Excellent Onigiri! They were a standout.Kitchen uses gluten free soy sauce and most of the food is dairy free so great for people with insensitivity. The matcha latte is really good too. Our daughter loves the fresh bubble tea (used making fresh ingredients and with coconut milk so dairy free as well). My better half thoroughly enjoyed the matcha ice cream. We also enjoyed breakfast here and ended up visiting 3 times over our long weekend stay in Canmore and samples a good chunk of the menu and will be back!Resos recommended!

An exceptional café and restaurant offering authentic Japanese cuisine with a delightful Canadian twist on desserts. Nestled within the verdant embrace of a Canmore greenhouse, this place is a true hidden treasure. It's now a must-visit on my list for every Canmore trip.

Despite having good food, I can't say I will be going back to this establishment in the future. We had a couple of orders of the breakfast bento box, an omurice, onigiri, houjicha latte, matcha latte, and a couple of waffles for 3 kids. Having been to Japan a few times, I can say the taste is similar - it was definitely nostalgic. However, this is where the positive comes to an end.The service is uncomfortable - politely impolite, perhaps. We did not have a reservation, and they were nice enough to allow us to walk in. The service was polite, but the subtleties of the impoliteness were shining through from their passive response or lack thereof. What hammered the last nail was during payment. The lady was absolutely annoyed that I was trying to pay with tap (which is an option), and it was not working. Eventually, we did pay with a card, and she handed us the receipt. We did not hear a thank you, a have a good day or asked if we enjoyed the food. I'm not implying they should be grateful, but I feel a thank you or come again is pretty customary to any sit-down establishment. This might be the first Japanese restaurant that I have experienced this. This tea house is situated in a garden center which is quite fitting for a tea house. Since it's in a public place, the garden center's foot traffic is visible, can be heard, or even enter this area. But do not expect to be welcomed if you see a friend eating there by chance. In my opinion, this is not a kid friendly environment. They may look like a cafe, but they are not welcoming like one.PS. I am actually surprised that this place charges $3 for maple syrup. The prices are on par with higher end local brunch spots which have a certain aesthetic and unique food presentation, so this seems to be a disconnect. Why not incorporate this to the meal price? This just make reminds me of going to denny's or IHOP.

The food is delicious and you can feel the chef's ingenuity, but it also means a long wait. Located inside a flower shop, the seats are simple and few, and too much lighting is a minor problem.

??The prices are extremely high, and the owners (a couple) have a bad attitude and are rude. The onigiri lacks flavour and is mostly just rice. The rice was undercooked. I didn’t find anything special to pay $22 for the Japanese Breakfast.??The matcha drinks were authentic and good. She prepare the teas authentically so make sure you have patience to wait when it’s busy.➡️ I recommend stopping by with your friends/family for a sit down tea time for their tea and ice cream, but the meals are not worth the price.

Such a beautiful and cozy spot with such friendly staff. We had a nice light and fresh Japanese breakfast. Beautiful tea pots and cups. We also ordered mochi and Nerikiri. What a relaxing experience.

I tried the hojicha latte here, but it wasn't that strong, so the next time I went, I asked for just one spoonful of hojicha powder to be added. The hojicha latte costs $5.xx, but you get $3.88 more just because you added a spoonful of powder. The original hojicha latte was too weak and tasteless. I added a spoonful and it tasted better. Is it right to charge more than half the cost of the drink for adding one spoon? I think adding 1-2 dollars is enough. Starbucks doesn't charge extra even if I ask for an extra spoonful of powder. No matter how expensive hojicha powder is, it's strange to charge more than half the price of the drink just for one spoonful. This seems to need to be changed. And there was no information in advance about how much the additional cost would be.

The loveliest spot! Highest quality ingredients made with extreme care and skill. We live in Calgary and it’s such a nice day trip to enjoy delicious food, after which you can visit the greenhouse offerings that this cafe is situated in. Unique experience that we’re lucky to have in AB! Pictured: salmon bento box, nerikiri (make sure to order first before meal to give the chefs time to prepare), kyoto wakei matcha and oat matcha latte

When my partner raved for TWO YEARS about a little restaurant inside of a garden centre in Canmore, I rolled my eyes. Yet here we are for a vacation and he insisted I had to try the salmon.Without exaggeration, it was the best salmon I have ever had in my entire life. Not only was the food delicious but the chef was SO friendly and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. Also, the garden center had the cutest Christmas decorations as a bonus!I walked out of here full, happy, with Christmas ornaments in hand and a smug partner telling me “I told you so.”We will be back tomorrow morning for breakfast.
