First of all, the food was pretty good. Prime rib, salad, Brussels sprouts and several of us had fish and chips. But the service made it an awful experience. Our server was a young woman. Very LOUD. Very intrusive. Very fakey. And the first time she referred to the two middle-aged women at our table as "lovey" our jaws dropped in shock. When she did it again and again, one of the women asked her to stop calling her that. The server didn't apologize or understand how offensive and triggering that term can be coming from a total stranger. She's not some adorable character from back home in the Maritimes. She's a young woman serving locals and tourists in Alberta. Do NOT be overly familiar with guests. And when someone asks you not to call them that, you do NOT justify it as "just the way I am, just the way I talk, that's how we are back home." NOPE. Your customer just set a solid boundary, and your server walked all over it in a very intrusive, triggering and offensive manner. Then she was clearing plates and nearly snatched one of our plates before we were done. When she came back with our take-out containers, she asked that guest if they were "still stealing the coleslaw"! Seriously unprofessional and unkind. Then she undermined the status of our guest of honour, whose birthday we were celebrating, by minimizing his professional international expertise. Just a terrible terrible experience in very poor, thoughtless, customer service. Ugh. No thanks. Get some serious training and don't make everything about you.

Worth it just for the views - are you kidding me!! But really and truly this is a great spot. Everything is a great price - my boyfriend and I both got the Tuesday Special which is an open-faced steak sandwich with two onion rings on top, a side salad and French fries for $17! You can't get much better than that. Plus when your whole dinner for two comes out to less than $60 I'd say that's pretty impressive. The food was great, the dressing on the salad was a little sweet and went great with the salty/savoury of everything else. Our server was great, super friendly and happy to chat, and even gave us trail recommendations. I'd be absolutely happy to go here again.

The 4 of us had a very nice breakfast here. Great patio and views. Public is welcome, this maybe on of Canmores best kept secrets for breakfast. I'm thinking lunch and dinner are decent here also.

Food and service is hit and miss but mostly it is a good experience. Certain servers are excellent and some are greenhorns. Certain chefs are really good but some don’t seem too professional. The “boss” appears lacksadaisal. Can’t beat the views and if you aren’t in a hurry, it’s a beautiful place to dine.

Lovely dinner or lunch spot to enjoy some sun on a patio with a beautiful view of the golf course and the mountains in the background. Our server was very friendly and quick to serve us even though she was really busy with other tables. Our food came only 10 minutes after placing our orders on a busy day, so that speaks to how committed the team is to excellent service and keeping customers happy! I had the spicy BBQ burger here. If you really like spicy food, ask for some hot sauce on the side - the jalepenos and the sauce won’t be enough for you. I also loved the presentation of the side salad here!

Wonderful patio with astounding scenic views. Waitress, Caitlin, was quite personable and efficient. Food was delicious. Husband had crab cakes with a side salad and I had the Asian chicken vermicelli noodle bowl. So good! I'd definitely recommend.

Had been here previously as part of a staff event, and the food was delicious. However, returning today, a friend and I ordered the tikka masala and butternut squash ravioli, respectively. Upon trying the food, we realized that this restaurant is definitely intended for an older audience; the spice and flavour levels were very low. The service was lovely, very polite and frequently checked in. The only issue really was the food. Overall, if you are looking for a meal with low spice, this place is perfect.

Beautiful view from the deck! The food was quite good, the waitress was really nice, and we enjoyed our stop to this little hidden oasis.

To the female who was working during lunch on Tuesday November 1st, she needs to get a new job or some D! She either hates her pathetic life as a pathetic server? Or just a bad person in general ??‍♂️ did she sleep with someone to get this job? The sandtraps restaurant should hire more professional and friendly staff.

A hidden gem. Dining inside can be VERY noisy when loud people are talking. Outside in the summer is one of Canmore's best kept secrets.
