What an amazing restaurant! Fresh, home-made food with great flavour. The service was superb. One of the best experiences ordering from a restaurant that I've had in Lethbridge. I highly recommend it!

One of our favorite places to eat in Lethbridge. Shortly after returning from our travels in Japan, we searched for authentic Japanese food and came across SAWA. It was all we had hoped for and more. Ayumi and her mother are welcoming hosts with the kindest hearts. We love SAWA

Very enjoyable meal. Well prepared and great service. Okonomiyaki was fantastic.

As someone who has visited Japan on multiple occasions, this food does not feel authentic, or taste good even on its own merits. The ramen I received had an excessive amount of ginger; to the point where that was all I could smell or taste. The dash tofu's texture didn't feel right and the soup it was in may as well have been colored water. The lady at the front was very nice, so I feel bad saying this, but I have to be honest. The food I received was poor.

Loved my japanese curry

You can tell this place is quality as soon as you see the food start to come out. Excellent food, and so delicious. I always enjoy a meal here!

I just heard about this place and had to try the okonomiyaki. It was absolutely delicious, as was the chocolate tofu cake I had for dessert. The lovely people at the counter provided great service as well. I highly recommend eating here.

Sweetest woman you'll ever meet runs it. The food is all amazing, home cooked comfort food that will make you melt. Great variety of traditional home meals, and lots of nice knick knacks and accessories

This place is super clean and the staff are very friendly. Simple Japanese decor, only 3 -4 tables for dining in. When asked about the menu, the staff were super helpful and explained everything to a tee. The Shoyu Ramen was phenomenal, everything is made from scratch.
Amazing, fresh, and authentic Japanese food with terrific service. Cozy local restaurant that's very worth the visit. Even the cakes are homemade and fresh.

I order a bowl of miso ramen once a week - it is absolutely delicious. Give this place a try - it is worth it! This is a small, independent business serving authentic high-quality food.

Theirs is the best ramen in Lethbridge, in my humble opinion. Also, Sawa is one of only a couple of places in all of Southern Alberta that make okinomiyaki, "Japanese pizza"!

This is not your Edo kind of restaurant, where you'll get "Japanese" food, that has been highly modified to suit our tastes. This is also not a sushi place. This is a great little place to get some straight up, authentic Japanese stick-to-your-ribs soul food. You want a quick snack? Grab an onigiri rice ball. Want something super tasty to share? Gyoza got you covered. You want something you've probably never had before? Bring a friend and get an o-konomi-yaki (and don't skimp on the bonito flakes!). Best way I can describe it is like a vegetable and mayonnaise concoction with a sweet topping, and bits of meat. It's... Something else. Very fun to eat, and extremely filling!

Cute small restaurant. I had the miso soup which was delicious. The broth was hot and had a good balance of saltiness, sweetness and umami. The noodles were also done very well.
