Absolutely rude arrogant staff. Food is overrated. Very glad to see that they are closing. Good riddance! And if you brutally rebuff my review, you need to look inward and reflect. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Simple food favorites, but with a slight twist, this place has high quality friendly staff that know the menu and make suggestions if requested,A good place to go for a relaxed and quiet atmosphere.

Blue Plate Diner is like your favourite sweater. Not too showy, but comforting and exactly what you need. The service is so kind and friendly. Genuine and pleasant. I miss their old location so much but this one still has plenty of charm. I love the booths. We went for dinner tonight for my husband's 40th birthday. It also happened to be their love jazz night which was a wonder addition to our night. They are kid friendly and while it was jazz night and I felt a tad nervous, my kids were warmly welcomed. I was grateful for that as we do like to try local restaurants as much as possible and enjoy when our family can do that together. I find their menu super well priced. I appreciate their typical diner items as well as some things that are slightly more upscale. My husband love the meatloaf meal. It has a rich gravy and it's hearty. I had the seafood risotto tonight. It was good but perhaps had a touch too much pepper. The kids both had spaghetti and my son devoured it! We also had a few appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were excellent-crunchy, a bit of saltiness in the best way and a drizzle of yummy aioli on top. My husband loved the cornbread and my son ate all the green onion cakes and I was barely able to grab a bite! The chocolate peanut butter pie is like a giant Reese's pieces so save room. This is just a wonderful gem in Edmonton and I recommend it for sure. They also have a fabulous brunch menu.

Great atmosphere in the resteraunt and the staff are very friendly. The eggs benny and meatloaf are my favorite items on the menu.. both 10/10 ? oh and don't forget the live music on Thursdays!

What a great venue with delicious food offerings ( we had pulled chicken nachos and a teriyaki chicken burger), superb timely service and specialty wines. The desserts looked fabulous! Prices are reasonable and Thursday nights offer local world class jazz with no cover charge. Impressive! Will be returning for sure!

OMGOSH, the food was absolutely delicious ? I had a bacon cheese burger ? with homemade fries ? followed by coffee and cinnamon bread pudding ? ? topped off with some great customer service and blues music in the background ?Some extra tidbits on the place: They have a live blues band once a week. You will need to make a reservation on that particular night! This place has underground parking for smaller vehicles where you pick up your own tab. Heads up, you'll need to find a parking space if you have a bigger vehicle.

Where to start: the menu is perfect - options for all dietary choices and preferences. Service is friendly and warm. The food is great - fresh and fun. The prices are fantastic.

I had the southwest breakfast bowl and it was pretty bad. It tasted like canned chilli poured over boiled potatoes. My partner had the eggs Benny and it was good though. Definitely not worth the price - I think this place is more of a cute “aesthetic” place to go vs a good spot for eats.

We went at the end of a long walk, and 2 of the 4 of us ordered meatloaf, both of which were not as hot as they needed to be. We sent them back, and they brought us out new piping hot new ones - the customer service displayed by the server was superb (and the food that came back was perfect).

Hard to find parking that's not in a resident-only street. Great walk-in service got seated quickly for a Saturday night. Hot drinks were ordered and the chai latte was 10/10 but the hot choc was not one I'd order again, just watery. Brussel sprouts were wonderful, crispy, flavorful. The fish was way too greasy, flavorless, and small portion. The french fries were fine. Water glasses were given in the beginning but waitress never came back to refill. Felt greasy after all that fried food. Dessert menu looked great but felt too full of grease for more. Bathrooms were gender specific and clean. All in all would recommend the Brussel sprouts and chai latte. May be a better breakfast/lunch spot.

One of Edmonton's go to for brunch. This place has been around for quite some time and I've always enjoyed my brunch is there. They also serve lunch and dinner I just haven't been much. Their brunch menu is full of classic diner breakfast choices but they have a wonderful options for vegans and vegetarians. You can substitute anyMeat with vegetarian bacon. They also have an excellent vegan burrito and even vegan dessert. They also have oat milk if you want substitute vegan options They have a nice patio and underground heated parking. On Thursdays they have jazz dinners. Which I would really like to try. I recommend this place --it's a great place to go for vegans and meat eaters to go out together

Heard a lot of good things about this place so maybe my expectations were too high, but I found the food to be run of the mill and the mimosas were more than 50% just a cup of ice. Absolutely couldn't taste any bubbly in it. One slice of my French toast was perfect but the other was undercooked and jiggly. Thought the walnut butter flavor would be inside the toast but it was just a small pile of overly buttery candied walnuts op top of the French toast. At $15 for two pieces of French toast and two tiny pieces of jalapeño bacon it felt like poor value. I'd probably go back to a variety of other brunch options in town before returning here unfortunately.

Nice staff and atmosphere but food was very plain and underwhelming. I had the veggie burger and it was very bitter. Also had the green onion cakes and those were quite underwhelming as well especially for the price. The rest of my family also considered the food to be bland. Fantastic music though. Would not recommend.
