Had ordered egg tarts after reading so many reviews but was disappointed. The tarts were eggy, in the sense that the custard has a strong egg taste and were bit undercooked. Moreover the custard itself was low in sugar resulting in a product without much wow factor.

I ordered a "Mango cake Roll". which I received quickly , looked nice but later on when served I discovered it was only a cream filled cake , no mangoes nor any distinctive flavour. Very disappointed ?

Bring cash, or be prepared to use the in house fee based atm. Cakes are ok, one was dry the other moist. Place was recommended by a friend.Parking: Hide your valuables and lock your vehicle. Still a questionable neighbourhood, slowly improving though. (Not the bakeries fault)

Ordered through Skip and WOW this place deserves more hype. My original plan was to try their bbq pork buns but they were sold out at about 11 AM, so I picked out some other items and definitely no regrets. Their pineapple buns are to die for! The lotus pastry is so flaky and buttery, the egg tarts were delicious as well. I’m excited to order again and try everything else in their menu.Learned my lesson and will order much earlier next time before the bbq pork buns sell out.

I grabbed some dai don tots... and they were fresh from the oven. The warm goodness was too much and I ate two in the car before leaving my parking spot.
Best pork buns and coconut buns in Edmonton hands down. I miss the south side location which closed but it’s worth a trip to the north side. The baking is far better than T&T.

We have been going here for years to get their fruit cakes. It has been quite a long time and we were happy that the cakes were just as good as we remember.

We used to always buy Old Wife Cakes from a well known place in Vancouver. Until one day my inlaws brought some home from this Bakery. Wow! The pastry and filling is perfect. I've tried T&T's, but the pastry and filling ratio is a bit off. Too much pastry and the filling is sugary and not much winter melon.Whenever we go to Edmonton we will buy boxes back for family and friends. If you are ordering a large quantity, it is always good to pre-order. They come in mini and regular sizes. Everyones palate is different, but it is worth a try. They also have good curry buns that sell out and chicken curry buns worth trying. The picture attached is the regular size Old Wife Cake. Oh, and the century egg pastry is also good.

There is something for everyone here, many options, economy defying prices, and as soon as you step through the door you're greeted with sweet and buttery air. You'll always feel welcome with staff to attend to your needs.Parking: You'll have to park on the road so you may need to walk across the road, but it is well worth it.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs so the only thing you need to worry about is if the taro buns are out of stock.

Cash only place with a ATM inside so you can pay $2.20 to pull money out, just so you can pay them and they pay no taxes on it while they send money to china.
