We have been going to Sorrentino's Little Italy for many, many years. Half of our family is Italian, and they know Italian food! I'm no expert, but I feel as if it is an old school authentic, Italian restaurant.A lot of its appeal is that it kinda feels like you are in Italy. It isn't a shiny modern chrome & glitzy, fern-filled restaurant. And that is a big part of its charm. This is the original Sorrentino's. Go here for the atmosphere and the food. We have been to the newer Sorrentino's restaurants, and the food is great, but we strongly prefer Little Italy. The kitchen cooks from scratch; we often order from their specials, but we absolutely ALWAYS share a Cesar's salad. I look for their mushroom dishes, Linguine Pescatory also happens regularly. (If you go during their Mushroom Festival in the Fall, you will have one of the best meals in your life!)The prices are reasonable, and the service is wonderful. Plus, it is beside a great Italian grocery store. We have three favorite special treat (well worth the drive) restaurants. This is our hands-down favorite. The clientele is slightly older, kids are most welcome (but hot-dogs are not on the menu)!Highly recommended.Dietary restrictions: They have quite a good gluten-free corn pasta--and you can buy it at the Italian grocery next door.Parking: It isn't the best neighborhood. We are older and avoid going after dark. But we have reliably found street parking right outside the door--perhaps after going around the block once or twice.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a short flight of stairs to get into the restaurant, so it would be somewhat difficult for a wheelchair.

Excellent food. Aervice was slow but they were busy. Sometimes background music was too loud and we couldn't hear each other across table.

Had not been to this location in several years. Wanted to check it out. The room is warm and inviting, the big windows, look out to the park, and especially in the winter time with all the lights is very dreamy and romantic. The fireplace is a nice touch, and the decor is classic and timeless. Greeted by the owner and made to feel like family always. The service was uncommon as our server was incredibly experienced and on top of his game. We had the Caesar salad, which was one of the best I’ve ever had, the Calamari and two pasta dishes. The calamari was good but not my favourite, however, the pastas were incredible. The lasagna, was huge, delicious and very tasty. Could not finish that one, took it to go. We also had the Mediterranean Penne which was definitely one of the most interesting pastas I’ve ever had. It was lemony and had olives in a very light olive oil dressing. This selection was one of the lightest pastas I’ve ever had. All in all was a very, classic experience from beginning to end. Would recommend it

The only shining star of the experience was the server, who was friendly, attentive, and did her job well.As far as the atmosphere, the place seemed cozy at first, but then we began recognizing the table decor as being from the dollar store, and when I went to use the washroom, their soap container still had the price sticker from Dollarama on it and the only available towel was one of those old infinity towels that just goes around and around the roller. I hadn't seen one of these in decades and honestly, I didn't want to touch it to dry my hands. Not sure how that thing made it through the pandemic. The food was the worst part of the experience. Three of us had the same pasta dish and it became clear that they hadn't made the three dishes individually, but had made one big batch and then divvied it up three ways, but without much care. I had four shrimp in mine, my husband had six, and I'm not sure how many were in the third. My husband's also had a big pool of oil in the bottom of his, which the other two didn't. The pasta in the dish tasted like it could be from the dollar store as well. It was not the quality pasta one would expect from an Italian restaurant. The mushrooms were just salt bombs and the rest of the dish was way oversalted as well. We ordered the creme caramel dessert, as the description made it sound wonderful, but it ended up being a sugar bomb with not much else to it. The sugar was very crystallized as well and I couldn't taste much flavor. I'm ok with flans, generally, but this one was gross. I ate one bite and left the rest. Very disappointing.Sorry, can't recommend this place and we definitely won't be going there again.

Salmon penne pasta was good, veal was fine, mussels were fresh. Braised ribs was under seasoned and undercooked.
