Vero is one of my all-time favourite restaurants in Calgary and has been so for at least 10 years. The staff are so quite knowledgable and interesting. The food is always spectacular in sauce taste presentation and exactly perfectly well done for texture. The quaint ambiance cannot be compared. this is a true gem in the heart of KensingtonIt is absolutely a consistent preference of anyone that has been there once! ?

A beautiful dining experience!Small and intimate restaurant. Food is five star.Pricy, but food is worth every penny.Parking: Paid street parking available but it's a busy street with lots of restaurants. So finding space is mostly based on luck.

For my hubby’s bday, we celebrate with my besties at Vero as we miss their tuna crudos and surf and turf. Paramountly the Seafood Platter is Divine. That’s one of my favorite restaurants I will visit again. Good job chef !

Wow! What an evening. We wanted to celebrate with my sister visiting from Ontario. Upon ordering our meal, we were served a surprise: a lollipop of pate de foie gras wrapped in a light meringue. Then another surprise: a beet puree on a slice of yellow pepper. Then came the appetizers. the lamb arrosticini was the only disappointment of the whole meal. It was very fatty. Our entrees were fabulous. We had to have desert. They were fabulous also. Overall we had a fantastic meal, and an enjoyable evening. The ambiance , the service, the food made for a very memorable and special evening.

Cocktails were good..service was ok, food not so much. My spouses pasta was overcooked and mine was too al dente..I guess I can't expect much tho, having an Italian mom that truly knows how pasta is cooked properly. The cotton candy wrapped fois grais and peanuts were odd. Also they didn't have spoons for spaghetti which was weird. We also felt extremely rushed. Wondering why this place has so many good reviews. Must have been an off night. Most likely won't go back..

An incredible dining experience. I took my girlfriend here for a late Valentine’s dinner last night and we had an amazing time. First of all, the ambience of the restaurant is immaculate, it’s perfect for a classy date night. The candles and lighting really added to the romance. Now for the food, we decided to start with the prosciutto which was a delicious starting dish. The oyster mushrooms were cooked beautifully and the cheese fondue over top really elevates every part. Then we had the surf and turf platter which was a FEAST. The steak was perfectly cooked and probably the most tender steak I’ve ever had in my life, the lobster was so fresh and buttery and the other elements of the platter (frites, roasted vegetables, pasta) really brought the whole thing together. Don’t even get me started of the dessert… we had a profiterole, which was the most perfectly balanced dish to end off our meal. Not too sweet and filling, but insanely delicious. All of the staff worked so seamlessly together, it really made our special occasion feel that much more special. If you haven’t been here yet, definitely add it to your list of must try restaurants in Calgary. You won’t regret it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dietary restrictions: I have a nut allergy and they double checked everything that came out was safe for me to eat.

It has been a few years since my last visit but Ooo ah I am reminded what a lovely place this is for dinner! We had the signature seafood platter and steak frites, beautifully presented and just delicious! Service was friendly and attentive and made for a wonderful anniversary celebration. Thank you vero!

After reading the reviews online here we booked a table. We were a group of 4 visiting from out of town. The introduction we got on entry was off hand even though we turned up on time. The waiter pointed to our table and said back there. We sat down and read over the menu and agreed to have the Chefs surf and turf for three people. One of the group was not hungry. Also ordered a bottle of italian wine. The wine list is limited to Italiana and French red wines and they appear to all be from just 4 vineyards. The wine we ordered was suggested as a pairing with the surf and turf. As starters we had Burrata and the chef also sent out complimentary crustini with tomato and anchovy. Both were good. The main dish surf and turf arrived on a wooden board piled high with steak lamb chops and three lobster tails. This dish was very average in both presentation and flavour it was pub grub standard not restaurant standard. But the price was definitely high end Canadian restaurant price. Some time after the main dish arrived lobster/prawn ravioli was delivered. This was the most disappointing dish. The pasta was thick and over cooked. The filling was edible but not great. We did explain our disappointment to the waiter and he accepted our criticism graciously. There are better restaurants in Calgary.

Food at Vero is always outstanding. The surf and turf platter is a must try! Great selection of wine. Always consistent in quality, flavours, and service - which I find lacks in most restaurants in Calgary. Definitely recommend Vero for your next date night.

WOW! Honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. First our waitress, whose name I cannot remember and that is terrible, was unbelievable! She was so kind and friendly and an absolute pleasure to have visit our table, would have loved if she even sat down and joined us!! The food was delicious. The flavours were divine and the portion sizes were perfect! I would love to try every single dish at this restaurant... I just might!!!!
