality of the dishes. The fish tasted fresh and the rolls had a good fish to rice ratio. Some notable mentions are the saba blaze box press (they torch it right in front of you!), salmon tataki, and shibuya roll. Service was really great. They were very friendly and cleared out the dishes frequently. The parking lot is a bit cramped but we managed to find parking okay!

Shibuya Izakaya has been my tried-and-true Japanese restaurant in the city, and although it's getting a bit more expensive to eat there, the quality has remained consistent for over a decade. They have the best spicy tuna/ salmon roll, beef tataki, and I love that the raw oysters are served with ponzu sauce. This has been my go-to order for years and years, and I find it comforting that I can count on the quality to be same as it was when I ate there for the first time. The parking lot is a bit snug, so I prefer to park in the nearby neighbourhood, which I don't mind because I need to walk off all the delicious food I ate.

This is easily the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The food was incredible - I visited a few weeks ago with a small group for a birthday dinner, so I ended getting to sample a little bit of everything. There was not one item I didn't enjoy. The spicy ramen stole the show for me though. It was the sort of dish where I had the thought "I was full a long time ago, but I cannot stop eating".Also I'd like to share this moment of genuine awe I experienced with the wait staff: our server's mind was like a steel trap. Like I mentioned, I was there with a small group, and we colossally screwed up our order. The bill was being split into two, and we were cross ordering things on different bills, and people not knowing what to order or what certain items were or what have you. So when our server arrived to check in on us, she was faced with a deluge of mistakes on our end resulting in the most chaotic ordering of food I've ever been a part of. Some people were adding or subtracting items and drinks, making modifications to their meal, asking questions about this that or the other, bouncing back and forth between multiple people and by the end of it I was certain we'd have to just start all over. But at the end of all that chaos, without missing a beat, she repeated our entire order back to us flawlessly from memory.Eat here if you want a dining experience which is delivered to you by people who care about what they're doing at every level.

Great service and attentive staff. The grilled squid was amazing. The Teriyaki Salmon set diner was also great. The skin was so crispy. Also tried the raw oyster as it was a special the night we were there and it was great too, very different from the eastern sea oysters that we were used to. A must try.
