Service was excellent. The food was good, however, the Chicken Kara-age - is really all about the sauce. Without the sauce, it's just fried chicken like you get anywhere.Takoyaki was disappointing, it had only the smallest tidbit of octopus in the middle.

I've dined at Mikado quite a few times and always enjoyed it. I took a client who had never been there for lunch this Thursday, and he was very impressed with the whole experience. He even ordered a take-out order to take home for his wife. Highly recommended!!

I remember the times when mikado was a staple for sushi in edmonton. Probably one of the first finer restaurant representing Japanese sushi. They have veered far from it. Ordered a few things for lunch with my parents (bill was 160 bucks). Being a frequent Japan traveler, I expect the quality not to be the same. But mikado really went above and beyond to make sure the taste was far from quality or a taste of Japan. I ordered 6 nigiri chu toro at 8 bucks a piece. Raved it to my parents about how amazing this cut was. The chu toro cut is really a fine marbling of fat, which makes it taste like butter. The cut I received from mikado was nothing close, it was a lean tuna which is fine if I ordered a 3 dollar tuna and nothing wrong with that, I ordered a cut that was represented at 3x. But to make things worst, it had a very strong fishy smell/taste which usually means it is not fresh. I let our server know that. She then told Her management. And instead of holding themselves to a higher standard. The manager said we have multiple options for you. Option 1 - we will not remove the items from your bill ( even if the quality is below sub par )BUT these are the options we do have 2 - we will torch it so we can mask the fishy smell or flavour 3 - we can take the fish and cut it up and make something else for you. This will be the last time I step food into this establishmentGo check out japoniase if you want quality sashimi. Mikados food taste exactly how the managements is t r a s h.

Food quality seemed to have dropped in the recent months. Still one of the better Japanese restaurants in Edmonton!

We are a frequent customer here because we really like the food and service until yesterday. We got a rude server named Akiko. Initially, we were very understanding due to our background in working in the hospitality industry however her actions are inexcusable. In the beginning, she told us to wait 3 mins but got back to us in 10 mins. We let it slide. She has other tables and we understand that it was busy. After she got our orders she never went back to check on us. Another person served our food and was very polite. The first time that she got back to us, she just grabbed one of the empty plates and left without saying anything. The second time was went she immediately asked if we want our food to be packed for to go while we are still eating. Then the last was when we just asked for the bill, so we could leave already. It was supposed to be a fun and happy dinner for us since we were celebrating a family member's birthday and she ruined the experience for us. I hope this doesn't happen again in the future even though we won't be back for a long time.

It had been a few years since last visiting, but it felt the service and quality has really gone downhill. It took over an hour to get our food, for 4 people. The tempura was the best part, but it wasn't like I remembered it.Unfortunately, our drinks were always empty, and we just had green tea and water.I hear the down town location is still really good, so looking forward to trying that one.Parking: Nice big open area to park, truck friendly.

?????? ???? ???? 2019Mikado in South Edmonton Common has a nice ambience and service. The food is also very high quality, especially considering that it’s in Edmonton. I’d give them 8.5/10. The dish that stood out the most after years is still their black cod.

I have been here multiple times and have ordered out multiple times as well. They have forgotten the sesame sauce and other accompaniments a few times but I haven’t been too disappointed by this and have continue to come back. Recently however they forgot to give an entire half of our order (total order over 150 dollars). Once I got home and realized half our order was missing I called to address this and they said to pick it up and offered me a pop to compensate for the inconvenience. I advise anyone ordering take out to check their order right there as they have messed up so many times and offer nothing to compensate loyal customers. Or sorry, they offer a pop.
