One word to describe my experience: yes!I visited at the end of Feb and it’s a diamond in the rough. You simply need to make your way to try their take on baos and yes, the garlic fried rice is a must.I hear the fish tacos took 11 years to perfect, and they were out when I visited so I didn’t get to try myself, but judging the way Hayley and Chef/Owner Edgar talked about it, I would request it for my last supper. Can I take a moment to praise Hayley and Edgar?! They are the perfect duo: quality people churning out quality food. They have their heart and soul displayed in the restaurant, and they show a lot of love in their food. Come one come all; bring a friend or an empty stomach because you’ll want to try everything on their menu.Thank you Hayley and Edgar for your hospitality! Save a table for me and we’ll chat over sangria.

The restaurant is cozy, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is thoughtful and well curated. The perfect balance of traditional Filipino flavours and modern LA style street food execution. We ordered 4 dishes - Bae But (fried chicken tossed in cheese powder on bao), Bao Boy (pork belly), garlic fried rice and my fave, the Tacos Carnitas - pork belly on house made tortilla, cooked to perfection and balanced with housemade pickled carrots. If you haven't eaten here, you're sleeping on one of the best hidden gems in Edmonton. The staff are phenomenal, we accidentally kept the chef and our server after hours just chatting about food. The portions are perfectly generous and the prices are easy on your wallet. Highly recommend!

Great food, very authentic, true to the Filipino community. Limited indoor seating is one of the few drawbacks, but still gets 5 stars. Friendly staff, great vibes.

This tiny & hidden Filipino gem is located in Edmonton’s Chinatown, and totally deserves more praise. When I say tiny, I truly mean it as there are literally about 4 tables in this knook restaurant. But it’s kind of nice because it makes for a super intimate and cozy experience. Especially because the service is superb! The chef is a kind and charismatic gentlemen, who is a WIZARD in the kitchen. He never fails to make good conversation, and often gives you a little taste tester or extra portion of your order! The server is also SO sweet, she is an excellent server and a great conversationist as well. Together they make for a memorable experience that will have you coming back.I have been privileged to have tried various things on their amazing menu, but on this occasion we order the Spicy & Original Boa Bae (Fried Chicken), Boa Boy (Pork Belly Braised in Soy), Tocino Bao (Cured Pork Loin), and the Garlic Fried Rice. I promise you every single boa was delicious! The fixings, sauces, and marinates all complement each other beautifully. The pork is so soft, tender, and rich in flavour. The fried chicken was delicious and crispy. The spicy one can be pretty hot so watch out! My favourite was the Tocino Bao! But y’all the GARLIC RICE? Immaculate, it’s so simple but so delicious. It’s also pan fried, so the crispy bits of rice are a great touch to the dish. I highly highly recommend you at least try this dish.I’ve also had their Carne Asada, and Carnita Tacos before, and they were very tasty.I really can’t rave about this place enough! Truly, I can’t name another restaurant that does Boa quite like they do, AND you are guaranteed to have a pleasant dining experience.Must stop in the downtown Edmonton area! ??

EAT HERE. This is a Filipino joint but the chef came from Tres Carnales so they also have tacos. Both the baos and tacos (tortillas are fried in pork fat for a super rich flavor) are amazing - get both if you have a big appetite! I tried the pescado (fish) tacos, spicy fried chicken bao and pork belly bao. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I would’ve tried the halo halo for dessert but was too darn full - next time! This place gives any solely Filipino or Mexican restaurant a run for the money (maybe the best tacos in yeg, sue me).

delicious food, we tried a lot of various dishes (baos, fried rice, coconut adobo) and came out full. the baos were pillowy soft and tasty, fried chicken and pork cooked perfectly. first time ive had coconut adobo and it was really good, the sweetness of coconut with the saltiness of adobo, genius!sadly we were too full to try their halo halo but looked really delicious and popular (lots of halo halo take outs while we were there).chef edgar made us also try his margarita and was amazing and refreshing.will definitely be coming back here again next time we are in Edmonton and been recommending them to all our friends.

Amazing food!! I had 3 different kinds of tacos, all were amazing but the fish were my favourite! Crunchiest fish tacos I’ve ever had! I had a yummy tamarind and guava margarita as well, soooo good with the tacos. So crazy how I had the best Mexican food ever at a Filipino restaurant! Hayley was a sweetheart, I’ll definitely be back :)
