Came here over the weekend with my friend and it was such an amazing experience! Winter was phenomenal with her customer service, she recommended me her go to order which was the satay beef and it was delicious, gave the viet ice coffee a try and it was sooooo good!

I went here as my first time with my brother to try out their banh mi’s because Quang Tran (youtuber) previously promoted this place. I would say I’m delightfully surprised by the quality of their banh mi. Definitely one of the best banh mi I’ve had ever and their Vietnamese coffee is top notch! Definitely will be coming back. Also the service was amazing and I felt at home throughout my experience. I wish this business all the success in the world because they deserve it!

Kevin took my order and then messed the whole things up due distraction from welcoming a groups of people from the city who doesn’t seems to care about their customers. They got their foods and coffees before my order and left and I had to wait to get my order done? It’s a local Vietnamese Banh Mi shop and no one can speak Vietnamese ?. Then Wilson the owner blamed that they are second generation so they could not speak our mother-tongue language. Only Cantonese and Laos for the day Shame on you for using my country cuisines for your living when you are totally disrespecting it everyday ❤️

What in the minced meat, canned corned beef kinda beef satay is this??Google "beef satay banh mi" and you'll see the difference. I am appalled at what I wasted my money on today after thinking what I ordered was beef.Check out Banh Mi Day or the classic Nhon Hoa 2. I don't know what this was at Van Loc but it wasn't it.Van-flop!

I have had my fair share of Viet subs. It has been a staple throughout my childhood. This is by far the best Viet sub place I’ve ever eaten at.My friend recommended the McDavid which I initially found to be corny (calling Vietnamese food anything not Vietnamese), but quickly changed my mind after I took my first bite. The bread was fresh and toasted perfectly, giving that perfect crunch on the outside while being soft and tender inside. The meat was hot, flavourful, and saucy. The veggies were lightly pickled and refreshingly cut through the rich flavours of the sauce.I never thought I would go out of my way to write a review about a Viet sub. I am craving one of these things, and have been ranting and raving about this sub since I’ve consumed it yesterday. I didn’t take a picture cause I ate the thing too damn fast. This sub is worthy of being named after the best hockey player in the world. 10/10

Good subs but hours may be inaccurate. Closed in the middle of the day on a Friday.

Solid Vietnamese subs. Their prices are super fair! Staff is friendly. I’m making my way through their subs. Such a cool spot in Chinatown. I tell all my friends about this spot.

I'll be completely honest, to me, it wasn't good (to each their own). The outer crust was too crumbly, too much bread on the inside and felt very dense. Ratio of bread to meat, again, there was too much bread, only 3 thin layers of meat so not enough meat in my opinion compared to other places in Edmonton. Didn't think there was enough butter/egg mayo spread either, however, I did enjoy the pate spread. A Banh Mi should have a thin crisp crust with an airy soft texture on the inside and I didn't get that here. Van Loc is at the bottom of my list when it comes to a Banh Mi Vietnam in Edmonton. While the new owners are trying to make the place more hip and popular, the previous owners made better Vietnamese Subs.

The food's great, with a clean environment. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.Bring your own bag if you're buying more 4 or more subs and taking it to go. Easy recommendation, enjoy your meals.
