Food is great and price is fair, however we waited more than an hour for the food, hope this can be improved.

Phanang curry (with chicken) with coconut rice. I swear I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and supper every day and never get tired of it. It is sooooooo good. The portions are large enough that I can usually stretch one order into a few meals of leftovers. I've tried making my own Phanang curry many times and it's pretty good but not nearly as good as Syphay's. I might try to persuade them to let me volunteer in their kitchen just so I can learn how they make it.

Meal was excellent. I just returned from Bangkok 3 days ago and was craving something from there. This place hit the spot! Very authentic. The location is new and in excellent condition.

Great food at a good price. Massive portions. A $22 Pad Thai could easily feed 2-3 adults. It was a busy Friday night when we went, every table was full and there was a waiting list. That's the sign of a good restaurant! It was bright and clean, no complaints about anything.

An hour and 30 minute wait for two items? That does not make sense for a place that has a at least a four star review and considered a top rated cuisine.

It's probably the BEST and the most AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant that I've ever tried in my life. Great menus, great taste, and great portions. You just need to know when to come when it is not so busy, although I believe this restaurant is always busy. The green curry was on top of everything, and the mango sticky rice was heaven. I love it, my husband loves it, and my kids love it. Highly recommended.Parking: Nothing complicated.Kid-friendliness: Pretty good for kids.

Some of the best Thai/Laotian cuisine you can get. Staff is very attentive and friendly. They made sure we were happy with our meal throughout our visit. Lovely decor and warm atmosphere. We had Lahp, Pad Thai, Phanang Curry, Matsa-Man, Goong Krateum, and Syphay appetizer platter. Highly recommended!Vegetarian options: Available

Food is so good. I recommend the pad thai! We have a friend that's vegetarian so we asked the server to remove all the meat and egg. We also love their khao apd (fried rice) and goong krateum (we ordered the squid version). Yumm!!Make sure to reserve a table to avoid waiting.

Excellent. Everything was enjoyed and authentic. I really enjoyed the pad Thai and Pablo curry bowl is super spicy and delicious if you want something with a coconut base. Good protein cooked to perfection and flavored.

Don't bother with the takeout. Was given a pickup time of 6pm and the food wasn't ready until 6:40pm - and a dish was still not ready. If the food was amazing that would be one thing. But it was just meh. Better places in town, not coming back here.

Food quality is astounding. The only reason why this place gets a 4/5 is because they always forget to add extras to a takeout order such as chili oil and cilantro. I literally asked them to add those items as I was picking them up and they claimed they did as they were packing my order. I get home and those items are nowhere to be found.

Went here because a lot of people say it’s the best Thai food in Edmonton.I’ve visited Thailand and also have had some really great thai food in my life. And I unfortunately think that Syphay was just okay. The Pad Thai was really quite bad. It tasted like ketchup or like a tomato pasta. The pad Thai is the most basic Thai dish and this one wasn’t great. I think they really need to improve on this dish. However, the batter fried shrimp dish was so so good! The star of the night was the mango sticky rice with the coconut ice cream. This might be the best one I’ve tried in a while! Will return just for this.I can’t really speak for the atmosphere of the whole restaurant but we got the middle table which was a little hard to relax, but it was rush hour so we understand. Overall, they have some great dishes and some not so great ones. A little expensive too.
