I was hesitant on going for Ramen in Edmonton after having 3 weeks of Ramen straight in Japan. I was pleasantly surprised! It was delicious! The noodles were perfect texture! Yum!

Great place to go for ramen in Edmonton. Close to home, prices are decent, food is good and we never have to wait to be seated. They only have 1 option for veggie ramen (vegetarian goma) but it's pretty good. Its pretty basic- comes with shredded cabbage and bean sprouts, noodles and savory broth. I believe there's also a veggie rice bowl and a veg udon as well, although I always order the ramen :). Veggie tempura is also really good, as is the seaweed salad. My son is eating his way through the rest of the menu and is never disappointed. Decent portion sizes and they have a stamp card (1 stamp per order) so you can score a FREE Tonkotsu Ramen in not very many visits.Vegetarian options: Veggie tempura (7 big pieces!) And vegetable goma are both great!

I am a regular at Menjiro, I have been going about once a week during the afternoon for the past 3 months. The food has always been good and generally consistent.I decided to go in around 6pm for some dinner with my partner. We were both expecting it to take a bit longer than usual, being the dinner rush, but we're prepared to wait for some good noodles. We waited for just around 40mins with no soup or side. At last, I saw soup on the counter and figured it had to be for us, and it went to the couple next to us that had got there about 15-20mins after us. At this point, I can tell the servers are scrambled trying to figure out why our food hasn't been given to us yet. Eventually, they came over to our table asking what we had ordered, I told them and asked if our meal had even been started yet. They admitted that they forgot to place our order but would get it started right away. Both myself and my partner were way past waiting and decided to leave.Menjiro has always been a solid place for me to eat at but after this experience, I will find a new location to get ramen. It's not like there aren't plenty of other places around the city. I get that they were busy, but watching everyone else get their meals and seeing roughly 10 skip the dishes orders go out, it really gets under your skin when you're hungry. If they had given us the meal for free or a discount, we would have stayed but alas, nothing but a "sorry".That's my aggravated vent for the day.

The soup that was ordered was chicken and it came out smelling and tasting like fish ?Could not eat it.The meat was fool or gristle. Everything, even the chicken tasted like fish.Very disappointing when you are expecting chicken broth.Bathrooms were filthy and run down. Overall cleanliness was sub par.Will never go back. Make me feel sick with the 3 bites I did have.

Ordered for pick up, it came with no utensils, no napkins, just the 2 containers for the ramen. They then charged my 13.95 up to $68 dollars, thank God I noticed. They refunded my money but kept the 15% tip I gave them off of the $68 they charged me. Meaning I gave them a $8.83 tip off of a $13.95 ramen bowl, which... is so sub par definitely have had better. Save the money and go to a place that will actually give you good service and not screw you on the bill. I'm never going back, unless it's to get my refund if it doesn't actually go back on my card.
